  • Dein meistaufgerufenes Video...:)

  • @wskfan Once I had the whole video, the complete mass, about one hour, unfortunately I lost it. : (

  • Wow! Jake from Three and a Half Men is a really good singer! ;)

  • To me it sounds like he's swallowing his tongue the whole time. The high notes are beautiful, but over all it just sounds strange.

  • The tenor soloist is the legendary Kurt Equiluz.

  • Yes, this is nice, But it´s not even near the 1973 recording with the phenomenal Tölzer Knabe Hansi Buchhierl. He always had a special feeling for what he was singing, and his interpretation of just this Agnus Dei was made with an authority that is stunning for a barely 13 year-old boy. His change of nuances and tempos, fortes and diminuendos, his long sequences and the nice effectfull pauses are stunning. A true little artist!

  • E other boy did much better :)

  • So lovely...

  • I lol'd

  • a high percentage of these boys become "gay" later in life?they will prcactise sodomia?

  • @IbnNero That's what happens if you let your kids stop playing football

  • @IbnNero, @superdouradas

    Crazy comments from crazy guys

  • Ang galing ng mga bata...How nice...How I wish all my students would sound like that...

  • Congratulation orion. Your beautiful video here has been linked to the WSK website :)

  • @Chrisy299 Thank you, I haven't seen it yet.

This video belongs to a short documentary, were the choir was singging the whole

"Kronungsmesse " once I had this whole video.

  • polonaise in as opus 52

    chopin

polonaise in as opus 52 chopin

  • This is so beautiful it is almost painful for me to listen to it. Combined with the artistry of the performers and the voices of the boys this is an experience that those present would never forget. Profoundly wonderful in conception and performance. Oh Mozart.......

    Aled

  • Mention should be made of the tenor, Kurt Equiluz and the conductor Hans Gillesberger. Both were giants in the Hofburg for many years. Equiluz has no challenger as the finest Bach tenor in recent decades.

  • Beautiful.

  • qvi tollis...

  • they must have a new choir..for sure?????

  • Wow!

    Wow!

    Wow!

Almost as good as Jackie Evancho! ;-)

  • anyone heard of a choir called Libera? they're good too.

  • @AsianHitman1 Libera is wonderful but unfortunately much of the music of the Austrian and German composers is a closed book for them. It is language problem; is it not? But then they do sing in Latin. German is a difficult language to sing in for English boys. German kids seen to manage the English without difficulty however. There many other good English and French boy choirs. Aled

  • @tuber23504 not really.. If you watch Kathie Hill clip on why boys can sing higher than girls then you understand why we have BOYS choir. This is a fun info to share so just check 'KathieHillMusic why boys can sing hingher thatn girls'. It's on Youtube. Enjoy the clip!

  • studmuffin1500...you're ignorant . Wiener Sängerknaben is German for Vienna Choir Boys...the boy's name is Christian Scholz...pay attention

  • @studmuffin1500

Even if that were his name (which it isn't, learn to read), how old are you? Ten?

  • Yes indeed, however I was recently speaking to a friend of my neighbours' who is Austrian and is a very renouned organist and was telling me that a boy's voice sounds more "Angelic" and you can note the difference if your ears are trained to. I think what he said does make sense in fact why do you think there where so many boy choirs and even today. The nice thing about girl choirs is that they can keep their soprano voice for good.

  • nice.

  • Boys and girls may have similar sounds, e.g., the tessatura; however, the sounds are not identical because of physiology. Some listeners, based upon ability and experience, are able to hear the difference. Papal States prohibited females from speaking & singing, but not necessarily other states. Boys' voices lend themselves to a sound that many composers preferred, a sound even more discernable between countertenors (Andreas Scholl) / adult male sopranos (Radu Marian) and most female singers.

  • @sfkcbf to support your point, i'd like people to check KathieHillMusic- why boys can sing higher than girls. This will help people understand more why we have boys choir and why this is a normal thing and somehow more preferrable amongst some composers.

  • I can deffinately hear a difference in boys and girls voices! There is a huge difference.

  • cool

  • Thank you for getting back to me.

