this is why they want everyone to shop at the same, government sponsored, "depot" stores. it is easier to brainwash more people at the same time when everyone is in the same room. like herding cattle into the slaughtering pen.
That horrible mullet seems to fit the message well. How can anyone find that attractive? It must`ve taken some pretty fancy subliminal advertising to get people to have their hair cut like that. :P
subliminal advertising has been proven not to work? your insane... they have done countless studies proving the opposite... big business wouldnt be spending the money they spend on things such as "product placement" in films, if it was a waste of money and didnt work.
Product placement is not subliminal advertising. You can SEE the box of Cheerios or whatever. I'm talking about high-speed imagery that doesn't have time to register on the brain because you can't see it. I recommend you read The Straight Dope which explains it more.
I see your point somewhat, basically saying some coke can on the screen so you barely have time to see it in a movie works, yet if it goes by so fast that its just a flash, it is not effective.. so speed is the main factor? I havnt read that book, but Im guessing for every book proving subliminal advertising doesnt work, I can find you another that says the opposite.. This movie used "hidden" or "encrypted" advertisements requiring glasses to view.. not subliminal really anyways
Oh wow, the bubblegum quote is from this film? All along I thought it was from Duke Nukem!

Things are simple once we want to understand them.
I think in the real world is more simple and natural.
Is just a matter of perspective. "vantage point!"

I wish truth could be approximated like it was in this film. It is seemingly impossible to approximate the truth of the world around us.

you're right, it's never that simple in real world

It's all very true, even though a) subliminal advertising has been proven not to work, and b) in the movie, aliens were behind it.
