  • I have seen this on another blog website and tried it. It blew my mind away. Although I did not have any slicer , i had to use a knife to slice them thinly. FYI, YOU MUST SLICE THINLY people. Otherwise it wouldn't crisp properly! You'd just have a cooked potato instead. Anyways. Lovely when seasoned, and makes me feel good about myself. No more greasy crap.

  • eeeeeeeeeeeew you eat ssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nasty

  • Didnt work at all for me

  • parnips crisps taste real yummy too.

  • Crisps are good for Childrens taste buds it's most likely to have them , not much but still have them . Some crisps can sometimes be healthy

    (LOL)

  • tip: if you use silicon-plate, you don't have to use any oil.

  • youre cool

  • Since I made again chips today I just wanted to say: THANK YOU!

I figured it out right at the first time. A medium sized Russet potato, sliced with the cucumber slicer, prepare wright away 2 plates with a bit oil, season the chips.

3 minutes on one side, 2 minutes after I turned them around. They are crispy, light brown and it smells phantastic. I love mine with a dip made of sour cream, finely chopped onions and some chives in it.

I looooooooooooooove it! No guilt anymore while eating chips

  • this is absolutely amazing. thanks for sharing. Yes, the tip with the olive oil should be at the beginning. *lol*

  • the dirtiest chef i have ever seen, erghhhh

  • What a fantastic idea!

  • can u use just an ordanery plate??

  • @johannjokull In response to a five day old comment, if you do not oil the plate, they WILL stick (like they did close to the end of the video) and they are hard to get off. Personal experience talking here, I didn't watch the video closely enough before going to try it the first time.

  • Man! u eat like a dog!!

    great illustration. thanks!! :)

  • the plate makes me sick

  • nice job thanx!!

  • NO NEED TO GO TO THE STORE!!

  • why is your plate so disgusting do you wash?

  • @Brian567899 It'd just be the paprika because as the video said she had already made some before filming

  • i've just tried this and it actually works! My family loved it and we're eating it now and its so delicious and crispy

  • lier i wasted a whole patato

  • omg ive just tried this IT REALLY WORKS EVRYONE I cut my potatoe with a cheese slice so they were slightly thicker did 5 min then flipped then another 5 min and they just like crisps ( uk talk for potatoe chips) . Tip : just do it for longer if they are still soggy but keep an eye on them as thet can burn!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @eyeeatpoopiee Lol agreeeeee n_n ;P

  • People, calm down about the dirty plate. 0:26 "...this wasn't my first round of chips..." Meaning she already just made some and then reused the same plate for a second batch. It isn't that big of a deal anyway...

  • @waterchicklet YAR PLATE IS DIRTY DUDE ! IT'S LIKE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU PUKE O-o

  • wut that red shit u put

  • I tried this twice yesterday! Once with paprika and salt... the next with salt, paprika, seasoned salt, and lemon pepper! So GOOD!!!!!

  • Sounds yummy! :)

  • Tried this today with potato skins ^__^

let's just say I might have to try the recipe again with only the inside of the potato ;)

however the idea is genius, thanks a lot! x

  • I don't think the skins have enough moisture in them. :)

  • Is there a way to stop them from catching fire? I tried making chips in the microwave once, but there were sparks and they scared me

  • Don't cook them as long? You have to watch them. :)

  • im gonna try that with sweet potatoes too!!!

  • omg yum!!!

  • Wow Heather this idea is awesome. I definately have to try that this weekend. I'm sitting here eating french fries LOL. This huge dragon came and put them in front of me you see, and he said if I didn't eat them he'd burn me to a crisp. So natureally, I'm obeying. :-P

  • Dragons eh? I'll send you some dragon repellent. ;) Psst.... slicing mini potatoes with the skins left on + 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a 400 degree oven for 20 - 25 minutes makes the best french fries (and you get a ton more than a fast food place or frozen bag.) Having them tonight!

  • omg wow, thank you so much for this video! I've never heard of anyone making chips in a micro. I made about three rounds right now, and I've only used half a potato which is 55 cals...they taste really good too. my micro takes about 5 minutes, and I'm satisfied after the second batch..thank you so much..great portion control too because only so many fit on the plate lol

  • Oh wow.. I just made these and they are SOOOOOOOOOO good. Wow

  • Glad you liked em! :)

  • OMG...this is the coolest idea ever!!! I had no idea that this was even possible...wow....thanks for the video...potato chips rock!!

