  • @funkfanNo1 Pretty sure everyone knew what you meant, with the mentioning of Vinnie and Weckl in your comment. It couldn't have been an "X versus Y comparison" comment, because there's no way Teddy is not a "technical" drummer :-) The gist of what I think you said/meant, was that there's something about Teddy's drumming ideas that seem to transcend precision, itself. I agree. It's almost as if anything he can "think of" (while he's playing, not just practicing), he can execute on the kit :-)

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk Toca de maiss

  • Teddy is without doubt one of the best "feel" drummers on the circuit. He plays lovely ghosts and breaks his sticking patterns to different drums/cymbals BUT STILL maintains a powerful effective groove. American Idol is worth watching to hear this guy.

Just goes th show, regardless how much more technical drummera such as Weckl, Colaiuta are - good feel players get loads more work...........................

  • @funkfanNo1 Teddy is definitely crisp and everything that you said he is, but you can't say he gets more work than someone like Weckl. Dave has been doing his own thing for many years, and if he wanted to play behind someone he could gig until they stop making drums. It's just a matter of where he wants to go musically. Does he want to be part of someone else's program or call the shots himself. Like so many other things in music it is a matter of choice

  • @Ahovala - Just to clear up my point, I work for Dave Weckl. I know for a fact, he CAN NOT get tv work or touring work with the big guys. And, I will tell you why. THEY CAN NOT AFFORD HIM!!! I was not insinuating Dave Weckl is anything other than one of the greatest drummers ever. With that title comes a lot of factors when MD's and management teams choose players. My point is, the best does not always get the best work. So I can infact say he gets more work than Dave. Because it is true. Sorry.

  • @funkfanNo1 this guy is a feel and chops player vinnie and weckl was who he learnt off. They have insane feel aswell

  • @gabdrumking - Dude, no doubt. Let me clear something up, I am not dissing Weckl etc in any shape or form. I hold them rightly in very high esteem for the drummers they are and the influence they have had on modern drumming. However, if ou looks at ALL high profile music shows, they all use the same personel. FACT not OPINION. When Teddy cant do the tours, they use Aaron Spears. Groove, Feel, Dynamics. The holy trinity for any session drummer. NOT the worlds most technical players. Simple.

  • @funkfanNo1 um...r u saying that vinnie doesnt have as good a groove as teddy? maybe not weckl, but u should watch some more colaiuta bro..cuz he gets 3 times the work that teddy does...more important work than fucking american idol, teddy is amazin nonetheless, but who works with both sting, john mclaughlin, herbie hancock, and medageth?

  • @funkfanNo1 come on tho theres no way that teddy comes close to weckl as a musician, weckl is by far one of the most musical drummers the world has seen in the last 50 years
