  • people who like this, try Sunchyme by Dario G and Never Let You Go by Jakaranda

  • i can remember taking the wrap of the album.lol go to sleep everynite to it.

  • Always loved this song. Just read recently (on wikipedia) that it was written about Nick Drake. I would not have guessed.

  • I wanna die with this song playing in the background

  • The tag of the weird stuff on the end was not needed, IMHO.

  • It's snowing like crazy here in Iowa right now....good snowy weather song!

  • My youth. I kept hearing this song as I watched the end of "Weekend". Tears. For my youth and for that film.

  • RIP Nick Drake. You died too young.

  • Never too young to love this song!

  • Always loved this song.

  • Buckley is an angel! A real angel!

  • this song is in a category all its own.

  • Favorite part @ 1:20!

  • Think I'm still liking the shorter, original.

  • Wikipedia!

  • This song makes me want to jump on a trampoline with a dead guy

  • i love the chorus

  • They just don't make music like this anymore

  • 5 people just suck in general

  • The chorus of this song gives me chills, the really good kind. Just makes me smile and makes me feel at peace... LOVE it.

  • loved it back then and still to this day I love it

  • any one who lives ups in the northern parts in this country should or feel the meaning of this song if not then you never lived in a northern town. thats too bad you will never know what the meaning is.

  • @SuperMonsterdodge You have no idea what this song is about... Google Nick Drake.

  • One of the greatest songs ever made.

  • the 80's was a great decade for music, always liked this song

  • I was 10 in 1980 so I spent my all my teen years in the 80's and what a great time to be growing up it was. It wouldn't of been nearly as good if it wasn't for great music like this track.

  • @bobfari I completely agree with you on 0:48. Just a giant wave of color that makes this a really well-written song. Also around 3:14 is great.

  • I love this song!! Very dreamy and trippy. It sounds like a Pink Floyd song, hey wait a mimnute, David Gilmour helped make this song!!!!

  • @TheZeke1974 I didn´t know this, thnks for the info

  • No matter how bad my day is, this song picks me right back up and makes me think about the better parts of this crappy existence.

  • This song takes me back when I was 21, back in 1986, lots of great memories! Never to be forgotten!

  • awesome song

  • takes me back to when I was about 14...scary as that memory is...this tune waz a GREAT memory...always made me feel much better than what was actually going on in my life at that moment.. SMILES FOR EVERYONE!

  • The connection between this song and Nick Drake----I had no idea. Funny how life works sometimes......

  • "and the morning lasted all day" didn't mean anything to me until I experienced it and better understood the lyrics. RIP Nick Drake.

  • Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

  • I'm from this era, In the 80's the stoner kids loved 60's music, I'm not where I thought I would be now, however, it's not so bad. even though I grew old and conservative, I learned from everyone I encountered. The hippies are correct with Love, also there is respect, kindness, honesty. Accepting where your at in life with these positive elements is beautiful. It's where faith meets destiny.

  • I love this song so much and you have the best version of it!! Thank you so much!

  • Simply awesome then, simply awesome now.

  • never too old for this song.. :) the best.

  • Friend: Are you listening to Dario G?

Me: No man this is The Dream Academy but you were close.

    Friend: Sorry.

  • So much for the tragic 80's. they dont make like this today.

  • 3:13 ... best part. FILLS me with joy... ^_^

  • I just read where this song was written about Nick Drake. Listen to "Pink Moon" and others that Nick wrote, such a sad end to a talented artist. Thank you for posting.!

  • @greep1234 Pink Moon is possibly my favourite song of all time

  • Never heard this version before. VERY GOOD!

  • I used to listen to this song while driving back to Ft. Bragg when I was a young Paratrooper.

  • Wow, winter 1963. They referred to the date in this song like we would refer to the 80's today. Why are you so cruel Father Time?

  • LOVE THIS TRACK, what a trip down memory lane, lifts the spirits as well

  • Melancholy...can one word describe this song? Good autumnal tune.

  • o k

  • @rcroxyosox1 ok.

  • This a top favourite of mine from the 80's.

  • Buckley???? This song was dedicated to Nick Drake...

  • one of my all-time favourite songs - mixes happiness and wishful remembrance in me.

  • @oggun777

YES!!! Thank you! I couldn't quite describe the mix i get when i hear this song! This is as close as i got:

:::This song has always reached inside me and pulled pretty hard from somewhere primal. It has always made me feel sad, despondent and alone; yet at the same time, overwhelmed with almost a fierce joy and emboldened.:::

  • @FenceHoppingSpic HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ah hey a ma ma ma

  • Outstanding extended version, thank you very much for uploading. :)

  • wow this song brings back soo many memories some sad most happy!!!! thank you for putting this out here

  • Moving harmony and brilliant arrangement...

