Thanks for posting this...we lived there from 76-79 at Southport and i went to YellowQuill...My Mom was born and raised there and she has moved back.My uncle used to be manager of the liquior store. Looks like you started the vid just comming off of the highway and went by Man Bell where my aunt used to work ;)

I was raised in Portage and finally got out in the late 90's. Then I messed things up in 07 and I'm back doing time in Portage again. I am plotting my escape though. Back in the 70's and 80's this was a good place, but in the 90's it started to go down hill. Today it's even worse. I don't like it here at all and I will be heading back to Vancouver in the spring.

I was stationed at CFB Portage from 88 to 92. I used to walk into town alot and went along Saskatchewan Avenue from where the old Tim Hortons was located to Portage Mall. The town has changed from when I was last there.

I moved back to Portage from Vancouver 2 years ago. What a mistake that was, I will never listen to the wife again (it was her idea). This is a filthy little town with nothing in it. If you need something you have to go to Winnipeg for it. I'm moving back to BC. Mountains and Ocean with lots to do. If you were raised here like I was, get out while you can.
