I know it's been a looooooooong time since the Yankees won anything but were you testing everybody yourself back then? How do you know Brosious or O'Neil or Bernie Williams or even Jeter weren't using something? And I'm not even saying Manny and Ortiz were the only juicers on the Red Sox roster. Point is almost everyone in baseball was using somehing back then and probably still now.

How do I know? I don't know but seriously? Look at the guys you mentioned Brosius, O'Neil, Bernie and Jeter.

Not one of them had an incongruent MONSTER year. Also those guys you mentioned if you look at their stats, you'll see they were almost the definition of consistency,each of them putting up the stats you expected of them almost predictably.

Now look at Ortiz. His numbers were garbage in Minnestoa and since the whole steroid craze came to a head, his numbers come back down to earth.

Good points. And I just threw out their names off the top of my head. My point is who knows which guys on the championship Yankees teams were on the juice, could be anywhere from 1 guy to 24. And even though those particular guys have had consistent stat years, it doesn't mean they weren't taking. Look at Nomar. The guy was one of the best shortstops in the game. (cont)

He starts using puts on 30 pounds of muscle in an off season and is never the same again. Most guys it makes better but some it has little effect on or like in Nomar's case it was detrimental. It deosn't always turn a Manny Alexander into a Manny Ramirez.

Too many holes in the Sox team. Drew, Bay, Smoltz, and Ortiz aren't performing. Lowell, Dice-K, and Wake are injured. I don't know where the Sox need help more, Offense or Pitching. I like the idea of Beckett, Lester, and Doc as the 09 big 3, but V-mart could be Teks replacement. All I know is that Epstein needs to make a deal.
