  • Can anyone point me a web site that will show me how to make a 9 volt Squirrel zapper. I want a zapper that won't kill the squirrel but that if I attach the zapper to the pole of a bird stand/table will, when the squirrel completes the circuit zap it-the squirrel-off the bird table (pole).

  • Tennis racquet?

  • thats not a mosquito it's a crane fly

  • roast mosquito any one ? lol

  • lol, airsoft battery. nice mod

  • Ok, to explain a bit on the video:

First- the zapper was cheap... super cheap.

$12.99 at a local store for a pair! At this price, no reason not to tamper with it. 8-)

2nd- I work for a company who designed the patriot missile system. I build and test boards all day every day. I realize how these simple boards work, trust me. :p

As you can notice form the vid, I opened it up, not just connecting it to the battery prongs. We completely removed the capacitor and a couple resistors to make this

  • overkill!

  • so the main principal of an insect zapper is for the victim to complete the high voltage circuit right?

  • @djfantom205 Yes, it's even possible to make one from scratch!

  • If you add batteries or voltage the zapper circuit will short out inside the racket and it will break or not work very long. Example using Duracells vs. generic batts - even the duracells will short out due to their higher voltage.

  • ahh... i've always had this dream of going into a hord of mosquitoes or w/e and just swingin the zapper around, seeing all those sparks and flickers. of course i would have protection on.... multiple mosquitoe bites = bad.

  • @3t3rn4ldr34m1ng I know .....I wiped out a huge cloud of mosquitoes and the after math was incredible. it was like a pile of dirt in my driveway

  • you know you could get a better result if you had a larger capacitor. =3

  • I just found the new way to cook food

  • i put 18v on mine and damn i have to change the fucking transistor i got fried just in seconds

  • I got more sparks without modifying mine :S There is a video on my page if you wanna look for it "Having Fun with Flies" I think :/

  • i want to buy it!

  • you just got squidified

  • i had one for like a week.. i made a taser out of it.. its fun to use on people.. ;))

  • that mosquito got pwned!!!!

  • You can make mini lifters with these, my positive in wire came off can you check on yours for me?

  • Just to inform:

The bugzappers use a booster circuit to generate a set high voltage that will not arch between the wires of the racket and at a very low current to not be harmfull to humans. Adding more input voltage to the booster will not increase the output, only cause erronous operation or reduced input current requirement.

  • I'd like to add one thing though. If the zapper is of the cheap china type it may be unregulated and in that case, increasing voltage will help. Yours look like the expensive kind though.

  • why bother to double it... u do not need a bazzoka to kill bug, ull just drain the battray faster, shorten your hunter time.... ;small spark, to fry some leg/wing of the bug, is enought to drop & kill it. ;but for FUN, its all okay.

  • i accedentally stuck my finger in one of those

  • dumbass

  • where you buy in chicago?

  • not now chief, i'm in the fucking zone!

  • lmao

  • hahaha cool you die :}

  • My life is ruined.
