Romania wasn't fully occupied in WWI,the leadership retreated to Iasi,after suffering heave losses against the armies of Bulgaria,Austro-Hungary and Germany united.Furthermore,I don't think Russia had huge losses of land even after it sign a peace treaty.But in rest,it's great.

@fp470 Maybe. All I was saying was the Czar wasn't much willing to budge from his absolute monarchy. We organized a parliament known as the Duma but every time they wanted to make changes the Czar closed it down. The Russian Empire was too oppressive and did not give much freedoms especially to the working class which for all intents and purposes was still serfs (they had to pay a tax for freedom). Something would have to give eventually. If the Czar yielded power than it could have survived

The Germans were simply beaten in 1917-1918 at a time when the ball was still very much in Germany's court. It was not until the Entente had shut down a number of side shows that they could deveote their attention and better leaders to the Western Front!

This video has many mistakes and is damaging to the truth of the war. the Germans were in this war for continental territory. In the 1880s and 1890s the toyed with overseas colonies but they realised they had started the race to late and all the best spots were taken. The germans defeated the Russians and seized Russian territory. The Germans would have gone on to annex Belgium and possibly more French territory.

@VuDu4000 the reason why germany captured all that territory was when russia asked for an armistice the terms of the treaty was that germany would gain land (estonia all the way down to the ukraine) but thank to the allies on the Western front ukraine was saved and stayed in russia (with new name Soviet Union) and all the baltic states became Poland
