  • he doesnt understand what economists do....

  • I just heard McAuliffe speak at the Darden School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. He was energetic and charismatic, but there was businessman, wheeler-and-dealer quality to him. He is one of those slick political strategists who ultimately perverts what government leadership should be. It turns into name-dropping, calculated spin and fundraising. Though I support his "Democratic" initiatives, I am embarassed that he has put his hat in the ring for Virginia Gov.

  • I find it a bit funny to see the former chair of the Democratic Party saying that the consensus of academic economists "doesn't matter." Most Dems walk around with their noses in the air and are so proud of their claims that they are the party of logic and intellect and Republicans go by emotion and scorn the experts. It looks like when political points can be scored, Dems will ignore reason and facts just as much as they acuse Republicans of doing.

  • The gas tax holiday proposal is an empty gesture. Terry McAuliffe is a political spinmeister of the worst kind. Hillary Clinton got desperate and turned to populist sloganeering in order to shore up her failing campaign. The voters saw it for what it was. That is why she is no longer in this race.

  • what a damn ass... I can't believe these ppl are running this country... no wonder Clinton is losing this election. All her advisors are idiots... Obama is the Smart choise ppl...

  • What a twat!

  • TOAST!

  • This McAuliffe prick is one toddle poop with a big mouth. Fucking crook.

  • This guy is a comedian... Absolutely hilarious... What did he smoke?!

  • This is bullshit.

  • Economists are elitists! We don't need them! We have McCain and Hillary for that!

  • grapplerke you're an elitist snob. :D

  • Mccadaffy is clown!

Stop spending people's moneys for Chelsea's future. Hillary can keep lending herself another 6.4 MILLION dollars to her campaign.

sTOP using other people's money for your own daughter's field trip... use your own!!!

learn how to pump your own gas! your own coffee! this is not a kingdom.

    OUT OF TOUCH....crooks!

  • Support Freedumb!

    Support our OOPS!

    Support Dumbocracy!

  • What an idiot.

  • Why listen to economists in matters of the economy? What could they possibly have to say?

  • Hillary you fu*ked the black vote!

Hispanics, the largest voting block, are watching and taking names.

Clintons and the pussy democratic delegates:

NO olvidaremos el racismo que explotan para ganar votos! Now blacks, then hispanics....

    asians are stupid.

  • i don't even know what to start with ...

  • McAuiffe, is an idiot! It is about economic birdbrain!!!

  • I am so sick of a Clinton or a Clinton toady saying "I feel your pain" that I could puke!

They are running the same bull story they used in the 90s! Terry Mac daddy is too rich to speak for anybody but his golf buddies Steve Winnck from Global Crossing, and the Eletrical Worker's Union guy who put up 39 million to Terry's 100 dollars for a "partnership"!

They make me sick! LIARS OF THE 90S, never leave or fade!

  • You're right, Canadian whiskey is much better now I guess. American Burbon just ain't no good no more. I am sure folk in Louisville, Kentucky would love to have a drink a Crown Royals with Hillary for the photographers.

Look at me-- I'm just like you, even if I make 15 million per year.

  • Right-- Canadian Whiskey!

Right, as Bill cuts deals with Canadian mining Billionaires and that woman he is taking to lunch... What's her name? Belinda (one of the richest women in the world, helping foul up US politics).

Canada-gate helped her steal Ohio and Texas with the LIE about Goolsebee calling Canada while Hillary's staff WAS CALLING CANADA!

May as well honor the Candian whiskey makers!

  • Let me congratulate this Terry MacAliffe for turning $100 dollars into $2.5 million with the Electrician's Union pension fund in a real estate partnership.

Terry's 18 million from Global Crossing stock was a sweatheart deal too!

And Hillary on her $1,000 dollar investment that returned $100,000 in the futures markets by "front running" (insider trading).

Every American should get such opportunity to reach such American dreams.

With these Dixie Democrats, some things never change!

