I have seen this on another blog website and tried it. It blew my mind away. Although I did not have any slicer , i had to use a knife to slice them thinly. FYI, YOU MUST SLICE THINLY people. Otherwise it wouldn't crisp properly! You'd just have a cooked potato instead. Anyways. Lovely when seasoned, and makes me feel good about myself. No more greasy crap.
man o man i literally tried this microwave thing man o man they came out nice n crunchy... after 3 rounds of 3 mins my microwave burnt out...thanks!!!! now i have to go to target n get me a new microwave, n some bags of potato chips...
Since I made again chips today I just wanted to say: THANK YOU!
I figured it out right at the first time. A medium sized Russet potato, sliced with the cucumber slicer, prepare wright away 2 plates with a bit oil, season the chips.
3 minutes on one side, 2 minutes after I turned them around. They are crispy, light brown and it smells phantastic. I love mine with a dip made of sour cream, finely chopped onions and some chives in it.
I looooooooooooooove it! No guilt anymore while eating chips
@johannjokull In response to a five day old comment, if you do not oil the plate, they WILL stick (like they did close to the end of the video) and they are hard to get off. Personal experience talking here, I didn't watch the video closely enough before going to try it the first time.
omg ive just tried this IT REALLY WORKS EVRYONE I cut my potatoe with a cheese slice so they were slightly thicker did 5 min then flipped then another 5 min and they just like crisps ( uk talk for potatoe chips) . Tip : just do it for longer if they are still soggy but keep an eye on them as thet can burn!!!!!!!
People, calm down about the dirty plate. 0:26 "...this wasn't my first round of chips..." Meaning she already just made some and then reused the same plate for a second batch. It isn't that big of a deal anyway...
Shanti mentioned this and I had to watch your video. That is so awesome! I am going to try this. I have no potatos right now but will buy some soon just for this! THanks

THAT"S DISCUSTING!!!! nasty fake ass. here's a better recipe than that nonsense!!! 1. get in the car, 2. Go to King Soopers 3. Go to the chip isle 4. grab a bag of LAYS POTATO CHIPS 5. pay 6. open bag 7. EAT good chips that don't taste of ass.
Wow Heather this idea is awesome. I definately have to try that this weekend. I'm sitting here eating french fries LOL. This huge dragon came and put them in front of me you see, and he said if I didn't eat them he'd burn me to a crisp. So natureally, I'm obeying. :-P
Dragons eh? I'll send you some dragon repellent. ;) Psst.... slicing mini potatoes with the skins left on + 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a 400 degree oven for 20 - 25 minutes makes the best french fries (and you get a ton more than a fast food place or frozen bag.) Having them tonight!
omg wow, thank you so much for this video! I've never heard of anyone making chips in a micro. I made about three rounds right now, and I've only used half a potato which is 55 cals...they taste really good too. my micro takes about 5 minutes, and I'm satisfied after the second batch..thank you so much..great portion control too because only so many fit on the plate lol
I tried them and burnt some in the beginning but after a few tries I was really happy with the results. =D My sis was like where did you learn to do this? and loved them! I just wish I could fit more on the plate to cook lol.
