  • I LOVE this! I'm so getting this from you guys. Thanks you'll. :D

  • I just bought one of these yesterday. Awesome pedal, I spent more time doing a demo jam in the sound room than ever before.

  • I just bought one...should be good for the Zappa material & blues...I'm not worried about the boost bypass 'cos I'll be running the ol' Mutron III in front of it!

  • why is it that I want to buy eveything Andy plays? It really not fair.

  • this wha or the dunlop Jerry cantrell ????

  • @MrWarland this wah!!

  • @OZZYTS808

i've got it.... no a such difference between the cantrell (in red). Very good wah

  • This is really an amazing wah. Why, though, do they not allow the MC401 Line Driver to be activated while the wah is off?? That would make this 2 pedals in one and push an already great tool over the top. Really a foolish design oversight.

  • Would have liked to hear more of the yellow high end wah

  • This is obviously the best Wah of all time. So versatile and Distinct. The Throat inductor is great for Alice In Chain's type stuff the the other is Fantastic for the Original Crybaby Wah sound's.

  • i can see some kind of lubricant in there .... is it necessary to have that part of the pedal lubricated at all times????

  • @alexmetallicaZFC13 that comes standard with every CryBaby Wah. Just to ensure long lasting wah wah and to make sure moving the pedal isn't a challenge.

  • I am so glad I bought one of these. I have gad so many wahs from vintage to modern and this one is amazingly versatile for cleans to any amount of gains. q is on the inside because once you find the voice you like it keep it from changing. No big deal. This wah is less than some others I recently had which only sounded good on high gain. This one gets that cool Hendrixy clean tone as well as into Trower and others. Dig it.

  • AAAH! ordered mine and i hate waiting

  • what song was he playing at 2:23!?

  • @SethYoda71 we all want to know

  • hey could you guys do a review of the dimebag wah?

  • How does this compare against the RMC Wizard? And people seem to think this sounds better than the EVH, but when I heard it (here on Youtube), the EVH seemed to have a wider sweep and get into brighter territory than the CAE...

  • even flow. thoughts arrive like butterflies yeah!!

  • Why the shit would you put the Q adjustment pots on the inside!? I like the pedal but if I buy it I'm drilling holes in the side and rewiring some exterior pots.

  • Even flow :P

  • Amazing pedal !

  • this or jerry cantrell wah. i play alot of guns n roses, led zeppelin, funk and blues. i really like the jerry cantrell wah but this is getting really good reviews. i can't go to a shop and try it out because i'm buying overseas and most australian stores don't stock that many medium-high end wahs. so i need some real big help

  • I was looking at either this wah or the 535q crybaby because of their versatility, which would you guys recommend for things like blues/rock, hard rock, metal, etc.?

  • @GuitarAddiction7 this would probably by more versatile because it has the dual inductors, so you could cover more genres. the 535q is more vintage sounding to my ear, so for things like hard rock and metal this would probably be better. Overall i think that the CAE is the best, just a personal preference though

  • this or one of the signature crybabys

  • by far one of the best wahs on the market..

    beats up boutique ones easier..

  • what are those shoes?

  • Got the MC404, Now what are those shoes,

where can i get them Great style

  • what's better this or the crybaby 535q

  • Cry Baby 535Q <3

  • when i got this i thought it had cake in it.sooo stupid.

  • Question. Can you use the line driver w/o the wah engaged?

  • maybe one of the best wah's around?

  • @slayerized667 for sure. sold my clyde deluxe and picked´up this one... more agressive, more versatile... the internal trimpots for "Q" lets you adjust the tighness of the wah, so, if you want something more creamy or more agressive you can dial it! besides the dual fazel, one for soloing screaming fucking loud and other one more 'vocal-like' vintage.. put your shoes on it, won´t regret

  • If you kind folks at PGS want to please a dedicated true fan of yours please answer this- How does this wah fare against an older Budda Budwah (not the new ones, apparently they're crappier now), or against say a Hendrix Signature (the one I own)...or Buddy Guy wah? I mean quality of parts, durability and general sound (its brighter, has bigger sweep, etc) thanks guys, PGS is the best!