  • Russerts' son just took a job with James Carvelle, the chicken head democrat political consultant that put Bill Clinton in office on a foundation of lies. Looks like some things never change.

Incess used to be a universal taboo-- but not anymore in America!

  • Newsflash: Top Clinton Advisor-Super Delegate Terry MacAiffle turned a $100 dollar investment into $2.5 million on the sale of his commerical real estate in FL.

Clinton friend, Bob Johnson, turned his $15,000 dollar investment into $3 billion selling BET (Black Exploitation TV) to Viacom. He shills for Hill now.

Hillary turned $1,000 dollars into $100,000 dollars trading futures with Don Tyson's the Chicken king.

That Clinton clan sure know how to get things done... (for themselves)!

  • And when more bridges come crashing down, where will Clinton stand on a gas tax holiday? Did she forget, or is she simply too stupid to understand, that the gas tax is what pays to maintain our transportation infrastructure. She seriously just lost my confidence.

  • What, you trust engineers to tell you about the necessity of maintaining infrastructure? Don't trust economists and don't trust engineers! Trust the working class gal you want to have a shot of Crown Royal with. She knows better than all those "elitists" who are out of touch, like all those scientists from the universities. My God, where is America going???

  • CORNBALL.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaa, the gas tax is a JOKE... A JOKE, what don't we understand.

  • Temporary relief? How the fuck does that work? She's for temporary relief? How about FIX the problem than provide temporary relief. You know what Temporary relief does? Nothing in the long term. Why is she for temporary relief why doesn't she try and fix something than use a policy that HAS BEEN PROVEN TO FAIL.

  • Keep talking that jibe makaisenki. Barack Obama is the band-aid candidate. Barack has no long term plans for health care, terrorism, Iraq, or oil companies for that matter. He's a foolish talking head.

  • His long term plan for Iraq is to slowly get out of there while working with government and other countries to rebuild. His long term plan for health care is to adapt the health care plans that congress men have to provide health care that is guarenteed and will not discount due to pre-existing conditions. His plan on terrorism is to actually attack terrorists instead of going to the wrong country. His plans to help with the oil problems are to provide cash to citizens to help afford the costs.

  • Ok... everyone who says that Hillary's gas tax plan is good... you're dead wrong. All it will do is drive oil prices up, and even if it doesn't do that the average family would save about $28. Like Barack Obama said, "It's a political gimmick." And also... I trust the economists who make they're living off knowing what is happening in the economy.

  • Both Hillary Clinton and John McCain support a gas tax holiday, even though it's bad policy. That should tell you something about what it be like if either candidate won the White House.

  • I know Barack is probably also supported by the fascist party of America, but he shouldn't be pandering to them like this. Its simply irresponsible to hand more power to the oil companies, just because his campaign is financed by them.

  • Aim Low! really low.

    Bloomberg's quote was the best:

"It's about the dumbest thing I've heard in an awful long time, from an economic

point of view," Bloomberg told reporters at City Hall. "We're trying to discourage

people from driving and we're trying to end our energy dependence ... and we're trying to have more money to build infrastructure."

Barack should have mentioned the Minnesota bridge collapse as a rebuttal. We need that cash to ensure a lack of fall apart.

  • You can't just tell people not to drive in rural America. That's about the dumbest, most out of touch quote I've seen this whole campaign. Obama preaching about Hillary Clinton's short term solutions, is like McDonalds judging Whole Foods over the nutritional quality of its food. Vote for REAL change Indiana and North Carolina! Vote Hillary!

  • I've made that exact point to many people, but what you're missing here is that Hillary is making political hay. This is smoke and mirrors, because she cannot deliver on this. Bush would veto it, he's already said it. Your class war analogy is laughable, Hillary grew up in a snooty exclusively white suburb, has NEVER suffered the indignity of racism, and has NEVER been financially disadvantaged, yet she's the voice of the common people? How? Noblesse Oblige? This is crap and you know it.

