Where exactly is this in Hamlet NC. I would like to come there and railfan. How heavy is the rail traffic here?

@tdluvs I love going to Hamlet.
But, traffic varies. Wednesday and Thursday are the best two days in my opinion.
There are quite a bit of trains though.

the last train is f701 WSSB.
Nice compilation of videos! 2nd train was Q698, 4th train was Q616.

Did you see those exact trains that day?
What day were you in Hamlet. I saw a Q698 with a ES44AC and SD40-2, just like yours. And Q616 with a Dash 8W and a Dash 8, so I assume they were the same trains.
Hmm, it was sometime in August. I think it was that first Wednesday of the month.
I saw both trains on Tuesday, August 4, the day before you saw them.

Do you know how many trains go by here a day?

About 65
I was there back in November last year. That was a LOT of footwork running around the middle of the wye getting in position for each shot.

Since that was my first time I mainly stayed by the station but in Part two and maybe three I moved to other locations. Thanks for the comment!
