I raise cattle, goats, pigs and sheep. I dontthink horse values it's life more then a cow, pig, goat or any other creature. I am different from commercial farms animals lives on pastureand given medical treatment when needed and slaughter is done at home. I think it's great you save horses from horrible situations, but slaughter in it's self is not bad, most eatmeat I think we need to work toward changing methods of slaughter/living conditions rather then fighting a "NO MEAT" battle. god bless!

Its my life goal to help sick hroses like the ones in slughter horuses. I love hroses, And I will do anything I can to help themm. I'm about to go and buy a horsde and delive me, I will buy one that is about to go to a slaughter house. (rest in peace hroses that didn't survive)

Okay Pitviperben2008 ...Some of these horses deserve to live..Some of them have so much more life, I just rescued a perfectly good appy colt, they where sending him to a glue factory just because THEY didnt want him. Not all of them are as worthless as you think.

this broke my heart! these horses (and mules and donkeys) could be used for something not just go to slaughter. it is so cool that you could do this. The horse at 0:57 is so gorgeous. how did you get to do this. i want to help so bad. i always told myself and everyone that i talk to about horses that i will rescue horses from slaughter or need to be rescued. good for you u r a great horse person.

i watched an auction and there was a couple numbers that were consistently buying "meaty" horses and not based on their training level or gender, and then when i was sure he was the kill-buyer, i got them from him directly :/ and i got there only a few hours before the slaughter truck :/

i'm so glad you rescued them! some of the horses at my stable are rescues, and they are the sweetest most trusting animals ever. help put an end to this monstrosity of horse slaughter!!!

i cant have a horse at ALL! i live in the stupid city im so sad horses.. i just love thenmm soo much i want one but.. i cant and anyway i dont have enough money i want to work at a horse stable so they can teach me to work there but i am only a kid *sigh* i guess i can dream...

the little white guy donkey was sooo cute. if you go straight to the auctions where the kill-buyers buy them from, some horses are only like $25. it's horrible :(

i watch auctions and listened to the numbers that were buying a ton of the cheap horses that were still muscular and then i traced the names. the thing is, there is a main CEO and he causes about 85% of horse slaughter, and he has ppl hired in every state that go to the auctions and buy for him, so it's like impossible to really do a whole lot. i had to buy the horses from them directly. so in a way i still provided money for them but i had to save them.

@iagobuppcnkid Since this person (the CEO) has been identified, people should talk to the media about him by name, put the spotlight of public attention on him and his life, so he experiences some consequences for his cruelty. Get the information about his name and his company into the public domain -- let's don't let him hide behind his company.

I am not trying to start an argument here...What would you do with all of the excess/unwanted/starving horses? in this bad economy, it's hard to sell a cheap horse to anyone but the killers, so people just turn them loose and they get hit by cars...i'm pretty sure that's not the answer. ..just curious

these horses are not starving. in any way. and there is no such thing as an excess or unwanted horse. these horses were sold unknowingly to slaughter. they were sold at an auction and a kill buyer happened to buy them. most were/are kids horses. many people out there can afford the monthly payments of a horse but not the horse themselves. so give the horse up. or have it put down. not tortured.

i didn't say THESE horses were starving, I was only saying it does happen, and there are excess and unwanted horses (from people who breed their horses just so they can have a cute foal to look at) I am a farrier, and I get offered several horses free each week...I don't have room for them ALL. obviously the owners don't want them. oh, and horse slaughter done properly isn't torture. There are always a few people willing to look for months to get a picture that will make you think so. imho

There is plenty of excess horses unwanted may be different but under current econ. conditions alot of people can't afford their horse any more. I know of a friend who took their 4 horse trailer out for a trip and when they came back there were 4 half dead horses abandoned inside. I have several rescued horses of my own. most were abandoned and neglected.

I have 4 mares I've rescued, & will soon be driving over 1200 miles to save an old stallion this coming May. I've been feeding him and paying for him for a year; I first saw him on the PMU website nearly 3 years ago.

He can't go where the mares are, so a man in the city I live offered 10 acres to keep him on. You CAN save them, even if you don't have a place yourself. You can finance their feed & hay through the winter, & you can search for people who want to help & have unused land.

STOP HORSE SLAUGHTER! i have 27 horses, all of them rescued from slaughter! one of my horses, Bella, i saved right before they killed her! i heard something neighing and whinnying, and i asked what it was, and they said it was a horse about to be put to sleep, so i told them dont, ill buy her. shes a purebred black arabian, and when i got her, i was stunned that they would put this beautiful horse to sleep! it took a while for her to get used to me, but now shes my fave and im her fave!

The gelding mule in the beginning, bay paint mare at 1:05, and the palomino paint mare at 1:21 are all animals I would love to have. Too bad I don't have the means to provide for a horse but if I could I'd take those three in and they'd have the best life they ever lived.

it's people with the mindset like you that we need to spread around this world. these horses are fantastic. and all have loving homes now. the palomino paint, Bella, is such a great girl. and the bay mare has the most AMAZING set of hair you will ever see, she just needed the dreads out ;). These horses were scheduled to ship to slaughter just hours before is got to them. wonderful creatures. they just need everyone's help. and they need love. love love love

I would kill to have a horse like that bay paint mare at 1:03!!!! Ok I wouldn't really kill someone for her but honestly why do people not appreciate their animals? And that mule...that mule was GORGEOUS!! The palomino paint mare is another horse I could only DREAM of having. It kills me people can kill such beautiful creatures in such horrific ways.
