$350 Thats for everything except the corals. The corals you could get them real cheap from local reef clubs.Or craiglist and the live rock.Be careful with flatworms once there in your system very hard to get rid of.Here's a list all the items I used.1Tank $13,2Light current USA t5 ho $115, 3Filter $28,4Heater $30. 5 Stand $70. 6 livesand naturrs ocean $49.7 live rock $60 I think thats it.Good luck.Happy Reefing:-D
The filter that I use know is the new fluval c2,c3,and c4 real nice filters can use them for a reef. The best price for this is Amazon.com great low prices.Too expensive if you go to pet stores. And protein skimmers you dont teally need one if you stay under 30 gallons.
Looks good! I noticed in your first vid you were thinking of removing the bio-wheel. I'd definitely remove it as well. You probably won't even have a need for aerobic bacteria in that tank, the live rock and sand will be enough. I ran a 10 gal nano for a few years with a power filter refugium. I just took the media out, slowed down the flow, added a light, live rock, and some chaetomorpha algae... for a few bucks, it was fantastic! Plus its great for "critters."
@hhinojosareef1 A refugium should have the most contact possible. So the bacteria has ample time to do its job. Your powerhead should provide enough flow for the tank in general.
what kind of stuff do you have in your filter? and what kind is it?