  • moejardines has obviously been watching a little too much Oprah. Sorry, just because Barack Obama is black doesn't mean he's lived a less privilaged life than Hillary Clinton. You can take your racism to the pulpit at Trinity Church. The rest of America will look to the future for its solutions.

  • I don't watch Oprah pal, quit being a hater. If you don't recognize that black folks are treated poorly in many subtle and not so subtle ways in this country you're intellectually dishonest. You don't think that Barack took crap because of his skin? Obama was never grindingly poor, but Hillary hasn't ever been in the same hemisphere as poor. If I hear another white douchebag trying to equate the trinity thing with institutional anti-black racism in the US I will puke.

  • I think you're intellectually dishonest if you think Barack Obama has led an unprivileged life, or been more disadvantaged than Hillary Clinton. Really, that's the exact type of race card the Obama campaign has been playing for months now. Making white people feel guilty won't solve the country's problems, nor will it end racism. We need a president who actually tackles issues, and has the experience to accomplish something for the American people.

  • Go Shillary elsewhere zeiters20. No one wants your inanae BS babble, since everyone knows you're a Hillary spam attack account by looking at your channel. You're not discussing this "Gas Tax Holiday" clip. If you were, this silly pandering policy that not ONE econmist supports, might make you question the very reasons you support her. I doubt it, since you seem determined even in the face of facts. Please stay on topic...

  • Bolegernow I'm not going you any B arack S hit. Just the truth about why Hillary is the best candidate.

  • Why on this clip? It deals with supporting a silly pandering toothless "Gas Tax Holiday" policy which not ONE SINGLE economist supports. It's like placing a band-aid on a severed arm. $30 over the summer doesn't help when afterwards oil companies dial up the price. Fix the problem, not create more with bad policy. Please address the gas tax issue...

  • Wow. Clearly, Obamacins are obviously enamored by seeing a black man who can talk that they can't think straight. This gas break would be paid for by a windfall tax on the oil companies. We have to give Obamacins some time though, before they understand the politics of the situation and go back to McCain.

  • The Clinton team pretty much assumes that most voters are dumb fucks whose vote can be bought with the illusion of saving 30$ over a whole year. If that's the best they can do to win the nomination, that's just depressing.

  • The stupidity is frustrating.

  • Like Kat Edmonson sings..... "BE THE CHANGE THAT YOU WANT TO SEE"!

  • We're talking about 18 cents per gallon you moron. Your a political spinster and more importantly an idiot.

Hillary is sellign your game and people aren't going to buy it in the end.

The Clinton's are not bad people but they are clearly deep rooted into the ways of Washington.

Anybody who things that lack of experience is an issue should look closely at our history.

  • Terry McAuliffe?

Terry is chairman of Hillary for President. He invested $100,000 dollars in Global Crossing stock, and sold it for $18 million before it went bankrupt. He's a real "insider".

Clinton's Telecom deregulation didn't work out for Global Crossing, but it sure worked for Terry. The CEO donated 1 million o Clinton's library in the end.

Now Terry is back, helping Hillary lie, smear, and flash false tears.

  • Top Clinton Advisor-Super Delegate Terry MacAiffle turned a $100 dollar investment into $2.5 million on the sale of his commerical real estate in FL.

  • Gas? Ha!

Jerome Zeifman, was lead Democratic counsel during Watergate.

In a recent interview, of Hillary, he said: "She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality".

Zeifman fired and refused to give her a letter of recommendation. He also said that he regrets not reporting her to bar associations.

But, Hillary had not passed the bar at that point.

    Ooooops!

  • Laughable...

  • Hey Hillary it's STILL the economy stupid.

How can anyone trust a woman who ignores the advice of people who've studied the subject for a career.

Hopefully the stupid bitch ignores her doctor when it comes to medical advice and dies as soon as possible.

Economics: low supply and high demand means high prices. reducing the tax does NOT reduce the demand and therefore does not reduce cost.

