  • his questions weres slowly turning towards the side of harrasment instead of questions. He was stun-gunned because he failed to follow orders, which can be punished with being shot.

  • Freedom of speech doesn't mean you can go into any forum and take over with your own set of rules. I am big on freedom of speech and expression, but I think we have begun to use this term to justify doing whatever we want more so than stating our opinions. Ex, I cant go to a dem or rep debate and just start rambling for 10 min and say don't touch me..freedom of Speech?

  • Dennis Kucinich who is running for president (D), has submitted the following house resolutions before congress:

Dennis Kucinich has put the following resolutions before Congress:

    H.R. 333 to impeach Cheney

H.R. 1234 to end the war now

H.R. 676 universal health care for all

If you want to see what Dennis Kucinich is about search on YT: (it's spelled wrong, but that's what you have to put in to find it):

    plot to assasinate Dennis Kucinich

  • Meyers did not anything wrong. It was a politically motivated act.

Demand that the president of the University of Florida resign immediately for permitting such an atrocity to take place. Walk out and stay out until he does and until all charges against Andrew are dropped and he is released.

Nation wide and world wide student walk out until Andrew Meyer is released,

all charges against him are dropped,

    the officers involved are charged,

the U of F president resigns

  • Star Simpson, the MIT student followed instructions, they did not shot her. Meyers should have listened to orders to move on once his mike was cut. Myers freaking out withing feet of Kerry, hummmmmmmmmmm? - maybe he was lucky they didn't shot him? Da?

  • Might I suggest scripting out what you have to say beforehand? You wouldn't have to follow it to the letter, but it would go a long way to helping you decide what you have to say before you start recording. I feel you could have cut out nearly a minute from the video on 'um's and 'like's alone.

  • I hate the character limit.

That said, I believe that the police were completely overstepping their bounds and that letting him say what he wanted to say, as opposed to causing so much commotion dragging him out and tasing him, would have done a lot less harm to the forum in general. I'm sure that every single person in there completely lost track of what they were thinking about after seeing that and hearing him scream like that when tased by the police.

  • u have to maintain order in event especially in the presence of a political figure. U say u dont understand this u dont understand that UR right u dont understand shit. watch the video and it show shim syaing ok ill answer the question. He was violently pushing away offciers. They liteerally say four times if you keep moving or resisting arrest you will be tasered so they tasered him.

  • dude go watch the video before you post a reply John Kerry was fucking answering him! dumb ass don't bring up irrelevant shit.. go fuck your self you fucking insested piece of shit! and if you

"don't understand" and he john has no fucking authority over the cops and he wasnt "clearly handcuffed" and no one fucking gives a shit about what you think you peice of shit! so go screw you shemale mother!

  • vajcammitchell-

are you really so ignorant that you need to use such vile language to make a point?

  • MajCamMitchell obviously has some disturbing but humorous issues in her life...

  • I think your a fucking douch dont post fucking videos and use umm or something, freedom of speech...and stuff. Fuck you Its private property and i think umm that your a fucktard!

  • Tazers are meant to subdue and that is exactly what it did. Have you ever been a cop, do you know what is is like to be a cop? It seemed necesary, he was resisting the whole time.

  • i only wish someone would have OJ'd kerry while the pigs were bullying that kid. But you probably think OJ is innocent since that is the verdict he paid for in a "court of law"

  • the student was clearly in the wrong. He was not asking questions in a orderly manner. He was throwing out statements and rhetorical questions out there as if to stir up or start a debate. It is a peaceful Q&A. He violated that he was asked to stop. Then he was going to be escorted out, he continued to resist.

  • Freedom ? In this country anymore ? Why the hell doesn't Jessie Jackson say anything ? I guess there isn't enough money in it for him to fight this for a white guy just trying to speak his mind.

  • That guy was a threat to John Kerry. He completely deserved the taser. He was totally out of line. There was no need to rant and ask his conspiracy theory-related question. He was wasting John Kerry's time.

  • just seriously stfu chaz911 its a university don't even talk like you "think" he had a weapon on him after VT you know how much they strapped down on crap like that?

