Hi, first time using my polaroid camera, pretty certain it's the same one as yours, just a boxier looking version. I put the film in this way but when the photos come out the paste stuff in the film isn't covering the entire area it should and the photo that's come out is only semi loaded. Do you know why this could be happening?
i had my first polaroid yesterday. it's a polaroid 636 close up..
when i load the film, and get that door closed, there was this ejecting sound
but the film cover sheet didnt come out automatically
then i hit on the shutter, and there it indicates there was only 7 films left, which was supposed to be 8 films. so would the other one piece be wasted or what?
u ust bought a second hand polaroid 1000 land camera, i cna see that there's afilm inside of her, but when i push the shutter button, nothing happens.
A few additional pointers: (1.) Close the flash when replacing film, or the film slot won't open (16mmDJ does this off screen). (2.) Polaroid One Steps also accept "779" film in addition to "600" film. (3.) You can find lost of "600" film on EBAY and AMAZON but it is expensive. Plan on $20 to $30 for 10 photos (not very cost effective) . . . but lots of fun!
thank you for this, it's so useful, i have a question about using the camera, does it have any kind of timer function, as in will it allow to press the button, then get into position before the picture is taken, or does it always take instantly? cheers x
i just got a polaroid camera from ebay a sun 600 I honestly have noo idea how to work it..I was hoping you could help me by awnsering my questions. First what is the number that apperars in the little white cut out mine says 10. Then what does the red and green lights indicate and what do I press to take the picture? thanks hope you can help!
Picked one up at a yard sale, and when you load the pack and close the door, the motor turns on like it's going to spit out the black sheet, but nothing comes out. Same thing happens when you fire the shutter, the flash goes off but nothing comes out. Fix?
@quetzalamaru google impossible project. They made a new film for polaroid cameras but it's a bit expensive. Worth a try if u're into film photography. Be sure to read up about the tutorial to avoid picture disappointment.
I bought a p600 camera today from a junk stall it already has a film in it, two decent photos were taken and two failed photos were taken, I only paid £4.00 for it, so that's a good deal.
I tried loading a pack into a cool cam... and it didn't work... but then I loaded it in a one step like your... and it worked..... does the cool cam hav a different battery system? thx
i cant push the pack into my camera. i have the polaroid one touch redline. it says it takes 600 film and i bought some online but like the film goes in halfway in the camera and just gets stuck. i know im putting it in facing the right way but what am i doing wrong?
@emilybrowningluva no, but it's good to keep them cool for extended periods. Keep it in the shade and out of direct sunlight. That'll keep em somewhat fresh
I bought a pack of 600 film the other day, the use by date was 2003! but works perfectly ok, so the battary's it would seem tend to last a fair while. I'l push my luck with an older pack next time and see how that turns out!
Hey Dude Did you say the film pack has a battery for the Entire camera????? I just bout a Polaroid one step flash, just like yours.but I get no power no buss or nothing.the film has been there who knows how long,it's got 10 shots that aren't expose yet.I bought it at a thrifty store and they dont know if it works or not.I tried to take pics with it but I get nothing Could it be the pack of film has been there for so long and it's film pack has no juice?
@dodadue89 It controls the amount of light let in to the camera. Left for cloudy days, right for sunny but its useless just leave it in the middle. Hope that helps. cheers.
Just got one today at Car Boot Sale for five quid. it doesn't have this thing. I didn't know how the paper would go in it. it's seems so easy. I'm looking for the papers now, can i get it from a photo shop or somewhere?
@16mmDJ thanks sooo much lol it was pretty obvious answer but yeah my friend just gave me the camera cuz he couldn't find where the batteries went. If I may ask another question, around how much is film for this camera?
@NickLambify your best bet is gonna be amazon, but that's all gonna be out of date. You should google "the impossible project". their film will be more expensive, but it will be fresher and will give you better pictures.
It all depends on how old the film is. If you put it in the camera and take a couple of pictures, but then leave the rest of the film in for a while, it might not be too good...
I have a polaroid one step autofocus. I got it at a garage sale for 5 dollars!!:) i just wanted to ask you what kind of film do I need for my camera and how long do they last?. Thanks a lot !!!!!!!
Soooo... what it sounds like is that you have a 600 speed film camera. If you open the film door, it will say what type of film it takes. All of the polaroid films are 10 photos per pack. They should last a couple of months after putting the pack into the camera. you should also, if you can, get your hands on the freshest pack you can.
Thanks, :P everyone says that, i never believe them though. :D
Someone just handed me one of those that they didn't want, it has film in it and I just accidentally took a picture. My question, which I don't see answered here or anywhere that I can find, is: does it close? I mean the bit with the flash on it, does it shut or is it always open? It looks like it is made to close.
Thanks for the vid and thanks in advance for your help.
WAIT!!! the polaroid 1000 takes SX-70 film. if you look on a pack of 600 film, you will see some nubs on the bottom of the pack on the end which you insert into the camera. cut those off with a razor. then you can put the pack into the 1000. be sure that you put the camera on its darkest setting first. even more good luck.
Since most of the film is expired, once you load it you pretty much have to use all the film in the camera asap ? Or can u take the film out and refrigerate it again until u wanna take more pics ?
well you could try to chill the film in the fridge, but when you put the film back into the camera, it will waste a piece of film for no reason. it will think it is ejecting the cover sheet. plus you would have to remove the film in complete darkness. and yes, it is a good idea to not leave the film in the camera for an extended period.

