@Manuelcr7 One is not better than the other. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. On the field everything we move has mass and momentum. We better learn to control it. Inertia free machines are nice because it allows us to perform high velocity movements with constant resistance. It all depends on the task needed!!!
@gottfeld i wanna work on lower body resistence/explosion exersices do they correlate to plyometrics? and mix in some speed/agility drills for my defensive lineman job rather than just strenght and conditioning
i full squat 405x4. its just hard to believe i can ballistic (1/4) squat 380lbs without breaking anything. the weight feels like 380 when im standing with it, but when i drop prior to the explosive squat, the bottom feels 'empty'.
last thing - i was able to get 2600 watts using 380 resistance. my BW is 175lbs. whats a good target to aim for. i'm training for the vertical jump.
quick question - im also using the keiser squat for power training. do you know what unit of resistance is being used? i'm using 380. im assuming the are pounds. thanks
Lbs, but because it has no mass there is no momentum. This is good and bad, Good to train explosion without putting 380 lbs with momentum through your joints on the loading phase, bad because everything in the real world is mass based especially controlling your own momentum. The majority of injuries are caused by not being able to control your own momentum.
i heard this resitance machines are better the weights!
