  • she is fuckin hot

  • SPEECHLESS thank you E.BADU

    \\\ just one thing... Wonderful

  • i like to thank madlib for this beat

  • THIS ONE IS FOR DILLA

  • Shits just makes you smile yo, chief and fell the releaf.

  • She gives hip-hop a good name, finally someone with something to say.

  • genius track. in fact this whole cd was i think the best of 2008. no one is dropping it like Ms. Badu. she is the truth indeed. i.e. she lives her truth and shares it.

  • ill switch my dress code for her too! lol too bad J Electronica got the sister now....

  • Ö Love this!

    Erykah - Pure soul <3

    Love this woman *

  • Or call it JAH... Love peace blessings Namaste

  • grellmary...whole bible...or holy bible...she says its bigger than religion cause it is!! religion includng en esspclly this your christianity..is a product of the illumiati formula for mass control..its also a movmnt with followers but in no way is it the truth..sorry to bust you lil comfort zone bubble..do your research..elevate yourself...truth is ..NO MAN WALKING ON THESE STREETS knOWS WAT THE TRUTH..ULTIMATE< TRUTH IS!!!!!!!!!!sorry..

  • just right, christian religion is a farce, developed to control mankind under fear and hate against other religions, the truth is: THERE IS ONLY ONE, call it Buddha, Christ, spiritual guidance, whatever......

  • @wickedwetcat I agree somewhat but the truth is there's nothing wrong is christianity the problem is the christian's are they real or are they counterfit they're all sort's of god's and deities but there's only one true God and people over look that the preist aren't who they say they are from the start you can't let man save your soul he can't get life for you you have to get life for yourself and that's the truth from the bible.

  • Erykah is the truth. Love her.

  • i love her, damn

  • Beautiful song, beautiful soul.

  • p.s., the "remaining character count" on that was 420 lol

  • poodymac we have very similar thought styles my brotha, you must blaze hard gee!

  • bumpy knuckles hip hop allday...your rap is...the folk already know...bless up, we are family...get it?

  • thats cool. no disrespect to what u like. my point is thats not hip-hop. their kinda music is the reason why songs like this are made. cause people dont know what real hip-hop is, so everybody dont get it. plies, boosie, lil-lil rappers, etc are destroying the minds and culture of my people by putting out b.s. music and saying its hip-hop. e.b., the roots, pharoah monch, mos, the teacher, common, 4 hrsmn, wu, mf doom, ras, etc. that is hip-hop.

  • back this up 100 percent.

  • preach poodymac...preach! right on.

  • we love plies, boosie, (no b.s) ...andrew mwenda is what's up...gym class heroes too!

  • lol. i was just kidding my sista. i know u r a intelligent woman. we wouldn't be having this convo on an erykah badu song, it would be a plies song or lil boosie, or some other b.s. we all do it, so i wouldn't ridicule u. it was cute, thats all. 1

  • oops! "the" end

  • lol. i feel ya. you should have said, oops reboot my people. lol much luv

  • & you wouldn't even believe I used to be an excellent speller in grade school. lol

  • This song is hot!! Then end reminds me of George Clinton!! Wonderful message! Rebot my people! Rebot!

  • shes using hip hop as as a reference to the coming of JAH & his Son as....for ALL people thats why she says HIS name in diff. languages!!! read between the lines!!!!! Aren't all people of nationalities in ti hip hop? Read between the lines!!! LISTEN!!!!

  • she gives the name of GOD in every language in the chorus!!! Believe me!!!hold on to something ..His SON is coming...His embodiment..hold on...my people....its bigger than hip hop...people of the world & earth...he's on his way!!!!

  • i Love Ms. Badu yea i said it respect your ELDERS young People

    Erykah+Badu= Hip-Hop

  • We took over. You know what you did! You will have to answer to God for that.

African people wake up! Listen to what she's saying!

  • Song is fuckin HOT!!!! I heard it when I was in Forever21 shopping.. and i just heard it but been looking for this song forever!! finally found it, I knew it was Erykah Badu!

  • When I heard this song, I got the same feeling when I heard Parliament Funkadelic for the first time. "Not just knee deep, it was totally knee deep, if you wanna freak with me." "Something about her music, it wants to make me dance..."

True Funkateer!!! 1978 (I'm a big freak, gotta be the freak of the week.)

  • MADLIB IN THE HOUSE !!!!!!

