Favela tours are a sick way of making money on top of misery. It is shameful and tourist should not be spending their money on it. If you really want to help these people, put pressure on government officials to give them adequate housing and schooling. If you want to help, reach out to NGOs that provide better housing and education for these children. If you really want to help, stop buying drugs that come out of these favelas.