Hey 16mmDJ. I watched this video. Then turned away to look at a another webpage. During this time Youtube played automaticly all the videos back to back on your playlist. And i did not notice. I have a limited amount of bandwith i am allowed to use on a 24h period. Did not appreciate this forced loss at all.
As i recall, the only playlists that i have made on youtube are only 3 videos long. And even if i did have a long playlist, i did not FORCE you to watch any of them. if you knew a video was playing, then you should have either watched it play all the way through, or if it was of your convenience to switch to another site while you were hearing my video, you should have noticed that the audio in the video you were watching had changed. Please dont blame me or my videos for your attentive issues.
i bought 779 film at urban outfitters and it doesnt seem to fit in my camera. my camera looks alot like yours. its a 600 "Cool Cam" if that means anything. am i doing it wrong or is it the wrong film?
what they mean is that the film will still look somewhat OK. the color might be a bit off, and it might look a bit weird, but the battery should still work OK
fuji does not make the film for the one step. only polaroid made that. soon a company called the impossible project will be making film for the oneStep, the SX-70, and possibly the spectra.
camera, depending on where you are, you can get a camera for as little as $5 US. the film is gonna be about, again depending on where you are, $18-$30. but the film is going to be expired.
thank you, i just brought an old Polaroid (jobpro2) home and was trying to figure out if the cartridge inside was film or not.. turns out it was an empty case of film. and evidently the film also comes with a temp. battery at the bottom of the film cartridge...
Hey, i have the polaroid 600, basically the same model, and when i put the film in and do what you did it doesn't print the black paper. do you know if there's anything else i have to do?
Hey! I just bought that exact camera for 5 bucks at a thrift store.. BEFORE finding out lastnight the film is super hard to come by now. I have called all around town and came up with nothing. Where do you get your film from? The only online thing I came up with was 18.95$ for a pack of ten.
its just that they stopped making film for it last year, and people are going crazy to find the last scraps of polaroid film. but there is still a company who is going to continue to make the film by 2010
There should be no problem. if anything, the camera is just broken. sorry:(
The camera could be the one step that takes SX-70 film. Or it could be the 600 one step, but the film is SX-70. Those are all the solutions i could find
Love my Polaroid 600 camera...just ordered some more film from the company that will be making Polaroid film again. They have a warehouse in Hungary and they charge $18 USD per pack of 600 Film. Bought 20, but they charge $25 USD shipping.. still not bad deal.
Can someone give me a link were i can find
"polaroid onestep closeup 600" film?

