  • I do these every day my strength has increased so much

  • bigec33

I do agree that u need bat speed up to a certain point then body position-swing line and angle and the ability to use ur body correctly and transfer energy come into play.

As far as Bryce Harper goes-108mph is the ball exit speed off his bat NOT his bat speed

    Pujols is between 86-88mph

College players at 94mph - not sure where u got those numbers from?

Bottom line these drills increase hand strength and speed which most players can always use more of

    THANKS for the comment!

  • these are amazing and very effective drill it worked for me dramatickly i wish you were my hitting coach thanks for the great video!

  • Joe - I like the strength drills for the wrists and forearms - strong hands are essential to hitting. My question is this: at what age would you recommend a player begin doing these type of drills? I have an 11 yr. old player and I'm wondering if he would benefit from specific strength conditioning such as this or if we should just continue to focus on the basic mechanics of the swing and let him add the strength drills later when he is a little more developed physically.

  • @d1sp0sabl3H3r0 Your 11 year old is def ready for this kind of training. Its pretty basic but will def help his strength dramatically. Any body weight not over the top training will help him to stabilize his body and increase bat speed and bat path

  • WHERE IN NEW YORK ,,NYC OR UPSTATE

  • Martin

Any strengthening of the hands , wrists and forearms is going to help in the control and strength you have through the bat.

The top hand especially to get the bat on the plane of the ball is quick as possible

    Good Luck

  • does this really help?

  • great stuff. only a real hitter can give drills that reproduce the feel and mechanic of great hitting. i'm a fan.

  • I've never gone to a training facility that does so much work on conditioning along with teaching the fundamentals. This system is state of the art in terms of how they teach you to use your body and build strength through the normal movements of a swing or a pitch.

  • In response to RustyShackleford124 comments:

These videos encompass about 10% of my hitting system so I think you are making some assumptions without having a real clue of what I teach.

In kinetic linking, with a punch, science has shown how force begins from the ground up, generates through the body and ends in the fist. This is the same principle I am teaching. You need a happy balance between science and playing. This game isnt played behind a keyboard, in a lab or in a book.

  • SadegoGG: Fifth, you hardly even use your wrists when you hit, again there deceleration after contact.

Your wrists are used to decelerate the bat? Keep reading Hitting for DummiesIm sure eventually you will pick up something useful.

    Class dismissed

  • SadegoGG: Fourth, you don't force the bat head out front with your arms, you do it with your body.

You dont force the bat head out front you drive it out. Your body is used to explode through the ball. Lets keep it simple for you: Its like taking a shit after you shower. Make sense?

  • SadegoGG: Third, all these drills do is isolate, which isnt even how your supposed to train (Even for forearm/grip training)

Yes these drills isolate to teach the correct movements to work at the right time in the correct sequence. You have to strengthen the parts to strengthen the whole.

  • SadegoGG: Second, you hardly even use your hands and forearms when hitting.

Your hands, wrists and forearms should be the main emphasis when getting the bat into the strike zone and are essential in the initial move of the swing. We dont pull the bat to the ball we explode it through the ball.

  • SadegoGG: First, he has kids working with extended arms (Which doesnt happen until the deceleration stage of the swing after contact)

If you pay attention to any of my videos you will see the arms dont extend until way after contact with the baseball. At contact the arms have flexion in order to drive through the ball. Pay attention to detail, its critical in instruction.

  • My prediction is that in a few years youll either be working as a toll booth collector or as a garbage man for your town.

    God Bless and Good Luck

  • I find your comments both humorous and inspiring. When people write such vicious things as you did, I know I am on the right track. What you said is not only loaded with technical ignorance but professional jealously as well.

If you really thought your remarks were worth anything you would have had the guts to sign your true name. Not only are you stupid in matters of baseball and grammar but youre a coward as well.

Third, all these drills do is isolate, which isnt even how your supposed to train (Even for forearm/grip training)

Fourth, you don't force the bat head out front with your arms, you do it with your body.

    So there..