  • aah mouth noises (when you're eating the chips, obviously)! =|

    hehe sorry.

i really have to try this sometime though =)

  • Oh my God they look fab I am going to try them tomorrow.Yum!Yum!

  • Hope you liked em! :)

    suzzanne

  • Holy Batman!! This is genisus. I have been using the caveman method of the oven! I am making them now!!

  • HOLY COW! That is so cool! I cannot wait to try this! I learn so many cool things on YouTube! lol. Have a nice week! Great Vid

  • These look so yummy! I'll have to try this out and see what I think of them :) I usually do them in the oven but it takes ages.

  • i must go get me a potato peeler.

  • Report back! ;)

  • Um my first comment didn't go through?? ;_; whyyyyyyyy

This is so awesome!! I AM OBSESSED. I need to procure a potato...

    Thank you!

p.s. 1 oz of chips is about 14 chips.

yes... I count them when I'm at parties >.>

  • I hope they turn out! :)

  • this is going to be my next project! ive been craving for chips but im sticking with my low fat diet! thanks for this.

  • Awesome I hope you like it! :)

  • i failed! i used sweet potato and made this in my oven toaster with temperature. they burn quickly :( i guess it only works in microwave.

  • Aw, thats too bad. I would guess it's because microwave heat is much different from oven type heat. Thank for trying! :)

  • I tried them and burnt some in the beginning but after a few tries I was really happy with the results. =D My sis was like where did you learn to do this? and loved them! I just wish I could fit more on the plate to cook lol.

  • I know, thats the downfall of them fitting more on a plate. So glad you persevered and enjoyed them! :)

  • Thankz Alot !!!!

    Taste and work very good

  • Glad you enjoyed them! :)

  • wow, had no idea microwave could do da job. THANKS!

  • You are very welcome! :)

  • OKAY from a woman who after her WW weighin promptly went to buy a container of PRINGLES (ugh!) you wont believe this but I just got done MAKING these and I cant believe how incredibly GOOD they are!! I scared the dog and the bunny by making noise in the kitchen.. but oh well.. oh my.. such potential. thanks!! ~Angel

  • They do take some work, but they in a pinch are much healthier! :) Glad you enjoyed them! :)

  • YUM!

    :-)

  • Will defo be having a try at these - my children will love them

  • The chips they sell in the stores are just ridiculous with all the salt, MSG, wheat and whatnot they put in them. I don't know how they can call them "potato" chips. THESE are real potato chips. Right on. Fat Free too.

  • And they are gooooood! ;)

  • YUM, I might try this! You should totally submit this to SparkRecipes too, if you've got the time!

  • You should try it for sure. Somebody beat me to it at Spark though. Oh well.. :)

  • Okay, and what power (watts) should I set my microwave if cooking for 3 minutes?

  • I used high power.

  • And my microwave is 1000 watts.

  • Wow... those do look good. I will have to try them out.

  • W.O.W. Those look yummy. And I can't have them :( But I can make some fore my kids :) Thanks for sharing.

    Rayvin

  • You are very welcome, I hope they like em! :)

  • Mm, must try!

  • Remember to tell me what you think if you do try em! :)

  • Wow, great recipe! I will try this.

  • these look good, gonna have to try. They sound good (crunch, crunch, lol). thanks for the idea :)

  • Let me know if you try em. They really have great potato flavor, even plain. :)

  • Wow!

    I am impressed!

I never would have thought you can make chips in a microwave.

I am definitely going to try this!

Thanks for sharing this with us!

  • Me neither, but I was pretty impressed by how good these were. Let me know what you think of them if you try em!

  • YUMMY! I can't wait to make these....damnit I didn't get potatos today at the grocery! CRAP! I will make them sometime this week....thanks girl! :-0

  • No potatoes in the house? Madness! Simply madness... ;)

  • Looks like your on the road of making some POUTINE! EH? find me the diet gravy and curds... and I will make this one Heather... LOL! =) R

  • Poutine is too evil to have regularly or rather the cheese part, but I DO have fries and gravy a lot. I make the fries myself and bake em, flavor em, then I use powdered gravy - 70 calories a half cup - (I found one made in Alberta that takes a bit like KFC). When they roll out a decent low calorie cheese you won't get me to shut up about it.... ;)

  • Very interesting cooking technique, but not for me. Potatoes got put on my list of "no no" foods. They aren't good calorie restriction food.

The video was great as usual.

  • Well in that case, they are very yucky... don't give them a second thought. ;)
