  • @quelaag dear quelaag i love nito killed your sisters aka quelana and the white thing

    your freind,

    hellsingme (gamertag)

  • (continued) possibly reversing the process of hollowing, instead of changing the fact that you're hollow.

  • I'm thinking "First of the dead" isn't necessarily a chronological thing. I think more like the "premier of the dead", seeing as how he's the Lord of the dead basically. Also, perhaps the dark sign is what actually links the undead to humanity, and going completely hollow removes your dark sign, therefore removing humanity altogether, and allowing you to die. The crestfallen warrior states you're "Almost Hollow" at the start, so "Reverse Hollowing" could be explained by (continued)

  • Nito is the first of the dead...is that like he is the first creature and the first who tasted death?

  • Actually Nito may be based on Hades the Greek Lord of the Dead and God of the Underworld mostly because he was tricked by his brothers Zeus and Poseidon by making his lot shorter when they were choosing who would rule what so maybe Nito was related to Gwyn somehow like his brother or cousin or something.

  • @Suzumushi100 Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Though I feel Nito is more vengeful than Hades was. Nito is scheming to overthrow his brother. Hades was like "Yo dog its chill I got my wife and we'll just kick it~"

  • @Suzumushi100 Er not brother - Gwyn. I don't think there is a relation though. :O

  • Also, 8:05 Dog knows you're being watched!

  • I scanned the comments on this one, but didn't quite see this... Nito is the 'first of the dead', nothing about undead. I don't have an explanation as to what that is supposed to mean exactly, but I would guess that he took a Lord's soul first, but since he was hasty he did not grab the strongest (that would be Gwyn). I speculate that Nito desires to take Gwyn down, ruling instead, and is doing so through the use of Necromancy.

  • @HazelrahFirefly Yeah there obviously seems to be some form of power struggle between everyone who ended up with a lord's soul. I really wish Nito's presence was as potent as Izalith's though. I'm also curious about Rhea going into the Catacombs / ToG first on her "mission". Especially since there were many people after Nito's power.

  • @Quelaag Not to pick on the gameplay during story discussion, but I feel like Nito's presence would be better felt if his Covenant performed properly lol. If the world went 'black' far more often and the players were told upon it happening that, 'A Gravelord of Nito's has Infected Your World,' he would be taken more seriously. I can't explain Rhea. Perhaps she was supposed to be strong with holy power... but weak in confidence/ability? Obviously influenced by Gwyn/Llyod, as you know

  • @HazelrahFirefly Interesting food for thought: All fire maidens are female. Rhea's mission is to help keep the flames lit by kindling them. However, the fact that she begins in the catacombs always struck me as weird. Also the fact that she's the one who holds the "pendant" item. There's something important about her and I can't figure it out.

  • @HazelrahFirefly I'm thinking "First of the Dead" isn't a chronological thing. More like the premier of the dead.

  • so why do the enemies respawn when you sit down?

  • @Nickkins Haha, because game mechanics! Though I'd like to think its because you're taking time to "rest" at a bonfire - possibly for an extended period of time - that new troops or demons have secured a location that you cleared. That was sort of the same concept of returning to the Nexus or dying in Demon's Souls.

  • @Quelaag Well, they also say that the flow of time is broken, so when you rest at a bonfire, it probably affects it. That's probably why ennemies respawn. It is also why you can see message left by other people, their ghost, bloodstain, etc.

  • Nito looks quite cute in that picture. If I knew how, I would make myself a Nito plushie.

  • Hey i have on last question . Why was Quelaag a big spider. What happened ?

  • @Baller527 They chose a spider because of Japanese mythology. "Jorogumo" is the term. But they became Jorogumo because Izalith tried to recreate the first flame.

  • Maybe the concept of you being "the chosen hollow" that surpasses gwym, maybe your more human than hollow even if you die, because if you go totally hollow you wont have control of yourself. You would just be another hollow roaming around aimlessly, so being the chosen one has its perks lol idk just my opinion

  • all i know is the pinwheel guys an the necromancers stole his powers.....:(

  • Anything about the pendant??

  • @gringosky The translation fix isn't out yet in NA. So we'll see.

  • also, your Nito makes me want so bad to be one of the gravelord's servant again >:3

  • @felclef you should be one. it's SO FUN to get invaded by more than 1 person at a time, and the only cool ways to do that are either through darkmoon covenant (they usually fight dirty cuz they can't get indicted though -_- ) or through an eye of death. i'm not in the gravelord covenant right now cuz i'm getting the darkwraith armour, but all jokes aside, imma join gravelord covenant again. it's just frikin awesome.

