You are really great with handling your Carpet Python !!! I've had snakes for 50 years and it's easy to spot a natural :O) They are REALLY active and it takes awareness to keep up with them for sure. Love their temperaments and personalities. My new baby female Coastal, Jade has that same M pattern on her head and I can't wait til she's old enough to breed with Chewy. I bought her from Bhb Reptiles, where Chewy came from for that purpose because Chewy deserves to mate as awesome as he is.
Hey man nice vid and beautiful snake! I hope to b picking up my first jungle at the reptile expo in November. I had a couple questions. How much bigger do the females get than males and is either sex more agressive than the other typically? Thanks!
@reptileaddict998 Hey thanks, umm theres not a big difference between males and females in size, but I have heard that males can be calmer then females. I honestly haven't tested, but as you saw in the vid thats a female haha
Awesome video, she's got some great color! Hey, how often do you feed her? Once a week, or less often? I think I may be getting one soon. My corn snake and ball python I feed once a week, but looking online for info on carpet pythons, I've seen people say once a week, or every other week. What do you think?
@boundforafrica well, as an adult there could eat once every other week, and be satisfied, but at this size they should eat a good size meal once a week
@Midnight2534 oooo at that size they can be quite a pain to tame, but um basically its all about commiting when your going to pick them up. Just go from the side and if they strike it will most likely be a head bud but can be a fall on strike. You can use gloves but at that size it will take longer then if you got it as a neonate. Good Luck!
sick snake man. do you feed it live food or pre killed? i have one about a year old but it doesnt wanna eat pre killed. i dont know weather to feed it live food or not.
@CornSnake102 damn cuz mine doesnt want to eat frozen it rejects it. it turns away from it all the time. i tried puting it in a paper bag and leaving it in the tank for a while to see if it would eat, but it didnt. i fed it a live mouse today and it ate it just fine.
@lsazcona well there are humane ways like the pet store i get mine from have a CO2 can. but the other ways im not to fond of like hitting it with tongs or putting it in a bag. it just seems barbaric
@CornSnake102 hey how u doing? i tried feeding it after using the co2 can but it still doesnt wanna eat. i think mine just like eating live. do u know any other way i can try to get it to eat prekilled? any advice would be great thanks
Sasha is just totally gorgeous and I'm actually making my first YouTube request with all the subscribers I have and friends this is honestly my first request. PLEASE make more videos of Sasha!!! She is a great example of a healthy carpet and shows how calm and inquisitive they are and their body language and mechanics is just totally amazing. Thank you :O)
@WTZReptiles A carpets shed doesn't stretch like most other snakes. A snakes girth and body thickness has a lot to do with the elasticity of the skin that is shed and carpets are very sleek not thick thus there is little stretching. My carpet is almost 7 feet long and to measure his sheds they are NO more than two or three inches longer than his full body length.
5000*s Sasha looks incredible love her colors they are so vibrant and stunning. What a beauty she is!!!! Sasha and Chewy are really VERY close in size and length Chewy is a little over five feet now. Thank you for the shout out on Chewy :O) You're doing a GREAT job with Sasha!!!

@lsazcona this is my only carpet, and i would not recomend feeding live rats or even mice because they have large teeth. she eats frozen just fine

@lsazcona hmm hes a real problem feeder. you could always try rubbing a live rat against, or make sure it is very warm and wiggle it around a lot

beuatiful snake but the shed can stretch twenty percent when it has shed. So the snake is probably like four foot 3 not four foot nine.

Ya I know...I though I mentioned that in the vid but I guess nott
