If you're going to put a snap on it, you should have the snap be on the inside (or facing you) with the upper part of the snap closer to you. That way you can open it with your thumb by pushing down and then put your thumb around the grip in one fluid motion.
Or you could pay like 16-18 for an OE TECH fast draw which is one motion to get it out and well matches loadouts better.
