I just reviewed this clip again. Erin Daniels is such a ridiculously underrated actress. Her performance in this scene is incredible - it's like she's telling a whole story with just her facial expressions; one of the HARDEST things to do as an actor is learn how to REACT in a way that creates a full story without using words. I wondered that because I thought it didn't even seem like Dana liked/wanted to be with Tonya let alone marry her so you're right that she can't let an opportunity go (or as Alice said in s1, she has bad judgement) but I also think she might have some sort of attachment problems and so clings to those who show her any form of love, hence why she'd stay with Tonya (she doesn't really know what she wants).