  • true hardwire bypass not true bypass

  • Ever since I got my first Crybaby years ago, I've always wondered what that white-ish substance is that's kind of covering the little gears inside the wah at around 0:35. Anybody know what it's called?

  • @gbgg9409 Paint?

  • @gbgg9409 It looks like lithium grease ... the same stuff they put on the door hinges in your car. reduces friction

  • @gbgg9409 i've always assumed it was lube...sucks when you get it on your hands

  • hi PGS which one is better?

this wah or the 535q wah?

  • I own a Morley and Dime Signature Wah, and this is the best wah I've heard. Period.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos can you guys please demo the JH-1FW Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Wah. I know Andy will do the pedal justice. Thank you.

  • Man this is sweet. Andy, your voice is like audible chocolate. You're like a cooler version of Casey Kasem AND with good taste in music. I just bought one of these from you guys and I'm stoked on getting it. Chalk another order up to these awesome gear videos and great customer service. PGS rocks.

  • I bet you get home every day and think to yourself 'I love my job'. Just letting you know that you do a damn good job of it- even though I'm across the pond I still use the PGS vids to pick out gear! Kudos from 'sunny' England!

  • @AidyDamage - Thank you, from the equally "sunny" Portland, Oregon! We do enjoy our jobs. Thanks for watching!

    -PGS Video Crew

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos Sunny?? You should spend 30 mins in Texas. It is so bright and hot here you feel like the earth is spinning into the sun.

  • even flow!!! 0:31 - 0:40 lol

  • Does anyone know if this would be good to get an Alice in Chains-type sound?

  • @meatloafcomics Now it's out the Jerry Cantrell Signature wah, that is cheaper than this, and it's fantastic. I have a Crybaby 535Q multiwha and in the booklet inside that a Jerry cantrell setting. Look at the 535Q or the Jerry Cantrell signature.

  • @meatloafcomics Based on what I understand about this pedal vs the jerry cantrell model, i think you'd want to use the red fasel inducter for a darker wah with more low/mid emphasis for more a more Jerry Cantrell like sound. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

  • 2:24=omg!

  • Does the line driver work if the wah is off?

  • @robboster No.

  • dude the red inductor sounds awesome

  • i want this pedal

  • Got mine a week ago. It's fucking great.

  • nice wah, wonder how it stands up against a clyde deluxe?

  • not is this only a very good pedal demo but it relaly shows the nuances of the les paul/strat differneces

  • can the boost be used without the wah engaged?

  • @ItsStephenSON I really want a new wah, and I really want the Custom Electronic Booster/line driver. If I can use the Boost without wah then I am sold.

  • This, the Buddy Guy, Jerry Cantrell, Kirk Hammett and EVH wah's are the best out there imo. I'd probably be more inclined to get this over any of the others though, this one has the versatility

  • jimi hendrix approved.

  • to me this is the one that can go toe to toe against the fulltone clyde.

  • probably the best wah i ever hearded

  • nice shows andy.

  • Does it have the standard "Q" settings or maximized? thanks, Pavel

  • Yes, It has. There are two separate pots for each inductor and one pot for gain. You can see it in 0:55.

  • True Bypass?

  • Yes, true bypass.

  • I've had for about a month and so far I am very happy. I tried a gold rmc-3 on this same board and I like the CAE wah better

  • I haven't tried copping J's sound for a while, but back in the day I got closest by running guitar into an overdrive into wah into Big Muff and engaging both distortions. I've no idea if this is what J did, but having gain on both sides of the wah gives you that crazy, haunted house sounding wah like on "Kracked" and others. Try it and see if that get's you in the neighborhood.

  • even flooooooooooooow

  • Fuck yeah.

