  • Love how you guys communicated to make it through the extremely challenging trail especially for the sub. That took skills. Well done gents.

  • Actually, this looks like the old Quemazon Trail--where were you, exactly?

  • Before the Cerro Grande Fire, I used to drive an '85 Suburu wagon up in this area of Los Alamos, on Pipeline Road, which I'm guessing you're going to connect to on this route in the video. That old Subie had 4WD, compound low, and skid plates, and seemed like it could go anywhere. I'm not sure my Forester has the same crawling ability. Wish Subaru would put the old transfer case on it, at least as an off-roader option. Otherwise the Forester is a 100X better car than the old GL.

  • lower gearing and a rear locker maybe help! Lol! Our dealer sell some Subis with 2 inch lift and a rear selectabel 100% locker and some skidplates for hunting.

  • U need to put a lift kit on that with sti mud flaps and a exhaust system :)

  • inspiring climb!!

  • Thanks a lot for the answer

    All the best!!

  • Few more - do you have rear LSD diff?

What is the size of BFG AT?

    Is Your car lifted?

Sorry for so many questions, but I'm thinking for swaping my Landie for a Forester.

  • @standerus

Yes, the factory Viscous LSD. It's pretty much worthless to be honest. More of an on-road LSD (and it works), versus an off-road LSD. My BFGoodrich A/T tires are 215/70 16, which is as big as you can go. My car is NOT lifted, but I'm looking to get a 2" lift here pretty soon.

  • Hi

    Nice movies, impressive

Just one question - it is automatic transmition - do You have any problems with it while offroading?

Being from Europe have to choose between N/A Manual with low ratio or Turbo with automatic.

  • were yo doing this in Drive? or the 1 2 3 gears?

  • @MrMrPaparazzi

1st gear (and reverse) the entire time.

  • Yes it was fun, but I feel sorry for your car. Buy a jeep, an old school wrangler and beat the crap out of it.

  • @cisrab

I like Jeep's and all, but everyone already knows what a Jeep can do. A Jeep crawling up something like this isn't exciting, it's "easy" and expected. I want to be different. Taking a turbocharged Subaru with a mere 8 inches of ground clearance and open diffs up something like this is a ton of fun, very challenging and shows how rugged a Subaru can be. Where's the fun in doing things the easy way? lol.

  • That is decent!!!! Subarus pwn.

  • With the low-range gearbox (no available in the USDM models), a manual would have worked, but without low range, many clutches would have been fried. lol.

  • Very impressive man. Wish I could pull that off in a manual forrie :(
