Radiohead was and always will be a very average band that started out well and continues to descend further and further into mediocrity. Thom Yorke is not a good singer. As evidenced by this video, all he does is miss notes and sing really softly. The music is cacophonous crap that is passed of by fans as "experimental" or "pushing boundaries. It's shit, deal with it. Also, Thom Yorke looks like a bloody idiot with those maraccas. I'm ready for the fanboy rage now :)

Lotus Flower is one of the finest songs Radiohead has ever crafted. The percussion is fantastic and the vocal melody is absolutely beautiful but clearly Thom was sick for this performance. I've seen videos of him performing this song solo and it's pitch perfect. Anyone trying to hate is just moronic, no band delivers life-changing performances 100% of the time.

I'm assuming the "tune" your refurring to is "Last Nite" but look up any of these amazing songs: Soma, The Modern Age, Barley Legal, Someday, New York City Cops, Take It Or Leave It, Juicebox, Reptilia, What Ever HAppened, 12:51, You Only Live Once, On The Other Side, Under Cover Of Darkness, Gratisfaction plus more and amazing B-sides. Their just 10x better.

the only reason why Thom may have sounded a little off is because of his age. It's extremely difficult to reach that high note when you're around your forties. this is still a great performance, though.

@cure58 paranoid android is one of my least favorite songs by radiohead. that song is a clusterfuck, I always thought it sounded like a mash up of Just and Karma Police(while still being inferior to both). Ok Computer is amazing, but elevating paranoid android above the rest of radiohead's catalogue pretty much invalidates your point.
@cure58 How funny, someone who has probably only heard a few songs after OK Computer is trying to sell off their statement as if they know the band pretty well. The Bends, Hail to the Thief and In Rainbows were anything but the electronica stuff you don't like. Your mind is as open as a Crushed Tin Box, must be real comfortable.

I hope this latest album is just a phase like the Kid A album, these guys have great songs, they need more guitar in their songs. In rainbows was such a better cd than their latest in terms of the instruments.....
Okay I like, no wait, I LOVE Radiohead. But im not so much of a fucking fanboy as to say "This is the best performance ever!" or "Thom wasn't struggling with the vocals."
It was definitely an average performance (not that Radiohead isn't capable of stellar ones) and Thom definitely wasn't on top of his game in terms of vocals. However it was a good performance considering it was live television and that they had to work with SNL equipment.
He starts out a lil weak at the beginning, but it only takes a few melodies to get in the groove...By the time the time they hit the real stage this week, the whole band will be blowin' minds like usual
I like this video, don't care if someone thinks that I'm stupid because it's not the best performance nor the best album nor the best lineup... whatever, if this is a lousy performance, I cant' wait to see a great one.

thom juggled lyrics ha ha nice recovery and nice follow up with staircase. thom needs a guitar in his hands ha ha otherwise he is just too figitty and ends up messing up :) New album sucks ? ha ha yea right. TKOL is by far the most intricate work these guys have ever done. Only appreciated by musicians and the like. Not plain jane humans. got's to have a bit more brains to appreciate TKOL. go shake and dissappear.

@JamesD567 I agree but HTTT was really good too, actually better than Amnesiac and IR in my opinion. Just look at the songs! Where I End And You Begin, 2 + 2 = 5, Sit Down Stand Up, There There, Sail To The Moon, Myxomatosis, Go To Sleep, A Wolf At The Door. The problem with that album is too many fillers that shouldnt have been included.

I like King of Limbs, I like these songs, I don't mind the new drummer but this performance is nowhere near as good as when they were on SNL in 2001 and performed The National Anthem and Idioteque. Also this song was much better on the live recordings From the Basement. But what are ya gonna do? It is what it is.

@ChAoSeFfEcT I used to share your views about Coldplay but with their new songs such as "Paradise" and "Every Teardrop" they are pretty much reduced to a joke. I really loved their first three albums though. With Radiohead I dont really like their first and their last, but everything in the middle is fucking outstanding. You never know with Radiohead though, their next could be one of the greatest albums of all time.

@cure58 paranoid android is one of my least favorite songs by radiohead. that song is a clusterfuck, I always thought it sounded like a mash up of Just and Karma Police(while still being inferior to both). Ok Computer is amazing, but elevating paranoid android above the rest of radiohead's catalogue pretty much invalidates your point.

The Bends, Hail to the Thief and In Rainbows were anything but the electronica stuff you don't like. Your mind is as open as a Crushed Tin Box, must be real comfortable.

Loving the instrumentation here. Ed's guitar is perfect, the fuzziness of the bass is great and Jonny's vocal sampling at the end is amazing. Thom's vocals are weak for a large part but he finds them towards the end. Tough song to sing, even more so when he's dancing. The dancing adds to the energy during gigs but in a setting like this it might've been better to make sure the vocals were on. The vocals in his solo guitar performances of the track from before the release of the album are great.

I hope this latest album is just a phase like the Kid A album, these guys have great songs, they need more guitar in their songs. In rainbows was such a better cd than their latest in terms of the instruments.....

Okay I like, no wait, I LOVE Radiohead. But im not so much of a fucking fanboy as to say "This is the best performance ever!" or "Thom wasn't struggling with the vocals."
It was definitely an average performance (not that Radiohead isn't capable of stellar ones) and Thom definitely wasn't on top of his game in terms of vocals. However it was a good performance considering it was live television and that they had to work with SNL equipment.

thom juggled lyrics ha ha nice recovery and nice follow up with staircase. thom needs a guitar in his hands ha ha otherwise he is just too figitty and ends up messing up :) New album sucks ? ha ha yea right. TKOL is by far the most intricate work these guys have ever done. Only appreciated by musicians and the like. Not plain jane humans. got's to have a bit more brains to appreciate TKOL. go shake and dissappear.

But more than likely he was just high on drugs and just cant sing anymore without an auto-tune machine.

Where I End And You Begin, 2 + 2 = 5, Sit Down Stand Up, There There, Sail To The Moon, Myxomatosis, Go To Sleep, A Wolf At The Door. The problem with that album is too many fillers that shouldnt have been included.

I like King of Limbs, I like these songs, I don't mind the new drummer but this performance is nowhere near as good as when they were on SNL in 2001 and performed The National Anthem and Idioteque. Also this song was much better on the live recordings From the Basement. But what are ya gonna do? It is what it is.

I mean I won't lie it takes me like 6 months to finally appreciate all the parts in a radiohead composition. Thome's got this huge trollface like "oh you didn't notice? Critizing this isnt equivalent to wanting another Creep or digging Coldplays latest single or being against a band evolving. It was just a bad perfomance... They have done so much better in the past. TKOL is great compared to most artists but it just cant compare to their earlier stuff. But I dont get people who seems personally offended because Thoms vocals isnt spot on. I dont think he sang bad on purpose lol. What makes me personally offended is the bands hairstyles lol xD

@ChAoSeFfEcT I used to share your views about Coldplay but with their new songs such as "Paradise" and "Every Teardrop" they are pretty much reduced to a joke. I really loved their first three albums though. With Radiohead I dont really like their first and their last, but everything in the middle is fucking outstanding. You never know with Radiohead though, their next could be one of the greatest albums of all time.

I love Radiohead, I love King Of Limbs. Almost everything they've done short of Pablo Honey, really. But they've played better live than this. I'm not saying it sucked, it was pretty cool, but it's far from their best performanc. Also, to those who keep telling people to stop saying what I just said, fuck yourself.