  • I sang this mass. xD

  • have just listened to a few Vienna soloists-am very struck by the totally different vocal technique used compared to the Tölzer group. I wonder which one has the better long term effect on the boys' vocal health. much less forced than the Tölzer group who tend to ping high notes.

  • Good question. Maybe is healthier to sing like Wiener Sängerknaber but I rather tölzer knabenchor's soloists xD

  • dang, was that the sacrificial lamb at 0:53?

  • i call this choir boys to men

  • By any chance, do you guys, know any profesnional world wide known girl choirs? If somebody could come back with feedback, I would highly appreaciet it.

  • @ADHDfox Girls ccn't sing. Just kidding; of course they can. However in my experience in choirs and as a teacher (and it is perhaps limited) boys' voices seem to meld together better. Is it that the girls want their contribtion to be distinctive. I don't know. Check out the mixed group Vox. Very nice. Three girls and three boys. Pleasing to the eye and ear. Let me know what you think, Amigos.

    Aled

  • @ifuliki Sorry for the typo. I meant of course Vox Angeli. Maybe I'm prejudiced but I can tell the diffeence between a boy's voice and that of a girl and I do prefer a boy's voice; treble, alto or soprano. Can;t do without the distaff side of life however, can we?Aled

  • @ifuliki Yep Vox are actually very good. You are very intelligent. :)

  • @ADHDfox Well thank you. You may get an argumend from some of my family members.

  • Isn't the Vienna Boys Choir one of the best choirs? Or something..

  • Yes,one of the best boychoirs .

  • @hostclub17 more like *the* best. they really have quite a tradition and very high standards.

  • @hostclub17 Nidaros Cathedral Boys Choir from Norway I think is the best choir in Europe. They're sounding like angels, but the videos of them on youtube is very old, they are ten times better now.

  • @hostclub17 along with the philadelphia boys choir

  • @hostclub17 yes it is, dating back into the 1500s

  • @hostclub17 in the boy choir world they are pretty much considered the best.

  • @hostclub17 They was. Now Tölzer knabenchor are the best.

  • I love these guys!!!! They have such AMAZING control of their voices!!!!! One of the best choirs to ever exist.

  • I realy like the voice of boychoir

  • wow

  • I really get a kick out of this boy. He looks so natural, so ordinary. Maybe a little chubby with a mop of hair.

  • Sardonicus83

    Your existence SO WHAT !

  • There should be more boys voices on youtube' I'm a prog rock jazz freak myself and love anything from Mozart to Motor head (I,m weird, maybe it's because I'm left handed I don't know }.

But this piece of music (Mozarts coronation msss?) is something else.

    Beautiful little alto!

    Thank You for posting

  • I'm right handed and also love rock music, jazz and blues so what. :P

  • is this a piece written for alto? i thought it's for treble voice

  • There are tons of great treble and alto boy singers on YouTube. Check out Trebles and Altos on my playlist.

For example the trebles in the Choir Boys

and Libera & Petits Chanteurs a la Croix de Bois&girls singers too.

Check out Jaymi and Sam in Panis Angelicus, Vienna Choirboys (Schlaf mein Prinzchen schlaf' ein will blow you away) More examples:

    Jean Baptiste Maunier

    Michael Junior

    Joseph McManners

The kid in Allegris Miserere name unknown. Wow!

    Many, many more, ozzymandi

    Enjoy

  • @ozzymandi No, I'm right handed and absolutely revel in my weirdness. Hi, Pal, just kidding. Poor old studmuffin, he's getting it from all the knowitalls who want to demonstrate how ignorant he is. Hey, Guys, what we lack in knowledge and background we make up for in the curiosity & vigour of youth. Give the kid a break. We none of us arrived on earth with great understanding and sophistication. Mindless criticism has no place on YouTube. Thanks for listening.

    Aled

  • impossible for me to sing that kind of notes... and i am a girl...

    i am ashamed lmfaoooo

  • gosh~

    absolutely amazing!~

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • Beautiful

  • awesome

  • Amazing control and expression!

  • who is the boy alto?

  • Sorry, I have no Idea, this video is a part of

a longer video with the whole "Krönungsmesse "unfortunately,

most of this tape is gone, that is why I don't know the names of the solists.

The name Christian Scholz is given by a Former Wiener Sängerknabe.

