  • I would like to sing with them

  • Beautiful arrangement and stunning performance!

  • This changed me.

  • this is the best version of this song. there no better version of this song. simply beautiful, and stunning harmonies.

  • Competence and great inspiration meet great emotion.

  • great....

  • Stunning! I sing with the Detroit Concert Choir and can't wait to have my director see this. Thanks

  • simply beautiful. amazing. thank you.

  • The one lady closing her eyes on "In life,in death" is...priceless. Where it not for music.....

  • I don't have the words to describe this. Bravo!

  • The blend of the voices, the clean sound, a beautiful hymn plus a superb arrangement makes this song simply beautiful.

  • Sorry, but to put a downer on this arrangement I personally don't like it - I appreciate the vocal skills and the 'arrangement' but it just doesn't work for me.

  • YES! I've finally found this arrangement! I sang this back in February with a mass choir and loved it!

    Absolutely beautiful rendition here!!!

  • beautifully done!!!! Watching this video brought me back to the first time I heard this arrangement back in 2001 at Banff by Kokopelli.

  • wonderful. The greatest thing about this choir is how much they get into all the pieces, they look like a reall close-knit bunch...it is very inspiring!

  • What a fantastic arrangement and rendition of this beautiful hymn! An the quiet ending, after that great progress in the mlddle, was just astonising. I am a fan of another great choir arranger - Ken Burton's - and never heard of this one, but I must look up some other pieces done by him.

  • the arranger is a brilliant and talented guy - greg jasperse - one of the most beautiful and transcendent pieces of music

  • stunning!! I believe this is my most watched /listened to video on youtube.

  • I'm so glad. They are a special choir. Carry Me Home is a documentary dedicated to them and their origins. I hope you get the chance to see it!

    Best,

    Liam Romalis

    Producer/Director

  • Does anyone know how to get in contact with this chorale?

  • Great song by a great choir.

  • I love it.

  • speechless!! WOW..

  • jiangkrek uapik pol... nggawe aku kudu nangis ae... sep greg... keren awakmu...

  • Huahuahauhua.. mas.. ga ada yang ngerti.. kasihan banyak orang bule.. hahahahahahaha...

  • so peaceful x33

  • they're really singing with their heart. so "WOW!"

  • i think again it is really a nice arrangement and sung well but two small details that make it electrifying for me...on the word shine when the phrase is kept...fab...and heaven's morning breaks with the moving alto building into the piano into the next phrase...wow...continue singing well...

  • This is really nice...and very moving...and i believe the choristers feel what they are singing...wow...

  • I must thank you for visiting my site. I might never have come across this gem. Thank you so much!! Beautiful.

  • They are special, aren't they? Makes me want to get my voice out of mothballs, travel to Canada and audition! I think that I am over their age limit, though. Outstanding!

  • I love this song. Jasperse has an awesome way of establishing chord structures and the words are just beautiful.

  • I agree- the text alone can move one to tears.

I also agree some other posters-this choir does this particuliar style on a level all their own, and I think that the same would be true of some of their other recordings, if they would just "pull it in a notch", and not press so hard on the dramatic side. This is particularly true on some of the Hogan interpretations, where the sound, precision, and emotion are there but they somehow miss the mark, even though the outcome is still delightful.

  • You know. I was kinda thinking along those same lines. They didn't quite reach the "pinnacle" of the piece, but they do an outstanding job. I'm a singer myself and I'm decent but I love singing in a group. There's just something about singing with others ya just can't beat.

  • Ahh...

I've finally found this arrangement of "Abide With Me" =D

My high school choir I sing in had this piece last year and although we never sang it at a concert, it was a wonderful song that many of us enjoyed. =)

  • Not bad! I didn't even know that Jasperse made an arrangement of Abide With Me. The blend as well as the ritardando at the the end was truly excellent!

  • OMG I was so blessed by this song, my Alma Mater Pine Forge Academy Choir sang this song, this is beautiful.

  • Wow...very pretty arrangement and executed well. Felt by the choristers...and it shows...

  • Absolutely, AWESOME!!

O thou, who changest not, abide with me!!

  • Praise His Name!

  • Simply Superb!

  • This is the choir's forte, this style. Any piece that gives this good, clean sound works for the chorale.

Why do they feel they have to 'act out' the spirituals arr. by Hogan? The sound and interpretation on those are pretty poor to say the least.

  • This is probably the best arrangement of this hymn I've ever heard. Magnificent job!

  • WOW...I've never heard this rendition of 'Abide with me' before! This is probably one of my most favorite songs to sing at church. Watching this video almost...almost brought tears to my eyes! haha but really, very well done!
