44 lbs. thats a PA state record material! I live in Montgomery county & fish the Schuykill River for cattys, There have 40 lbs. caught there however I caught my biggest 25 lbs. flatty last night after a rain storm with a trout head. we get some fat channels too, But I like Flats better
Alot of people say a oily skin fish like chubs and suckers are a better choice in the fall time, and that may be. The logic behind it makes alot sense. My experience has been if you throw a live bait close to the fish on most nights they will eat it spring, summer, or fall. I believe the exception to be the the shad run on the very lower streachs of the river.
Thanks for the comment Md. You can go wrong with chubs. We use gills most of time, but when I come across some chubs or any fish legal and big enough to be bait I will happily throw it in the bucket.
cool video man, i just started targeting flatties on the susky last fall, caught a few in the 20+ range, I was using live creek chubs, was wondering what you guys were using, i hope to get some video this year, went out this morning and caught 5 smallies and two walleyes, tight lines!
