@MrB0mbdiggity I actually enjoy watching a variety of things on Youtube. This clip caught my eye because of the content. It's rare to hear Cissy sing in tribute to someone, so I wanted to see it. Even though I don't care for her voice, I still respect her accpomplishments as a vocalist, musician, director, etc. There's a timbre to her voice that I dislike. Also, I think as she's grown older, she's lost control of her vibrato. These are just my opinions. You obvoiously feel differently.
@GospelAccording2ME no, no way do I think differently, except I love her and I love her vibrato and yes she may have lost control here but she is about 50 here (thats a guess) and if you check her earlier videos of when she was in her prime she was amazing and had amazing control especially with her vibrato and the way she runs with her voice....
@MrB0mbdiggity During her days with the Sweet Inspirations and Elvis, she was a beast. Even back then, her vibrato was so big you could step through it...but, I think that was just her style. I always thought Whitney was gifted with a better voice, technically speaking. Either way, very talented family of women...mean women, but talented, none the less. LOL

her vocals are going to improve and the muscles will strengthen through habitual vocal practice being these concerts. just have faith.... im not saying she will return to 80's or BG vocals but something close to MLYL tour vocals is what i can see happening
whitney had TWO demons that were hampering her voice... over-touring and smoking ( drugs)... if you cancel one of them or both she would still be in very good voice today...... dont judge whitneys vocals that you've heard these past months... her voice is on the path to recovery and along as she continues singing( which i dont think she did when she was hiatus for 7 years) her voice will improve... and note that whitney is going on a european 40 plus show tour in april leading up to the USA TOUR
You don't know what she is, she sings gospel and you wouldn't know until you ear her sing classic. A low and deep pop voice doesn't mean and alto classic voice.

Are are serious? Whitney did very little touring. Patti Labelle, for instance, is a woman who has spent a lot of time on the road. The same is true of Nancy Wilson and countless others. Whitney didn't have to do all that live performing. She's had years off, in fact.
alot of time on the road is different then actual world tours like what celine and madonna are doing nowadays..... whitney has over 600 world tour appearances. take the BG for examples, over 120 shows and many back to back nights. compare whitneys number to mariah carey who has only done 130ish tour performances. also take in mind their belting techniqe... whitney belts in domiant chest voice whereas pattii mixes( adds alot fo head voice) which is alot healthier for your voice
Talk to some singers in New York who do club dates - weddings, etc. and sessions every week of the year. Talk to Broadway performers who do 8 shows a week - every week.

now she reachs Bb5 from her chest
the firsttime ever she did G#5 , A5 and Bb5 from chest is now in 40
she only now reached C#6 and E6 by falsetto
and only in he 2007 TC album she went as low as Bb2
so her voice expanded tro growing old
