Just a thought : as much as symbian is not as fast and does not have the extra widgets and apps. as android it can still be upgraded, the latest one is symbian belle and is supposed to be as good as android. Whether symbian is here to stay is questionable since is just nokia that uses it but it can still be marketed with constant /occasional upgrades.

What a piece of shit. I've had 3 of these shitboxes (all replaced under warranty) and they are the worst thing known to man. Never has the fm transmitter worked, it freezes, restarts, takes photos on its own, touch screen is terrible, reception is woeful at best. Thats just a few of the problems add the first phone that after 2 months got so hot in my pocket it almost burnt my leg... anyone that talks it up needs to be shot

I just came to say after having this phone on contract for a near 24 months, this is one of the worst phones that I have ever had. it has shit loads of problems and is extremely laggy! nokia lied when they said it could rival iphone or android. fact is, symbian os will never be able to rival those two. that being said, i will never look at nokia until they unleash a new os that can rival the rest.

I've tried all the top end devices for 2010 and 2011 and, while the N97 is no where near the GUI quality and eye candy, it just works and has been great since the day I got it. I am going to get another for backup in case the first one breaks but, I really love this device even if it's out of date and not running Droid. Oh, speaking of that, there's a hack for it to allow Droid to run on it. I recall seeing this earlier this month. Someone is doing it out there.
