I like this version also, the version used now has more of a piano thump heard at 0:07, 0:12, and 0:14, never liked that. This one has more of a smooth hall feel.
this is the first re-recording of the Y&R theme in 1988...a few months later, it was re-recorded again and that would be the current theme we would hear until 1999...which was then eloquently brought back in 2003 for its anniversary.
This is the 1988 re-recording of the Y&R opening theme. It's not much different from the original 1973 recording since all they did was enhance the sound quality for stereo.

Wish they kept this sound. It has more of a hall sound or echo.very similar to todays,but more depth and great

It's not a mix of the two versions -- it's the 1988-1999 version, but btm85bubs recorded this on his VCR, so it sounds different.