And even if i did have a long playlist, i did not FORCE you to watch any of them. if you knew a video was playing, then you should have either watched it play all the way through, or if it was of your convenience to switch to another site while you were hearing my video, you should have noticed that the audio in the video you were watching had changed. Please dont blame me or my videos for your attentive issues.

completely new to the world of polaroid.
i bought 779 film at urban outfitters and it doesnt seem to fit in my camera. my camera looks alot like yours. its a 600 "Cool Cam" if that means anything. am i doing it wrong or is it the wrong film?
1rose2c 2 years ago
It should fit any camera that says 600 on it
16mmDJ 2 years ago
i got it fixed thanks. it says on the urban outfitters package that film lasts a year past its expiration date. is this true?
1rose2c 2 years ago
what they mean is that the film will still look somewhat OK. the color might be a bit off, and it might look a bit weird, but the battery should still work OK

hey whats up dude i was wondering where you can i get the paper at
delilahdaniel8 2 years ago

That's so cool! I have an old one step polaroid at home... but are you saying I won't be able to find film for it?
angxo77 2 years ago
no. go to ebay. or in 2010 another company will be making it
16mmDJ 2 years ago
Hey that was great,
do you know if a "Polaroid Autofocus 660" camera will take 779 film?
brayew 2 years ago
yes it will
16mmDJ 2 years ago
well you dont have to get polaroid. fujifilm still makes them
Iambillsjumbie 2 years ago
fuji does not make the film for the one step. only polaroid made that. soon a company called the impossible project will be making film for the oneStep, the SX-70, and possibly the spectra.
16mmDJ 2 years ago
omg i want one!
but i heard the films are very pricey.
how much are they? and the camera itself?
i dont even know where to buy the polaroid camera here in canada. :(
dyanjennica09 2 years ago
camera, depending on where you are, you can get a camera for as little as $5 US. the film is gonna be about, again depending on where you are, $18-$30. but the film is going to be expired.
16mmDJ 2 years ago
thank you, i just brought an old Polaroid (jobpro2) home and was trying to figure out if the cartridge inside was film or not.. turns out it was an empty case of film. and evidently the film also comes with a temp. battery at the bottom of the film cartridge...

i just bought one, if i take a picture and nothing comes out. does that mean the film is empty?
OhMissCatherine 2 years ago
depends, does it make a noise when you take a picture?
16mmDJ 2 years ago
after the flash goes off, the camera makes a noise like it's pushing out a polaroid pic but their nothing.
OhMissCatherine 2 years ago
yeah, you need to buy a new pack of film.
16mmDJ 2 years ago
Hey, i have the polaroid 600, basically the same model, and when i put the film in and do what you did it doesn't print the black paper. do you know if there's anything else i have to do?
kingoftink 2 years ago
it means that the battery in the film pack is dead. if the pack is brand new, then it is the camera that is broken.
16mmDJ 2 years ago
Hey! I just bought that exact camera for 5 bucks at a thrift store.. BEFORE finding out lastnight the film is super hard to come by now. I have called all around town and came up with nothing. Where do you get your film from? The only online thing I came up with was 18.95$ for a pack of ten.
melzaelf 2 years ago
OK, you can't get the polaroid stuff anymore. google search: Fuji FP-100C. its exactly the same stuff, just nicer.
16mmDJ 2 years ago
Thanks so much! You are great.

kristhian02 2 years ago
its just that they stopped making film for it last year, and people are going crazy to find the last scraps of polaroid film. but there is still a company who is going to continue to make the film by 2010
16mmDJ 2 years ago

polaroid one step camera with 600 film
WTFSTORMxD 2 years ago
There should be no problem. if anything, the camera is just broken. sorry:(
The camera could be the one step that takes SX-70 film. Or it could be the 600 one step, but the film is SX-70. Those are all the solutions i could find
16mmDJ 2 years ago
ohhh okay
well thanks for the help anyways :)

Love my Polaroid 600 camera...just ordered some more film from the company that will be making Polaroid film again. They have a warehouse in Hungary and they charge $18 USD per pack of 600 Film. Bought 20, but they charge $25 USD shipping.. still not bad deal.
