Finally! An actual live video of Jaco (as opposed to a picture or montage of pictures) when he was really ON! Aside from his instructional video, and a couple of Joni Mitchell and Weather Report DVDs...good live Jaco videos are few and far between. Thanks for posting!. (Nice drums too, BTW).
i just logged back into my 4 or 5 year old account to say this, it is the gods honest truth that Jaco never took a formal music lesson yet he taught at 2 colleges, and made an instrucional book and video. ive never seen that as a comment so i wanted to say it. the man was a one in a century musician plain and simple. Jaco is still playing through the hearts of dedicated musicians,
HI ! i live in Berlin , i got the record "triligue" i i think the concert was recorded by a german chanel , one time i met albert mangeldorf about 1999 in ibiza , spain and toll me the story and some details about how JACO was landed in that gig...is a long tale ..but is the first time i see that "tresure" MR DOCTONE , millons of thanks to sharing, i m argentinian , but i live many years here in BERLIN Germany. do you think we can meet and maybe have a complet copy of that cocert?
The most depressing thing about it is, so few know who this man is/was. This guy spent every waking moment of us life holding a freaking bass and he played it better then almost any musician has ever played any instrument and so few know who he is. People ask me the best bassist ever and I say Jaco and I get confused expressions and questions. What a loss to the world.
ejflesher, exact same thing happens over here where i live, any time we talk about bass in school, people immediately say flea, but they have no idea this man was alive they look at me like im an idiot when i say jaco
@jryuwah nevermind dude it's history and also kids are into metal or alternative not expose to real music so how can they know about real musicians who are masters flea compared to Jaco is really a 'flea' haha
Man, Jaco never ceases to amaze me. I wonder if this is still when he was totally clean and sober. I think I like this phase best, when he was just a badass and played like he was really focused on it. Instead later, while I still love his playing, he was doing too many drugs and paying too much attention to being "Jaco"
you should add ALPHONSE MOUZON to the tags, because many Mouzon fans would love to see that hot playing ( especially on that tune) by Alphonse, but won't find it. Thanks!

Dear Doctone, can't you do us a favour and upload the whole song! Because for me Albert Mangelsdorff marks the highlight of this concert ... :-)

As awesome as these two are together in the clip, they are both eclipsed by the solemn majesty of the red leather cap worn by Alphonse.

That hat is a special effect all in itself...
