UT2004/1999 are the best opnline games ever! Trust me i play this at years with my friends and there's so much modes(one of them is RPG) and weapons and so much stuff people made. They were the GAMES OF THE YEAR!!! Trust me IT IS worth paying 10$ on Steam but I never stoped playing this till today!

I played it regularly about 1 year ago, but that comp doesnt have a computer screen now but its still working fine, its got xp but its pentium 3 and works great with Unreal.

Its great that ppl still play this game, i managed to find it in a store some months ago and i just had to buy it, what if it disappears never to be found again?

I love Unreal so much that I'm making a series with it. I've been playing Unreal for 4 years and there are still alot of dedicated players who still make mods and maps. I love this game, and nothing can replace it, mainly becuase of its online coop.

I've seriously disliked most of the online coop servers I've played in. They're all so ridiculous and overindulgent. Seriously, most I've played in have all these ridiculous weapons and way too much ammo with a crapload of monsters with no purpose and completely ridiculous physics. Not only does it completely take away from the feel of the game, it's just stupid and unplayable.

I completely agree with this. although on the bright side there are still quite afew servers available that only use standard weapons, which you are likely to find less players on though.

Oh by the way, with all the realistic water fx on todays modern games, i must say, during the intro for Unreal, some water fx look like today, oddly enough.

They're still cool anyway, but look at the one to the right next to the bridge, looks like Halflife 2 or any game with nice water.

Hmm I've created water textures in

Unreal myself. It is called "Fractal" technique. The fire effects are also made of that. It uses a base texture and you can "paint" wawe effects on them. There are raindrop, or swaying effects in the editor. It's really cool! It is not pixel shader but it is fast as hell and looks good.

The first level of Unreal still scares the hell out of me, always has. Probably one of the more disappointing parts about the game was how the level of scariness kind of declined after the first level.