The real solution is making efficient cars tax free. 50mpg plus.

  • at then end: '...extra hundred bucks..' (!!!) Gas tax is 18.4 cents. To save $100 you'd have to burn 543 gallons of gas in 3 months. That's a heck of a lot of driving McAuliffe! Damn, I could drive across the country and back 5 or 6 times.

    What a dork.

  • Hillary, you want to buy our votes? $40 gas money? How insulting! Why not another 'stimulus' package? Just keep sending cash! Maybe $1000 this time? Why needs real long term solutions? Just keep giving us money!

  • Temporary relief?

$30 - if increased demand doesn't cause an increase in gas prices - over three months, and when the three months are OVER, the "relief" is over. Is that a Hillary Clinton solution? Seriously!?

  • Compared to Barack Obama's solution? Take money from oil company executives, disregard the suffering of millions of Americans in order to look bi-partisan? Please. Obama won't achieve any solution to any problem-he's the band-aid candidate.

  • Obama's suggested a "$1,000 middle-class tax cut". I don't like his idea. I think both their ideas suck. Republicans aren't about to authorize taking a chunk of a company's profits for political use, so it's not bipartisan. In my opinion, both Democratic candidates are proposing "band-aid" solutions.

  • buying votes - the biggest and oldest boondoggle for democracies everywhere. what does it get you? corruption from top to bottom.

  • if they lower the gas taxes,

the oil companies will lose money and just raise the gas prices....

  • How many short term solutions did the Bush Administrations hand us as an answer to LONG TERM problems.

Hillary = more of the same Bush Bullshit.

    08ama.

  • Oh and if its not explicit, Veracifier is also doing campaign work for Barack Obama.

So far as in Barack Obama looks like Mr. Messiah, Veracifier will be doing the truth-telling!

  • We need a longterm solution not a finger in the dyke (OH SNAP! A Hillary Clinton joke coupled with an intelligent point.).

  • Obama supporters call this a gimmick because they know Barack doesn't have the experience to regulate the big corporations. Its sad really.

  • actually zeiters20, you are blatantly uninformed. Hillary has proposed to introduce this legislation and "get everyone on the record. Are they with us or are they against us."

Which was of course her tough talk to look like she is fighting for the average guy.

The disappointing thing is that hillary has always touted expertise and policy minutiae as her biggest strength and now she is not only wrong, but blowing smoke up america's ass. Thankfully, most people see it for what it is.

  • Deweydecible, I think you should organize your brain. Hillary can't, nor would she, promise action on part of the Senate. The Senate is composed of many members, some aren't even for taxing the wealthy, let alone oil companies. Its so weird that Obama supporters continually attack Hillary's character, and doubly attack her "attacks" For real, you need to get on board with the Middle Class, and stop smoking the Obama-pipe.

  • You moron. McAullife is wrong in the first place; no one will save money, because the oil companies will just drive the price back up to where the price and demand balance again. And adding a wind-fall tax on TOP of it all just gives them a greater incentive to raise the price!

Clinton's basically saying "I don't care what the experts think, people buy this shit I'm selling." It's pretty ridiculous.

Veracifier doesn't owe Clinton fair time on this, it's a fucking stupid idea.

  • scotty, I'd have to suggest you spend less time snorting Obama's crack, and more time understanding policy nuance. Economists are indeed experts-experts on capitalism. The free market, and humanism will always be at odds-just like Obama's supporters, and logic will always be at odds.

  • You made so many dumb statements, I don't know where to start. All economists are advocates of the free market? Not really. A Marxist like yourself should be well aware of that.

  • Don't try to defend economists just because Barack Obama is a moron. The country can't afford another charismatic idiot playing in the oval office. Really, just stop now.