  • keep the good work, you rock :D

  • Have you thought about doing a video for 4King, Sif, Alvina, and/or Artorias?

  • @UltraTien Yeah. I kind of want to make boss videos. I should also do ending ones to kind of wrap it all up.

  • i like the drawings

  • Don't stop making videos :,(

  • @TheWavebird :'c It must happen.

  • @Quelaag Well it does seem like Nito was worshipped by humans as there are frozen skeles right outside his boss area I only assume they were human is because they wernt animated and theres no hint to Nito's story in the Eye of death andd you forgot to do the Forest area type deal :( All youd really have to do is Aritorias thou as the forest is based around him

  • @Quelaag And Sorry was too lazy to type @Quelaag out manually i feel bad and Yeah i really like your videos so dont stop making them :(

  • Oh hey, any chance we could hear about Sen's Fortress? Is there some mythology behind it?

  • @reDustt Its like the minos kingdom if it were to lead to the entrance to mount olympus.

  • @reDustt Sen´s Fortress is a proving ground of the Gods, this is stated by Andre when you talk to him after youve unlocked the entrance into the Fortress.

It should also be noted that it works as another dungeon for Seath, as the key to the Cages states that the Undead who get tired / or cannot complete the trial are locked away in cages to either be transported into Duke´s Archives as test subjects for Seath, or just simply wither in the cages for all eternity.

  • The best way I've heard it described is thus:

Undead are those with the darksign. They don't die.

Nito is god over the Dead. Not the undead. His skeletons are dead completely.

  • @kiwislob Exactly. From chose to call him the first undead which is just a poor choice of words.

  • @Quelaag Are you sure? I thought the dialogue in the opening sequence (is it referenced elsewhere?) said he was "The first of the dead."

Certainly I view the skeletons as little more than puppets. They're at the very least kept "alive" by necromancers and Nito himself. Initially I thought as well that you recieved no souls from them due to their being no life. But then you do get souls from the big ones. :P

  • @kiwislob Hah! If so my hearing is terrible. I thought it was "Nito the first undead"

  • @Quelaag Eh... I used subtitles. Haha.

  • Which not quick

  • The eye of death infects 3 worlds at a time. Quick turn enemies into blk phantoms. Ya know

  • I'm offended with your drawing of my lord lol jk

  • d'aaaw look at how fuzzy he is

  • Egads, Nito's looking rather cute there.

  • Poor Nito, having part of his powers stolen by that weakling Pinwheel. 4 shots with raw halberd.

  • @Quelaag they patched the glitch with the eye items where you dont lose the item if you fail in connection.

This next part is partialy inference. But i think Nito is literaly the first being with a soul that died.

I dont think pinwheel was against him either. It may be he was a servant of nito who was helping to undermind kindeling efforts in preperation for an "Age of Death" as opposed to ages of fire and dark

  • @Valisk01

Im thinking all of the Lords are trying their hardest to prevent the Age Of Men. My thoughts are that the gods are in a sense toying with natural powers that were supposed to have been born from the Flames of the Dragons, while the special Dark Soul is either a Demon Soul or the actual "Human spirit".

When you link these fires, leave the First Flame unlit and walk out youre basically returning the natural order of the world. As the curse of the darksign lapses.

  • Nito holds that sword I thought. I don't think it's actually part of his arm. Nito is such a cool character tho, he looks so badass. Yeah but watch that opening cinematic and I think he points the sword with his hand. No big deal and I could be wrong.

  • ReeeeeeACH FOR THE SKY!!!!

  • My opinion is that there's two definition of "undead":

    1)Undead from the Nito perspective = literally undead as in "living-dead", he wants to take over the world (or something) with his undead-skeletons minions;

    2) Undead from the human perspective = Pygmy descendants with the Dark sign yaddi yadda, pretty much the player himself who cannot die nor turn hollow (read = turn insane);

  • @MichelKobayashi :) Thanks what I assume - it can be very confusing on the surface for most people.

  • Bandito Nito.

  • YOU'RE MY FAVORITE DEPUTY

  • Do a nice Queelag drawing + vlog vid now :D

  • @bobolandi I did one on Izalith.