Also by the way this just pisses me off.

    I agree with you jepoybote.

  • in that case, i then think that the student IS REALLY STRONG(!) that even when there were 4 officers pinning him down, they felt the need to use the tazer gun...

    PLEASE!

  • when police arrest someone it doesnt have to do with strength, they could of easily broke hs arm to make it comply to go behind his back.... then you could really bitch about something right? the cops used a non lethal tactic to make the kid do what they wanted him to do since he refused to do it himself

  • please your like 14 what do you know.

  • Firstly, this is just another excuse for all you college students to 'stick it to the man'

Please, in this instance, the jackass was asking for it. He was causing a public disturbance. He was flailing his arms around. For all you know, he COULD have had a weapon on him. The police were taking a precautionary measure in arresting him. They told him MULTIPLE TIMES that they would tazer him unless he stopped resisting. He continued to struggle.

    Do the math.

  • chaz911, who exactly is "sticking it to the man" as you claim? i'd say this is exactly the opposite of that BS claim...

and the student was not "asking for" electrocution, he was asking what john kerry himself called "important questions"...why don't you go back to nazi germany, where you'd be so much happier...

  • WE THE PEOPLE

Do the world a favor and kill yourself!

  • cute. that's it?

  • I agree with you as well and am enraged by this incident. He was resisting the arrest, yes, but he has the right to resist unlawful arrest. The police only has authority when their actions are lawful and are operating under the law.

Also, if you listen closely, John Kerry was actually telling the police officers to stop; he was saying "Please, police officers, let him go..." or something along that line in the background.

  • no, he said he'll answer the question.

  • This fig and unskilled american police officers are a shame for every police unity. They are inable to keep the situation under control, and after that they use unacceptable violence. (which can be seen as torture, because the student had no chance to do anything, anyway they shocked him)

    Damn fuckin fig bastards!

And Kerry this stupid fig bastard did nothing too.

  • This is a pathetic display for american politics and polices. One german police-officer would have brought the situation with one police grip under controll.

  • Totally Agree with you jepoybote. A university is supposed to be about encouraging individual thinking and reading a wide variety of topic matter to encourage and strengthen ones argument. The student was well-versed in his subject and Greg Palast's book is based on truth.

  • How in the world is it stupid? Jesus christ this is why im beginning to hate america and yes I am a citizen

  • Things that are much more severe than this are barely even winced at.

Search "Crazy Religious Lady" on youtube and watch the first video. They abuse it.

  • FINE, he was tasered for resisting arrest. I once again post the question: IS IT NECESSARY TO TASER SOMEONE WHO IS BEING PINNED DOWN ON THE GROUND BY 4 OFFICERS???

    4 OFFICERS + 50,000 VOLTS = OVERKILL

  • PLEASE! if you see a taser gun pointed at you, i don't think you would be able to relax. PLEASE!

  • LOL! Look at my video response on my thoughts. Click my name if you have a open mind.

  • well, we will all have our opinions on what had happened, but think about this: IS IT NECESSARY TO TASER SOMEONE WHO IS BEING PINNED DOWN ON THE GROUND BY 4 OFFICERS???

  • If he is fight them? Are they supposed to wait until he hits one of them? And from the video, he was by no means subdued or fully pinned down. Could they have reacted differently? It is always easy to evaulate and judge an incident when you have the luxury to view and review a video. But in real time? If you were there? It still comes back to the guy resisting.

  • He had the time to shout more than once not to taser him, so he also had the time to relax and say "OK I will cooperate". If he had done so and still been tasered, I would agree that the police were wrong and should be punished for thier actions.

  • he did say that he would cooperate if they let him go, and he was not ACTIVELY "resisting" by "fighting them" as you erroneously claim, he was PASSIVELY "resisting" without fighting...please, let's get the facts straight, markbeckstrom...

  • There is no question of "doing wrong" but of comiitting a crime. Arrest assumes a crime.

There was no crime in asking a question.

