Ibuprofen can do more than "upset the stomach"; it can cause ulcers and holes in the stomach and be fatal, which is on the warning label. I took Advil for a toothache at 200mg which works for a while, but then the dentist prescribed 800mg. I took one does and another six hours later. I then had stomach pain for about a week which I used holistic remedies for.

Uh... no. NSAIDs are not recreational - and I bet ibuprofen would burn very badly.

I noticed taking over the counter doses of ibuprofen doesn't take away any kind of pain at all. I have to disregard the label and do my own thing to get rid of pain. I guess my body weight has something to do with it. I weigh 220lbs. I take 800 mg every 12 hours for pain. Is this ok??

I get prescribed 800 every 8 hours. That seems a lot to me. I rarely take it. I might take one every couple of months. It gets rid of pain for me because I dont take it that much.

I was admittedly taking too much ibuprofen, but not massive amounts, for about 2 months.

I developed thrombocytopenia with a platelet count of ZERO.

My blood was seeping through my skin (it looked like a rash) as it couldn't clot.

This appeared SUDDENLY too, which means the platelets had been destroyed BEFORE any symptoms even appeared.

I could've had a stroke or bled to death.

If you get a "rash" or bleeding gums, get a blood count immediately!

Mister Pharamacist Sir you never mentioned that this Drug is linked to a higher risk of Heart Attacks as it raises the Blood Pressure as it causes water and other electroyltes to pool in ones body regular BP monitoring is a good Idea