  • Obama = idiot? Obama: Lectured in law as University of Chicago, and was self made. Bush? Would not have gotten into Yale w/o daddy's help, and 'got rich' because daddy bough him a baseball team. How dare you compare Obama to Bush ("another charismatic idiot")

  • Obama was one of the first benefactors of affirmative action. For that matter he attended a prestigious private school in HAWAII. You're truly one of his old crack fiends if you think he's self-made. Haha, now there's something laughable.

  • Obama's "crack" friends? Affirmative action? Wow you are really way out there zeiters. I suppose he became president of the Harvard Law Review because they had a quota for blacks at the top post? I sure hope your just joking around, because everything you're saying just doesn't make any sense.

  • Shit, you're right. I just had an epiphany!

What would the entire economic community know about economics, anyway? Nothing, that's what! I'll just invest (pun intended) my future in a pathological liar and pander bear.

I mean, after she just nailed down that Authorization for Military Force in Iraq vote in order to look tough for her inevitable Presidential race, I think we can trust her on this one.

  • Hahaha Obama supporters will always go back to the Iraq vote. It doesn't matter what you're talking about, all their support lies in oversimplifying one Senate vote! Hillary eez Hitlary!!! lol Keep that up scotty! It makes you look just like one of Obama's colorful coalition of mindless goons.

  • Tim Russert was straight up lying here. Hillary Clinton never promised that she would do it this summer. That doesn't even make sense. Why would she say "if you vote for me I'll pass laws in the Senate!" What we have here is Tim Russert playing got'cha politics, and Veracifier cashing in on video views from the pro-Obama zelots on YouTube.

Go Farrakhan! Go Hammas! Wahoo, gas tax rules!

  • Actually, she did say that. Please go back and watch your candidates videos. It makes me doubt you're a true supporter of Hillary's when you can't even back up your facts with evidence.

  • Say what? Why do Obama supporters always lye about Hillary Clinton? They're so insecure.

  • Lets not forget that it was her husband 15 years ago that tacked on an additional $.05 per gallon in federal taxes in order to PAY for building and repairing our infrastructure.

  • Horsesh*t. If fixin our gas addiction is so straightforward why didn't Hillary get Bubba on it? Cause he was already the Prez & that's not a tar-baby you want to be kickin if you don't have to, Br'er Rabbit. She's just trying ever so hard to get you to like her & she's makin a mess out of it. She's so far past her level of incompetence - no wonder she always looks a bit crazy & faintly pissed off. Imagine what Bubba really thinks of her maladroit repartee and lack of common touch.

  • extra $100? what a lying sack of crap. The most you'd save is $30 over 3 months while simultaneously causing thousands of road workers to lose their jobs. Clinton is simply a dishonest opportunist.

  • Very dishonest guy.

  • Nonsensical commentary. At least use some logic to back it up instead of "it's going to magically help the people."

  • What do stupid ol' economists know about the economy anyhow?

Now buy my truthness healthy time elixir...

I've seen traveling grifters with more nobility...

  • alot you dick

  • Wow hazardouslee, you're sarcasm meter is drastically broken my friend...best of luck...

  • Facts don't matter. If we learned anything from the GOP noisemachine, it's that facts have a liberal bias. Long live truthiness and down with those economic studier people and their numbers and books and stuff.

  • This how you work a number - you take from your little personal introductory story a figure of $100 extra for a DRIVER who uses gas continuously on his JOB. Then talk about that figure as if it is what everyone will save. That kind of disrespect for basic mathematical/logical principles is why even Clinton supporter Paul Krugman finds her advocacy of this fantasy tax holiday "disappointing." Dig into this proposal and you find nothing but pandering, ignorance, and/or disingenuousness.

  • its true economist dont matter

    regards,

a uneducated voter voting for clinton

  • ROFL nice sarcasm.

  • such a lying bastard:

"maybe to Obama and others $100 is no big deal, but to these ..."

As I understand it, this "holiday" pander would yield an individual something like $30 over the entire course of 3 month "holiday".

