I have been on several month long water fasts, and one forty day fast. All I got was a sow metabolism. I did lose about twenty pounds the first month. And I was gently active on all the water fasts, except from day 38 to 40. That was a near death experience... very miserable. But really, I messed myself up. Try just fasting no more than a week. I feel I am a pro with this advice.
@julieoftheearth1 My program does utilize a unique form of cleansing, that is designed to last just about that long...six to eight days. I have always had excellent results from these lengths. Thanks for the input!
Well...;)...Kikyo asked of *foods* that have no calories, so in my occasional WAY overly-obnoxiously word-precise style, celery of course *does* have calories; approx 6 per stalk. The notion that you may however BURN those calories via eating it, makes for a good argument. ;) (And one that I won't argue...;p)
@solojam I use the Magnesoothe Max about twice per day, under my arms, as a fantastic deodorant that is actually healthy for a change; most deodorants have alluminum, just horrible for the body. I'll also use the varioius Magnesoothe products randomly to amp up my magnesium levels, it's such an awesome mineral. Use google checkout at their site and put "facelessfatloss" in the coupon code for a discount. :)
Bottom line is, bro', you are absolutely beautiful to look at, an almost perfect build in my eyes. and so you must be doing something right, period. The proof is in the pudding. Why don't you just take your shirt off and show people what they can expect to gain by losing??? Why not?
If you mean biceps specifically, just standing cable curls, it's the only exercise that works for me now. Used to do various dumbell curls, but it began bothering my joints, so I discontinued them about four years ago.
I've got to try to make this short as possible. My stomach growls 1 hr after eating so I put the grains back. Now i'm just hungry. I eat about 1 cup of Quinoa a day along with vegies & some type of protien. 20%protien 20%fat 60%carbs. Most of the carbs come from the vegies. So should I eat more protien or carbs to take the edge off of my hunger?
You can try fiber supplements to help fill the void. I struggle with suggesting this to people because some of the fiber supplements out there; they are a bit extreme. Instead, I always tell people that a period of time is involved in this process. The size of the stomach won't shrink, but it's capacity becomes used to less caloric intake, if that is your goal. Believe me, your body DOES adjust, it just takes varying amounts of time depending on the person. I used to eat about twice as much.
Goodness you should *never* be *that* hungry. If so, you need to EAT! My title was meant to be a bit silly. Altho calorie restriction has benefits, you have to apply those benefits to longevity, NOT fat loss. Meaning, if you starve yourself, your metabolism goes haywire and your body will then opt to STORE fat as a starvation response. So to answer your question, as a starting point, hit some great fibrous veges like broccoli before bed. Prepared right, they are VERY satisfying.
It depends on what STYLE of detox you want to take on. There are aggressive detoxifications, or less so that need to be done over greater amounts of time. As a definite starting point, green veges galore are extremely helpful in a detox process.
what???? burn more calories than you take in and you lose weight? BINGO! Falls under the same umbrella (are you listening america) dont spend more than you can afford! you make it all seem so simple. i really love listening to you. i dont need to lose weight but love the health issues you bring up as well. keep up the excellent work!
First of all Thank You for the comment, but please make sure my point is understood...it is not simply a matter of calories in/calories out. It is a matter of quality and KINDS of calories, as well as carbs, fats and proteins, that make the difference. But thanks again for the comment! :)
So, what you are saying is that, in a diet that has one take in fewer calories, one's fat loss depends on the type of calorie conusmed, right? 20 ounces of chicken breast versus 20 ounces of bacon will be used differently by the body, correct? So, even on a calorie-restricted diet, it does indeed matter what type of calories one conusmes.
It absolutely does. You can use an even clearer example by asking which kinds of CARBS are more likely to store fat on your body...a potato the size of a dark chocolate bar, or the chocolate bar itself. The starchy potato with the loosely bonded polysaccharides is far more detrimental than the chocolate bar with the simpler sugars. And yet the chocolate is far more satisfying to the palate. Kudos. :)
Apparently I messed up, cuz you're not the only one who took it wrong. This is one of the great disadvantages to not having a FACE. If my viewers could've SEEN me, they'd see a big sarcastic/silly smile. I'll be more careful next time (and/or ease up on the crazy pills). ;-)
Just double checking, when you say "No calories", do you really mean 'zero calories', as in total calories consumed is equal to that burnt off? Or simply 'zip my mouth, no food is passing that way'?
See above reply, apologies. I was being silly and my execution was just awful. ;-) Yes, I was suggesting that people not eat anything at all for a month, in an effort to explain the relevance (but my distaste for) calorie counting.
I'm kind of in the same boat SirMaximus21. I'm 43, 6'2" 265#, I workout 3-5x a week but I had a hernia back in Dec and now a torn rotator cuff in my shoulder. I had surgery for the hernia and I got depressed because I couldn't workout and just quit working out all together for 3 months and I gained 25-30#... I'm trying to get to 215# by my 44th b-day in Sept. I'm stuck at 262# ugh.
I had a severe herniation three years ago right now, L5-S1, that lasted three months. As if my previous health issues weren't bad enough! It was extremely painful. Nerve pain is something you never forget. I actually continued working out during the herniation, something I would NEVER suggest to anyone except an advanced trainer. Supplementation, time, and physical therapy resolved the issue, but it was hard. I modified my diet to compensate for less activity. Worked well.
I'm not sure if you misunderstood or maybe I din't type that right. I had a inguinal hernia in the lower abdomen. Luckily I caught it before it perforated the abdominal wall.
No misunderstanding, I understood; I just went on to describe my herniation. Mine was disc. Completely different forms of herniation, but herniations none the less. ;)

You need calories. It has some energy. The reason people say it's bad, because they eat more than they use.

Celery...its negative calories. You burn more chewing and digesting it then consuming it.

hey there, thanks for the video!
I have a question, can I lose enough weight and then build muscles for my birthday?
I am 19 years old and weight 230 pounds height is 6 feet tall. I want to lose enough weight that I can THEN start building muscles.
I have good strong arms from work, but that's it.
My birthday is in July 29, so I have about 4 months.
thank you for the help
