I was in phutket when it came !

a few days later on new yrs eve i had gotten myself to pattaya

and was sickened by the 'lets continue the party' attitude of my fellow travellers ! in protest i didn't touch a drop of alcohol and went back to my hotel at 1am saddened by human nature's mindset whilst bodies were still afloat amongst the devastation.

@loki2504 Many thanks Loki... The best book for me was The English Thai Dictionary. 3 in 1. English - Pronunciation - Thai. by Mike Simpson. meteve-phuket d o t c o m. Check his site, there are other languages too for learning thai

Hey I really like your video's ... the PHI PHI one is amazing... I used my old Sony SR7 but dropped it for a Canon SX1 IS. Your video quality superior to anything ive seen...not to mention artistic too. You should do high end weddings!

What camera you using now Baz? Guessing a Sony by the good low light shots? 500/520?

Yeah i went for the xr500 this time, for the excellent low light shots. Hope you had a good new year, patong beach was crazy. I just about go to the beach for midnight having to weave through hideous amounts of traffic up and down pavements etc.

Suspected so. I think I'll buy one. Got an HV30 but after one that can be used in low light , on the fly (great image stabilisation). Looks like the XR500 is ideal. Been following your posts and I thought you might get one. My only concern with moving from Tape/Pinnacle to HDD/Vegas is whether my laptop can handle can handle it. I got an HP with Dual Core processor and 4GB RAM. Think it will be enough?

Wish I was there. Made it last year, but not sure I will get out this year....but trying.

Yes the image stabilisation has improve so much from the sr12 i had before....... I was really dissappointed with the sr12 but this upgrade has made a big difference. I really wanted more manual controls but the low lux switch is quite amazing.

Yeah i think your laptop will be fine..... my desktop back at home is 3 years old now and can handle hd files in vegas no probs.. Laptop I have with me now is Dell XPS 1330 2.6 dual with 4gb ram... Works fine.
