  • I'm going to the bookies now and i'm gonna put a penny on a monkey writing shakespear.

  • What?

  • what the hell is with the kids? I wanna hear from scientists, not little kids.

  • My thoughts about infinity aside, from 1:21 - 1:56 sounds EXACTLY like a theist argument, one of those theist arguments I really, really hate.

  • Shakespeare and monkeys, Yeah that's gonna solve infinities. WTF?. 2 parts to go, but maybe i should have understood the nature of this program when the kids started counting numbers.

  • Monkeys rule!

  • About the statement that infinity perhaps "doesn't exist":

One has first to define the world existence in order to remain logically consequent. The possibility that infinity perhaps doesn't exist physically has nothing to do with mathematics. In mathematics we don't examine physical reality. Infinity exists however as a concept in mind and that's existence enough for mathematical investigation.

It is irrelevant wheter we can find infinity in real world or not. This is not what mathematics do.

  • @kickniko Could you send me more info on this from you perspective ???

  • @kickniko In mathematics we don't examine physical reality? I thought Mathematics was the language of the universe. Used to describe the universe in all its glory.

  • @kickniko the only way to feel infinity is to meditate. Mathematics will never make you feel it, just almost grasp it without ever reaching it.

All infinities are contained into One consciousness. It's dynamic, multidimensional.

Mathematics do not include consciousness as the prequel to the universe yet. This is limiting their understanding power a lot. Consciousness ==> Intention ==> Potential energy becomes dynamic, movement ==> creation ==> complexion

    Namasté ;) Alain

  • portishead at 9:30 is a brilliant touch. this documentary is a must see by all people on this planet.

  • I like the typewriter monkeys!

  • Haha, how smart is the kid at 3:38? Damn... future nobel physicist here!

  • 50 words second, thats too low!

  • if there is many types of infinity then Infinity is not truly never-ending yet is never-ending relative to us as it would not be possible to travel an infinite km's in a finite period of time yet relative to infinity itself Infinity is nothing special, and the same is for Infinity to the power of Infinity and the same for Infinity to the power of Infinity to the power of Infinity and it goes on and on, so the true never-ending number should be defined, because it is truly not infinity.

  • Infinity - Infinity can equals zero because of mathematical evidence, imagine an Infinite number which was 99999999..... and has an infinite number of 9's as X and imagine you had X - X that would equals zero because each and every 9 of the X's would cancel out the other, so thats like 9-9 = 0, then 9x2 - 9x2 = 0, 9x5billion - 9x5billion = 0 and 9xInfinity - 9xInfinity = 0, so theres mathematical evidence that Infinity - Infinity can equals 0

  • wow there are more numbers 0.14654789623146587344752146666546 then in normal numbers wich we can count to infinty.that means that there are different sized infinitys....that boggles the mind

  • If the odds of the complete works of shakespear happening by chance is so extrordinarily unlikely, then why do i exist in a universe where said works exist at all?

Surely the odds of the works occuring from an objective point of view is the same in the universe whether it be infinite monkeys or intelligent individual people or random letter generators/computers.

  • Yes, unbelievably unlikely, but not infinitely unlikely.

  • my head just blew up.

  • I love how everytime i go to the next part of this show the view count drops. It's amusing to see how long people last before they give into confusion.

  • @SadisticHam I was thinking the same thing

  • @SadisticHam You have founded out the "The Law of You Tube". It says that the longer the documentary is, lower the view count gets.

  • @SadisticHam confusion to me is the know itself..

  • @SadisticHam Thats exacytly the same thought going through my mind everytime I watch a documentary.

  • @SadisticHam Thats exactly the same thought going through my mind everytime I watch a documentary.

  • @The2012phenomneon it makes perfect sense to us that time should be eternal, because a begining without time doesn't make sense to us. But who is to say that the Universe should conform to our intuition?

  • anyone know what the violin piece is at 7:20 and beyond? Much appreciated!

  • An argument from aesthetics is not a sound argument at all.
