Yes, this is nice, But it´s not even near the 1973 recording with the phenomenal Tölzer Knabe Hansi Buchhierl. He always had a special feeling for what he was singing, and his interpretation of just this Agnus Dei was made with an authority that is stunning for a barely 13 year-old boy. His change of nuances and tempos, fortes and diminuendos, his long sequences and the nice effectfull pauses are stunning. A true little artist!
This is so beautiful it is almost painful for me to listen to it. Combined with the artistry of the performers and the voices of the boys this is an experience that those present would never forget. Profoundly wonderful in conception and performance. Oh Mozart.......
Mention should be made of the tenor, Kurt Equiluz and the conductor Hans Gillesberger. Both were giants in the Hofburg for many years. Equiluz has no challenger as the finest Bach tenor in recent decades.
@AsianHitman1 Libera is wonderful but unfortunately much of the music of the Austrian and German composers is a closed book for them. It is language problem; is it not? But then they do sing in Latin. German is a difficult language to sing in for English boys. German kids seen to manage the English without difficulty however. There many other good English and French boy choirs. Aled
@tuber23504 not really.. If you watch Kathie Hill clip on why boys can sing higher than girls then you understand why we have BOYS choir. This is a fun info to share so just check 'KathieHillMusic why boys can sing hingher thatn girls'. It's on Youtube. Enjoy the clip!
Yes indeed, however I was recently speaking to a friend of my neighbours' who is Austrian and is a very renouned organist and was telling me that a boy's voice sounds more "Angelic" and you can note the difference if your ears are trained to. I think what he said does make sense in fact why do you think there where so many boy choirs and even today. The nice thing about girl choirs is that they can keep their soprano voice for good.
Boys and girls may have similar sounds, e.g., the tessatura; however, the sounds are not identical because of physiology. Some listeners, based upon ability and experience, are able to hear the difference. Papal States prohibited females from speaking & singing, but not necessarily other states. Boys' voices lend themselves to a sound that many composers preferred, a sound even more discernable between countertenors (Andreas Scholl) / adult male sopranos (Radu Marian) and most female singers.

@hostclub17 Nidaros Cathedral Boys Choir from Norway I think is the best choir in Europe. They're sounding like angels, but the videos of them on youtube is very old, they are ten times better now.

Aangezien men hier ook Kyrie elIJson zingt.

Sorry, but I don't think it is Peter Jelosits. At 2:00, there is an opportunity for a trill that Peter would have sung. This is possibly Benjamin Schmidinger. The conductor is Hans Gillesberger, the tenor is the incomparable Kurt Equiluz, and the location is the Hofburgkapelle (Royal Chapel in Vienna)

Italiaans-Latijn = anus dei of

Sorry, but I don't think it is Peter Jelosits. At 2:00, there is an opportunity for a trill that Peter would have sung. This is possibly Benjamin Schmidinger. The conductor is Hans Gillesberger, the tenor is the incomparable Kurt Equiluz, and the location is the Hofburgkapelle (Royal Chapel in Vienna)

Benjamin Schmidinger was solist in 1992-1995.
If you don't know this solist, nobody knows .
Is there somebody who knows Peter Jelosits?

I think the solo soprano is Peter Jelosits .
He was the Solist of the Wiener Sängerknaben in
1970-1975.
