I have 2 LD610 lights. One problem I found with extensive commuting was that a pothold snapped the internal PCB. :-(
Apart from that, if you can weave around the nasties and the arghorribles, its a really good light. The 1100 unit is the only cateye that beats it imo.
I'm upgrading my lights soon - Race Maxx 2 and a redeye rear. The tesco torch is still pretty good too.
Can I suggest the Busch & Muller IQ Speed. I have one in my Mango velomobile and it's good enough for commuting in the dark at a sustained 40 km/h.
The special shape of the lens makes a huge difference. Distant objects are as well lit as those nearby and there is a very sharp cut off at the top of the beam. This means you can have it aimed at a good distance away without dazzling anyone. Round lenses don't do this.
