great upload - didn't know about the tomb portrait of these egyptian lovers - and loved the video on roberto bolle in which the emperor Hadrian's lover Antinous fades into robero b. great channel! cheers from Sydney
I do not agree with your statement that 'Gay men can have sex with women to have children'. You should have perhaps said that 'some' gay men could....Because I know of many who would never consider it or be physically capable of it. Nor would they want to. It is not as black and white as that. But I am taking it out of context, I know, of what you were explaining. A beautuful video from you again, very well done....would like to see someone do a video of famous gays through history. Thanks.
ToyBoySqueeze, my statement was meant to reflect human biology and as such, was 100 % correct. The testes of Gay men produce sperm, which can fertilize the female human egg, equally to the same process as the sperm produced by the testes of a heterosexual male. Whether or not a given Gay male would wish to naturally impregnate a female is a separate question.
I doubt the "gay gene" is fully 100% genetic I think... if it is a gene, it must work as other physiological variants. Meaning someone could have the gene and not develop it.
However, the presence of that gene must be fairly common among humans... since most families have at least one bisexual or homosexual member. I just think it must be rarely triggered. Than again, I'm not a scientist, I only have the habit of making my own theories on unanswered questions.
@tenedria The first modern study by Masters and Johnson of human sexuality used a scale of 1 to 10, with those who are exclusively heterosexual at "1" and those who are exclusively homosexual at "10". The majority of people fall in-between with a small minority at the two extremes. When census and polls indicate 2% to 3% of the populaion is "homosexual" that probably refers to the "10" group. The physiological variants you mentioned probably affect where a person falls on the scale.
And your own father was heterosexual, but you are proud not to be. So, how does this affect the nature of the relationship between Alex and Hephaestion? Anyway, let's leave it at this. Peace
I was just trying to point out that Gay men can have sex with women to produce children, but then prefer to have sex with other men. King Philip of Macedon had many male lovers, but he married and had a child, which was his duty. If we needed more population, I can have sex with a woman to make babies, but that would not change me from being homosexual and preferring sex with men.
Anyway, thanks for watching the video and posting comments.
Well it is also known that Phillip and Alexander had many female lovers as well. In fact, there is more evidence to them being heterosexual than homosexual, although they were probably bisexual.
You can't say Alexander was gay because he fucked more women than most straight men will! He obviously had affection for women such as Roxana, Stateira, and Barsine!
So many heterosexuals today try to explain male-female relationships in ancient societies as being the same as male-female relationships today, when in fact they are not. Heterosexuality did not exist in ancient societies as it exists today, because men of that time viewed sex with men or women as being totally acceptable. Heterosexuality is a creation of modern societies after the introduction of christianity and islam.
Oh Nightmonkey, most of us Gay guys have boned women when we were in high school and college, all the time knowing what we really wanted, and then when we finally got some dick, we didn't go back. Big ole hunky masculine Alexander, the pride of Macedon, Greece and almost all of the civilized world at his time, the greatest military general of all time, loved to get boned by his hunky lover Hephaestion too and that's a fact!
It's a fact known to you that Aleksander enjoyed it??? LOLLLS!!!
Maybe you know some other FACTS, too? Like it was painful but pleasant for Julius Caesar when he was passive in gay sex?
If seriously, very maybe Alexander the Great was bisexual and not entirely homosexual, though I don't really know. Therefore he is LGBTIQ person anyway and is a part of that history:)
Finally, I want to say I found this video quite moving, although I am not gay, but I also don't understand why gay people choose their sexuality out of all aspects of their general world conception to promote as the major factor of their self-perception. Is it a political statement, a struggle for equality?
During the 1960's civil rights movement, Afro-Americans began using the slogan "black is beautiful" as an in-your-face statement to white bigots who held whites as superior to blacks, and as a forceful affirmation that the beauty of humanity is not defined by one's skin color. Similarly, we Gays too must fight the deragotory put-downs (e.g., faggot) and discriminations by heterosexuals, because the beauty of humanity is not defined by one's sexual orientation either!
If you are heterosexual, the5thillusion, then think what your life would be like if everyone got to vote on whether your relationship to a life partner would be recognized before the law or if you and your partner had any rights at all as a couple. It has only been a few years since homosexuals were thrown in jail in the U.S. for making love to a same sex partner in the privacy of their own homes. Gays can still be fired from their jobs in most States here in the U.S. just for being Gay.
Hmm, is this what happens in the USA? Weird, because you are generally considered a young and tolerant culture.
In Greece and I believe pretty much everywhere in the EU political marriages do not exclude homosexual couples, nor is sexual oriantation legal ground for any violation of civic rights.
