This music is very danceable, contrast to the "stars and stripes forever", which sounds like a circus theme. One might expect to see a train of elephants enter the ring the trunks holding the tail of the next!

I agree about that feeling of the music feeling 'bleak' at the end of the movie - interesting as it's such an up-beat piece of music! It's actually perfect for the poignant ending of the movie - was it a happy or a sad ending? With both the conclusion of the story and the playing of this music it's hard to tell - and that's great!

Anyone knows what that instrument is called that you always hear in brazilian music. It's on this one too, and provides a little base. I don't know how to describe it better, but it kind of sounds like a happy fart that goes inward.

@ootahee I used to think that it was really bleak too. Now, I'm not so sure.  Sam is reduced to being a vegetable in the real world, but in his mind he gets the girl and escapes from the nightmare that was his everyday life.
