i know quite a bit about jets but can someone tell me why when it cuts off the burners that smoke comes out?

Yes i can. ^^ well its more sience then that it has to do with the f15. it's because.. the inlets. take in some air. the air, burns with the kerosine, and thats why you see the burners. so the kerosine was ''fully burned'' , well when he cuts off the burners, you dont have a full burn because less kerosine comes in for the air to burn. so then you have a bit too less kerosine to burn for getting the burners ''spit out fire'':D, so when the burning is not fully being burned, you see smoke.

the sound that wakes me up everyday is more like it lol. I live on base in the dorms at the base in NC and work all night so when the jets fly in the morning you cant sleep with the sound of an F15 echoing between the buildings. but its well worth it for what the jets do when deployed

it has an excellent thrust to weight ratio, i think its about 1.4 to 1 so its engines are so powerful that it allows this planes to take off quickly