Ok, if you struggle for equality before the law you have my sympathy, because it should be self-evident.
Do not forget the United States gave the world George W. Bush for 8 years. Most of the U.S. is very conservative Protestant and Evangelical Christian and very culturally intolerant. Equal civil rights for everyone is just the "image" of the U.S. around the world and is not the reality here. Greece and the EU are far more politically tolerant than the U.S. and far more culturally developed than our society. The EU leads the world, including the U.S., in equality and human rights for everyone.
Also, Alexander was not homosexual. No ancient source speaks of sexual intercourses between him and Hephaestion. He obviosly loved him more than his wifes, but that does not seem so unnatural considering he was a man who had accompanied him in countless hardships ever since they were teens and later shared and supported his vision of merging civilisations in a court increasingly infested by machiavelic schemes.
Believe what you want to, but historical writings and facts support the sexual relationship beween Alexander and Hephaestion. Indeed, Alexander's own father, King Philip II of Macedon, was murdered by Pausanias. According to the Greek historian Cleitarchus, Pausanias was the sexual lover of Philip and became jealous when Philip turned his sexual attentions to a younger man. Marriage and making babies was a duty to the city state, but sex between men in ancient Greece was a gift from the Gods!
Oh and Eros' arrow did sway the love of men for other men; and the Spartans, before going to war would go to his temple to pray because they encouraged love among their ranks so they would fight more fiercely and placed lovers side by side. So its funny that in the movie 300 Leonidas mocks the Athenians for being un-warrior-like by calling them "boy lovers". Err...but then again Xerxes had beef with Athens not Sparta; whole movie was stupid. Based on a comic not history.
Thanks for the two comments tarshil2020. The movie 300 was clearly made solely for heterosexual entertainment and consumption. Hollywood has never been known for including historical truth in its movies. Unfortunately, people believe what they see in the movies and never read a history book!
This was great! I'm not gay but I think love is not blinded by oppressive beliefs and hate it when people hurt other for their stupid ideas. I'm a great lover of history and you are right about homophobic historians re-writing it to suite their purposes. Starting with the Romans. My mentor calls these historians the whores of fascist government.

what you accomplish with these videos for our community is nothing short of amazing...thanks so much, i am proud to be part of an amazing community...thanks for this...michael
Its amazing that with all of the history books and the archeological sites, that christianity and other "new" religions have been able to keep the truth about homosexuality underground. It was normal behavior in ancient civilizations all the way up to the Chinese Imperial Empire. Just amazing-Great video.
Thank you, Allen. This is a majestic and proud declaration of truth. Many among us don't know our own history. This isn't only a challenge to fraudulent historians but also a clarion call to gays that we learn and speak proudly of our heritage from antiquity to the present..
The more of our Gay history that I learn about the more I realize what has been taken from us Kestal. Who and what we are as humans has been denied us. Homosexuals are a rightful part of the human race and for myself, the time has passed for tolerating bigoted slurs, insults and discrimination! None of us should expect respect until we respect ourselves. There was a reason black civil rights champions yelled "black is beautiful"! Well, Gay is just as beautiful as straight!
Do you have an agenda ???? LOL Seriously. Your videos need to be shown not only at Gay Pride events, but at ALL events where Gay Rights are discussed or debated.
Thank you my Proud Pagan friend for watching and for the very generous and gracious comment!
Rumor has it that you danced across every dance floor in New Orleans and all the way down Bourbon Street this week .... and then came home today dressed only in beads!
I will make a playlist "gay history", and add this to it.
The only thing I don't agree with is the text at the end : "In the sacred Name of Antinous. I am one with Antinous I am Anthinous" I will comment further about this in a message to you.
Hello Holebis. Thanks for the very nice comment on the video!
Regarding Antinous, please remember, as Piero recently reminded me, that each person's religious beliefs are personal to them and are to be respected, if you wish respect in return. I am truly Pagan and not Christian, and a follower of Phanes Eros Protogonus and Antinous-Osiris. My videos reflect my beliefs and my signature veneration of Antinous is recited within the Ecclesia Antinoi, of which I am a member.
Thank you Beto for that wonderful comment! I just wanted to do something in video to celebrate Khnumhotep And Niankhkhnum. Their close embrace in the tomb painting, the brushing of noses which is equivalent to a lip-lock kiss today, and their sharing of life and death is a love story that speaks so loudly even today 4,409 years after their deaths!
Ohh my, what can I say more, the video is more amazing, it's great, wonderful, I'm pround of being what I am. Thanks so much for this great video and message
Thanks! I only learned about Khnumhotep And Niankhkhnum this past week and was blown away at the attempts by Egyptologists in published literature on them to use every explanation they could about the joint tomb, except "Gay"!