  • If you are given a traffic ticket for speeding, you have been arrested. That is why you have to post bail or bond. That is give up your driver's lic. or cash stc. Would you call speeding a crime? Perhaps it is but most people don't think of it as such. I guess most of us are criminals if we have ever broken the speed limit even if we have not been caught.

  • What I am saying is that arrest does not equal crime in the common sense. What

he did was "wrong". He did not coopereate when asked, he was arrested, he resisted. Stupid, yes. I still think on reflection that he was trying to cause something to happen and it may have gone further than he wanted.

  • at first you say "i dont see what he did wrong" exactly... i know someone who was there that saw the whole thing trust me he was very aggressive and cops had no choice but to assume that he would be violent... theres more to it look it up

  • He did everything wrong.

  • He barged into the front of the line. He asked more questions then allowed and ignored commands to give up the mic. He ran away and resisted when being escorted out of the forum. Then he resisted arrest.

  • If he barged into the front of the line, why didn't they try to escort him out? Why did they wait so long before they decided to cut the mic and arrest him? Shouldn't they have cut the mic before he even got a chance to speak... since... he cut his way through to be right there?

  • If you want to dispute that he cut in line then dispute it with Senator Kerry because that is what Kerry says.

Your argument is stupid and desperate.

  • If you didn't see what was wrong your an anarchist too. Practicing out-of-control, once the mike was cut begs authority to intervene. DA?

  • "out-of-control"??? i'd say the only people OUT OF CONTROL were the pigs electrocuting someone for asking a legitimate question...

    ~cj

  • i totally agree!

  • OK your an anarchist, we all agree.

  • And I'll bet you are one of those pigs that arrested him aren't you

  • electrocuting = Death

It seems he is alive and well.

He was not tasered for asking any question, he was tasered for resisting. Please lets get the facts straight. Then present your arguments. We can disagree, but lets do so on the facts.

  • He should of just layed dead.. and it woulda been great

  • he was just speaking his mind.

  • I am now reading news reports (I have not looked myself) that he has web sites with video "stunts". Seems like perhaps he was trying to cause an incident. If true then this is a whole different perspective.

  • well, i really think that they should have handled the situation better...i mean that doesn't happen here in Canada

  • If you watch other longer video of the arrest he is claiming the the cops of someone will try to kill him. PLEASE, this guy has problems. He brought the taser upon himself. If he had obeyed the police this would not have ever been an issue.

  • You don't have to obey police officers just because they're the police. You have to obey them when you've broken a law.

  • i totally agree with this comment!!! :)

  • The law is clear. For an arrest to take place the officer MUST touch the person. After the touch any resistance is resisting arrest. Resisting arrest is against the law. In the US and in Canada. When asked to leave the mic and not doing so he was bringing it on himself.

  • rofl ever heard of the black helicopters

  • 2. It is never OK to resist arrest. If the cops are wrong, in the end they will be held accountable. He was tasered because he was fighting them. You said you would resist arrest. Don't you know that is a crime? I guess that you might think it is ok to break the law in some cases. It is not. It was also "stupid" of the student to resist.

  • the cops would be held accountable...PLEASE!!! they are most likely to be suspended WITH PAY pending complete details of investigation...is that FAIR?

  • yes.

  • Perhaps the officers will take the heat for this. That would be too bad. The student was wrong. I know we may disagree on this, but I hope you and everyone else understands that if you are in such a situation, fighting the police will never be in your favor, even if you were right. In the US, Canada, or anywhere. Of course in some countries the person would disappear forever.

  • 1. He was acting unruly, and disruptive in his time at the mic. He was not asking questions that were usefull. He was more making a speech and had his own agenda, not what this forum was for. So he WAS out of line. That said, were his freedom of speach rights violated. We each will have our own opionin.

  • if you have listened to the background noise...you would have heard Kerry say, "that is an important question" w/c i think he was referring to meyer's questions coz i doubt that someone else asked a question...plus, we all have our own agenda.

  • There are two issues -

    1. Should he have been cut off asking his question.

    2. Should he have resisted arrest.
