  • Dec11958 today is the 53rd anniversary

  • Good work kid. I was there.

unclescott58, great job assuming the obvious,

serpentarius51 (geesh) that memorial hasn't been in Holy Family church for a long time, It's in front of the OLA rectory. on Iowa St.

  • Very well done piece on this disaster. I'm assuming from seeing the narrator at the beginning of the film, that this film was a school project. If so, I hope he got an A. He did a great job telling the story of this very sad event.

  • Survivors did place a memorial statue in the school. But the school itself was of a non sectarian group. The memorial statue was defaced. It was repaired and then taken over to Holy Family Chruch. Where it still is today.

  • what is there now where the school was

  • @65bigjoe the school was rebuilt there

  • thanks for letting me know.usaly when something this traget happens they tend.to put a memorial there.so thats why i was wondering

  • @393martian Your OLA fire vid was great! I was 11 and in 5th grade at St Ann's, in the "Pilsen" neighborhood. I didn't know anyone afilliated with OLA at the time of the fire until years later, but this tragedy touched me very deeply and my heart still aches when I think about it. Many of those kids were my age and I couldn't understand why it happened. Actually, I still can't. Type in "The Soft Goodbye dagrampster" and check out my vid on the sublect. No naration just music and pics.