  • baduism is my religion

  • when it comes from her it is

  • I like tha song but hip hop iz not bigger than religion

  • Hamdilallah-GOD

    Allah-God

    Jahovah-GOd

    Yahweh-God

    Dios-God

    Ma'at-goddess

    Jah-God

Rastafari-God....if she is counting up to the numba one being hiphop...She puts it before God...Wow.....she also puts dance, sex and music before God too!

  • hamdullillah is an arabic expression who significate "Grace a Dieu" ou "Merci mon Dieu" "Thanks to God"

  • Because, we must not forget ourselves. We must not forget that we should love life, and all of the blessings it offers. God IS love. God IS sex. God IS hip hop. All things are connected, and I am no specific denomination. In the end we must remember not to forsake ourselves, getting lost among all of the -isms. That is what she wants to convey, I think. But then again it's all open to individual interpretation.

  • This was in reply to

    K1J2H3thahotone

  • God is not connected with the things of the world!!!point blank period...and to say God is hip hop lol thats funny

  • Ok maybe she's saying Hip Hop is universal just like the idea in a god (different languages/religions) is universal. and love, sex and music are all universal as well. But these may be more inclusive, since there are those who do not believe in a god. Let me know if my post didn't make sense. I'll try to re-phrase it.

  • :o I got it right! :D

This is what Erykah Badu says: "b/c everywhere you go, all around the world, everyone's nodding their head to the same beat. More than we're praying to the same god." I didn't catch the ending.

  • who cares anymore lol hahaha

  • i get wat ur saying i means its really not that deep to me...i like the whole new amerykah album...but i listen to this song the least if im unsure about a song i just dnt listen to it...i havent got this one completely figured out lol

  • Yeah I know what you mean. She explains it in a video btw...It's in the related videos column to the --->

  • that means it wasn't for you then. she not even speaking to the entire hip-hop community on here. i aint gonna break it down or debate anyone, but badu drops jewels only for a small minority of people who understand. sorry

  • I am not sure if you're a Christian, but if you are, you should be ashamed! How is your God not connected to things of the world when he is supposed to be connected with human beings and works through them? How is he not connected with things of the world when his own SON was of this world? Dude, read your whole bible and stop nitpicking!

  • This is in response to one

    K1J2H3thahotone

  • this song is so Righteous! search for the truth and u will find it! it is bigger than the govt and hip hop we have been lied to on every level, we've been programmed WAKE UP! thanks utube regroup reboot restart!!!!

  • GOOD SONG GO ERYKAH BADU !

  • REal talk!

  • Very Erykah. Unfortunate that some don't posess adequate musical assessment skills to fully appreciate the craft of this woman. I FEEL her. She has a engrossing and unique way of conveying emotions and thoughts that give such DEPTH to her contributions. LONG LIVE ERYKAH, and may the rest catch up someday; Dooo you want to see, everybody rise to this degree? Raise your hands high if you agree! Just say "Its so REAL!! (Erykah Badu-Soldier)

    HIPHOP

  • can u say rev-ohh-lution..

  • what the...I must be missing something i aint feeling it as hard as everyone else

  • You have to turn it up really loud, close your eyes and yell "Nigga"...

Only then will you understand how hard this song is.

  • Maybe not by yelling "nigga" but he/she's right. To certain people hip hop is more than what the average street kid thinks...more than what the sub genre "rap" is trying to achieve with the guns, bitches and hoes. It's much BIGGER than that to me..I grew up on it it's about mixing old skool disco records together and forming a beat, its grafiti, MCLYTE, Queen Latifah, NWA, Public Enemy shall i go on...? and any artist that pays respect to that, I love.

  • I love everything you wrote.

  • I had a friend who couldn't STAND hip hop music, yet still had this song on his myspace page for the longest...lol

  • badu does it once again

  • you guys this is not hip hop this is african music

  • What?

  • which African country does this song on a chinese backing track hail from then?? Just because a black perosn is singing it and she is afro-centric if you like...doesn't automatically makie it African. I think there's alot mixed into this song. Don't hear anything quintessantially African tbh.

  • aside from the incredible music, i want the artwork to look over - no download this time

  • Hum Du'Lil-Lah, Allah, Jehovah

    Yahweh, Dios, Jah, Ach Ja

Rastafari, fire, dance, sex, music, hip hop.

    Its bigger than the government...

This one is for Dilla, hip hop.