  • Song takes me back to what can only be described as a simpler time. I love the album cover, too. This and Everything But the Girl's "Idlewild" albums got a lot of play while I drove around in my Fiat convertible. Good times!

  • iam gonna request this song at my funeral

  • thanx for uploading im young and actually enjoy the good stuff =) i love this song

  • Ay oh ma ma maaaa

  • @bobfari Thank you for putting this up :)

  • Northern town- Inverness. Scotland. Feelin the love. what a great song!

  • Great to hear this extended version, Thanks for posting

  • Summer of 86, great radio summer.

  • im a kid and i like more 80's music better than the 2000 music

  • the poor black guy is like shoved behind them in the shadows

  • Thank you.

  • Being a Yankee who now lives in Louisiana, this song makes me long for those autumn days in rural New York State. Great song!

  • @wkseamans Same thing for me, exept im in georgia.

  • Jesus says "Hey"

  • @nightracer35 Agreed. This song should have charted higher, if not at #1

  • i like this song, no matter what people may think of me

  • PLayed this in the car and my children asked to hear it again. They usually don't like my song choices so this is a winner!

  • @wendys120 Well i'm glad to hear that someone lets their kids listen to real music rather than the crap that's out there. Get them to listen to this song: Big Country - In A Big Country. Have Fun!!! Bobfari

  • @wendys120 My fourteen year old has been listening to the Beatles since he was ten. He just borrowed my Led Zepplin box set. Both my kids think today's music is horrible and live off my collection. It's funny how kids are different.

  • @wendys120

It's not fair. Time passes too quickly. We have children who usually don't get our music. Remember it was just like yesterday that we were wishing our PARENTS could get our music?

  • @mesmerizedbyamy1 You're right. Time isn't fair. But I will say this: I really liked my parents' music. :)

  • @wendys120 I grew up with as a pre teen listening to this stuff. :-)

  • @TheZeke1974 Good stuff!!

  • @wendys120 You wanna know a sad but true incident? a couple weeks ago, was driving to work i stopped at a red light and there was a mom and a daughter singing one kesha's song toghether........sad.

  • @MrJuxtapoz2010 Yuck. I think I just threw up a little.LOL

  • @wendys120 I remember as a kid I hated my dads music. Today, father of 3 boys, they love mine. Amazing, and it's because of songs like this. When I play this in the truck they sing along and ask for it again. I enjoy it a lot.

  • its a shame it onlt made number 7 in 1985,

  • @rodz0r haha I literally just watched it two minutes ago, and that's what caused me to look this up!! lol

  • When this song came out i was sitting listening to it and loved it the first time i listened to it. Those where the great good old days when you can have fun without any worries. life was fun going to parties meeting new people but no one does this anymore it fizzed out.Parties that your friends had all fizzed out. no one does it anymore,it's funny how time flies and things change

  • @doom666metal: "no one does it anymore"

Sorry, mate, but the kids still do it. We're just getting old.

  • @doom666metal its not just time that changes.so do people.

  • @doom666metal

We got old, my friend, we got very old.

  • Did David Gilmour have something to do with this song? I thought he may have produced it or something??

  • @dreamwad1 yes he did, and I believe the lp too.

  • @100dollarklaatubid - Thanks... I was curious about that for a long time...

  • This reminds me of my youth in the 80's. Great song!

  • Just one of the most perfect songs ever recorded.

  • i grew up in a northern indiana town and freak'in loved this tune, thanks for the memorys and this version!

  • this song is tits

  • Absolutely love this extended version of one of my favorite songs. I remember the winter of 1963 . . . cold and sad, with John Kennedy having just been murdered.

  • Love the extended version. Thanks. I remember the winter of 1963 . . . it was cold and sad . . . John Kennedy murdered.

  • I thought to knew this song from a version of 1997 by West, I thought. But it turns out to be a remade? This is the original?

  • @Leto85 Yes as far as i know

  • @bobfari it's such a beautiful song... :) There's an ethereal power to it

  • @bobfari love that drum crash as well . there's another video of this where you can see the guy hitting the drums

  • Forget the original, not many extended versions of songs make them better, but this absolutely does!!!

  • this song was on the parent trap i think

  • @jjokie "Somewhere In The Sun" is the name of the compilation CD

  • @jjokie

  • Love this extended version... didn't think it could get any better, but it did! My two year old loves this song!

  • I had not heard this version before...awesome thank you so much for posting it!

  • As if this song wasn't already awesome enough!

  • One of the best songs ever. Seriously.

  • this song is so beautiful :)
