this version is from the 2005 Broadway revival of Sweet Charity. Its the latest version

Of course this wasn't "Fosse production with professionals" ... but I just loved this! The SPIRIT of Fosse and enjoyable act was achieved with non-prof high school kids. It's great when coreographer takes skills into account - especially in a way that there's still enough chalenge for performers ... and you could see that enjoyment of beating the challenge from those kids :) ... GOOD JOB!

well they did a good job. But the alloof section was too...big. It needs to start small and then grow into something. But it WAS well done

first of all what is the beginning all about?

second we are doing sweet charity as our high school play and it isn't very much like the movie but it sort of captures the style of fosse

I don't know if this is hugely simplified for people who aren't actually experienced dancers, but it seems to miss the whole essence of Fosse's choreography. There may be a few steps that look like moves within his choreography, but they only resemble them slightly, the actual style appears to have been lost.

I totally agree with this. They have the wrist twists and some good arm movement, but it's two big and flowy to really capture Fosse. I think the 'Aloof' section totally missed the point as well.

Yes, definately, they appear to have tried to copy movements from the 'The Heavyweight' section during the 'The Aloof' and it doesn't really work.
