Rocky Athas' Lightning live @ the Granada Theater

Holy crap! I've been trying to dig up some info on Lightning forever. Mother Blues, Binary Star, Sneaky Pete's...I always liked this band. Back in the day I used a Flying V and a Peavey head. It's too bad I did so many drugs back then, I'd like to remember more...I think I had a good time.

B Star Ol' Plantation Bjou Pete's Cardi's Faces Agora etc and that was just in Dallas Also played at both Snoopys both Spencers Savvys+Joes Garage in Ft worth and every other place in a 5 state area I was bassist/vocalist for Alter Ego Krakatoa HEXX and Release So many cool places to play back then. Shared the stage with Rocky more than once here and Houston Cardis. Good times

Yep I used to go to Sneaky Pete's in Dallas back in 77-79 to see Rocky Athas and Lightning. Jeez He was looks younger now than he did then! Must have been all the smoke, smell of puke and beer goggles! Sneaky Petes was somewhat of a dive even then! What a time warp to see him again!!!

Geez.This brings back such great memories.I remember going to Mother Earth on Lamar B4 it burned down and seeing Lightning with Chris Giles, Texas, Too Smooth, US Kids, Werewolves, First State Bank, Bola Hooker, Automatic, and so many great bands. The atmosphere was just so great with the multi colored carpet squares on the floor and the best booze and prettiest girls in Austin. These kids nowadays have no idea what they missed!