  • i am an alto. I cant hit those notes in my dreams xD

  • Absolute beauty

  • I'd honestly love to hear you sing a high soprano C with "ease" maybe in your falsetto.

Its puberty, there are very few guys who grow to still retain their high notes.

And I seriously doubt your one of them.

So unless you have a video to prove it, don't go bragging.

  • considering ive been singing since i was 6 and am now 15 adn can still sing a soprano high c with ease, and no, i have not been castrated :)

  • that facial form is super bad (not to start a battle)

  • wonderfull...

the young boy can sing perfectly

He even better than me in sing

    his technique is mature

  • Very beautiful !

  • amzing is an understatement. . .my eyes are teary.

  • Beautiful...

  • Who is this angel? Thankyou for this sublime Mozat : there is simply not enougf boys singing on youtube they are the best. Please post more. Thankyou!

  • Truly divine!

  • Very German pronunciation and no trills!

  • Yea, I was really surprised on his first "AK-nus".

  • You must have the key for the correct pronunciation and enauciation of Latin.

  • Bravo!!!

  • He get's it, why don't we?

  • Maravilha de intrepretação. Parabéns!! Saudações do Brasil

  • our choir is doing this piece, and I happened upon this recording. I am really moved by it. the boys' vocal sound is just angelic. wonderfully done. thank you for sharing this.

  • Boys should realy sing more,I would love to hear a boy sing Exultate Jubilate.

  • I have a recording (45 rpm)of Exultate Jubilate out of 1957 sung by the Wienersängerknaben of that time. But I don't know how to post it !

    Hans NL

  • Why don't you have it copied onto tape or CD, or digitally.

  • terry wey sang it and it was wonderful.. i dunno if u can get it in youtube though

  • thankyou orion352

  • Thankyou! for this most beautiful music. Is it Mozart? if so can anyone please tell me what mass it is from. Many thanks for tis lovely music.

  • Mass in C.K. 317 "Coronation "Mass.

W.A. Mozart. This is the Agnus Dei,the last part.

  • who is the boy ALTO? i like that dour expression lol seen him in other vids too

  • This Angel, steals the heart, and takes it to Heaven

  • Richtig so! Heute nimmt das Traditionsbewusstsein immer mehr ab. Schön, dass sowas hier noch gepostet wird.

  • That kid got some chops!Bravo!

  • Oh, guter Solist!

  • I thought it was agnus dei with an spanish N

    añus dei

    is ag-nus something hochdeutsch-ish?

Aangezien men hier ook Kyrie elIJson zingt.

Mijn vraag is dus. Wat is de juiste uitspraak?

  • Je kan het op 2 manieren uitspreken:

    Italiaans-Latijn = anus dei of

    Frans-Latijn = Aknus dei.

  • Waarom frans?

    Hans NL

    Hans NL

  • haha Dat kan ik me goed voorstellen.

Theo is God trouwens.. :P

Maargoed.. precies gelijk in Nederland?

  • Maar nou even serieus. Mea culpa !

    Hans NL

  • Dimissis peccatis vestris Deus.

  • The boy's name ist Christian Scholz. The clip must be from about 1975.

  • Thank you very much for your information.

Are you a former member of the Wiener Sängerknaben too? Vielen Dank.

  • Yup...

  • i don´t know this Boy, but I know Benjamin Schmidinger, we were in the choir together...

  • Sorry, but I don't think it is Peter Jelosits. At 2:00, there is an opportunity for a trill that Peter would have sung. This is possibly Benjamin Schmidinger. The conductor is Hans Gillesberger, the tenor is the incomparable Kurt Equiluz, and the location is the Hofburgkapelle (Royal Chapel in Vienna)

  • Benjamin Schmidinger was solist in 1992-1995.

If you don't know this solist, nobody knows .

Is there somebody who knows Peter Jelosits?

  • I think the solo soprano is Peter Jelosits .

He was the Solist of the Wiener Sängerknaben in

    1970-1975.

  • I like this boy.

Bu no one should die without haven´t it with Maria Stader, whicj makes me nearly crying

  • absoluteley beautiful,thank you.

  • who's the boy soprano? amazing voice!