But see, it's easy to stretch that, in Clintondom, to 3x that, and just call it a hundred -- which marketing science tells us sounds considerably more than "thirty bucks".

People like McAuliffe should be put to work on chain-gangs picking up litter along interstate highways.

  • God, what a douche. I hate idiots like this pundit who argue in support of something even when it's been proven, right in front of them that it won't work. GEORGE W. BUSH WILL _VETO_ IT DUMBASS. Why are you still yammering about the imaginary benefits of a gas tax holiday like a freaking shill? Just shut the hell up!!

  • and people like you pump my gas

    signed

    an economist

  • Sinistertino: You can't be a real economist b/c real economists would find agolosha's joke to be funny as hell.

  • i take it you're the manager of the gas station?

  • Wow, that guy couldn't possibly have been more bubble-headed.

  • Terry McAuliffe is a sleazeball.

  • Hm, no one suggested that we should listen to Bushs policies, the point was that this is a tax plan that is doomed to failure, no matter what, and is pointless like putting on a bandaid which will only just fall off 5 minutes later. Total pandering. Lets just face it, Hillary is either a poor economist, who thinks she knows better than economists who are educated (kinda like how Bush ignores the educated when pushing policies) or she's just a typical politician who only thinks of herself

  • Whatta dick.

  • Hillary's plan is to make the "oil company" pay for the $.18 tax. What does that mean? The station owner? He's not the one making the windfall profits. How can she force the local shell owner to pay an extra .18/gallon. He is just going to pass the cost onto us. It is just silly!

Also. If you have a 20 gallon tank saving 18 cents a gallon comes out to 3.60 cents a tank. At 8 tanks of gas a month that is a 28.80 savings. Where are they getting these hundreds of dollars in savings?

  • She just killed herself with this one. Her so called "experience", or lack thereof, is rearing it's head.

  • She can't win. Simple as that.

  • What a slimy liar. He ends by saying "maybe an extra hundred bucks isn't a big deal to you". The most generous estimates say people MIGHT save UP TO $30 over the course of the entire summer. Stop the lying, vote Obama.

  • This is an obvious overture to truckers unions and has nothing to do with consumers.

  • Maybe a tax holiday on diesel only that way you could reduce shipping costs with out too much change. That might not work either.

  • I dont think 30 dollars is going make a difference with gas tax they are just going to take it from somewhere else.. Has anyone been to the movies lately 10.50 per ticket wow movies is like a $40 date now crazy... now add dinner $50+ gas, flowers expensive all around this economy is crazy--- screw Hillary and her quick fix.. Oh yea I do have a good job but it still hurts

  • A band-aid on a gun shot wound. Still no one will pay for the band-aids.

  • He's not going to quote economists because they would all tell him a gas tax holiday would be counter-productive.

    What would happen:

    1) Oil companies would raise gas prices and make extra profits

    2) The Highway Trust Fund is already going to run a 4 billion deficit by next year. Take away another 8.9 billion from the gas tax this year and say goodbye to over 300,000 highway and road workers.

Hillary says she'll get the oil companies to pick up the tab. Uhhhh.... just who is out of touch here?

  • good idea WTF??????? how fucked up can they get, i just wanna know how far they can go???????????

  • who is that idiot? 15 cents a gallon is a big deal?

Don"t scratch that bone heads auto paint job, he will kill you.

  • Hillary wants to buy your vote for (the empty promise of) $29.

(Note: Neither Clinton or McCain have the power to deliver on this "tax holiday" promise. It's really just a red herring.)

  • true

  • You know what else doesn't matter to Hillary Clinton:

    Delegate Count

    Popular Vote

    Democratic Party Rules

    Party Loyalty

I'm so tired of this bitch, it makes me sick. I respect women, but not this one.

    Obama '08!

  • Do we need 8 more years of people who don't listen to the people who know the real impact of decisions. Also, how bad does Hillary hate democrats in congress if she expects them to raise taxes in an election year so they can lose the election in the fall.