  • I'm looking for that same Dino sound. Don't now how J makes it sound like that, but I know that he is using this very pedal... Well he didn't back in the days, but he does know.

  • Question.

Would this help me in sounds to...let's say, Dinosaur Jr.? As in the wah sounds he gets in the extreme amount? Like "Little Fury Things".

  • @ :56 are those IC's? board mounted jacks? Thanks but no thanks. That circuit board looks like it was populated and soldered by a machine. $170? Boutique price for a mass produced wah? I'd pay 170 for hand wired but not for this. It does sound good though. No qualms there.

  • Question; does this pedal have any sort of "fuzz friendly buffer". I noticed that you have the MXR in buffer mode so I'm guessing not.

Thanks for your time! Great demo of a fantastic sounding wah.

  • Hello! Could you please tell me which wah is better this one or Buddy Guy Signature? Which one has a wider range? Which has better performance?

  • good question baldur, i have also thought about that since i belive the buddy guy and the cae wah are the best 2 crybabys on the market today

  • Thank you? ColdGreenChili. The main difference between them is that CAE uses two different circuits (inductors are different) for different tones and buddy guy wah uses a frequency filter. In my opinion its better to use two different circuits, but in music - who knows? awaiting my CAE soon...

  • @Baldur778 the buddy wah sounds much more musical to me.

  • This thing sounds pretty nice, curious if you can replace the inductors with say a Whipple Inductor? Also wondering if it has a fuzz buffer because it sounds pretty nice with the fuzz (I know some wahs don't)?

  • such a sexy wah.

  • this is a great wah, does anyone know how to adjust the "Q", the manual isn't very clear on that topic...

  • yeah - I wonder about that as well...

  • remove the silicon on top of the pots, use a sharpie to mark the default position and then tweak it until you like what you hear. Thats all I can tell you lol let me know if you find a better way to do it

  • It's official. You have the best job in the world.

  • what a great review of a great wah! Andy rocks!

  • Comment removed

  • That's what I get for reading their manual online. Yes, It's a Hot Potz II. Someone should let Dunlop know I suppose!

  • hi Andy

hey but once the CTS run out, can replace it with any hot potz?? :D

  • whats CTS? :)

    I'm gonna buy this.

  • Hi Andy,

It does not have CTS potentionmeter , it's a standard Hot Potz II used in many other Dunlop wahs. Am I wrong?

  • very nice, this is going on my wishlist..i wonder if PGS takes paypal

  • .... 2 Fasels?! Epic!!!! I am getting!

  • what kind/brand of shoes are u wearing

  • does all those switches compromise the tone?

  • Nope its true bypass

  • Is the wah pedal better than a Fulltone Clyde?

  • I would say this just because of the built in booster and different inductors.

  • I have a Clyde Deluxe and love the tone of it. It's all a matter of taste, both are incredibly versatile. To my ears, the CAE doesn't sound as sweet and musical, but some might prefer the more "in-your-face" sound of it and it's much more mid-prononuced sound, which cuts better through the mix (the Fulltone cuts through the mix nicely as well, don't worry). The only thing in this clip that's steering me away from the CAE is the small sweep with distortion at 2:40 to 3:00.

  • is it better to put wah before or after distortion?

  • i think is better before distortion because i tried mine after and it sound horrible when you activate it, it sounds like the wah dominates the distortion and decreases the ditortion power.......at list with my effects

  • Evenflow!!! I thought i loved you before... but that blew me away!

  • I WANT!

  • this thing takes a dump on the 535q

  • LOL i guess they don't pay you enough Andy !!! you always demo the wah's with the same shoes . guys lets all make donations to buy Andy a new shoes LOL .

  • he probably spends all the money he does get on guitar gear...right....that's what i do

  • Does this pedal get scratchy like a crybaby classic?

  • every wah with a potentiometer will get scratchy over time, but its not very expensive to fix and it takes a while if its a good pot.

  • thats the easiest problem in the world to fix. all you have to do is take the back off, unscrew the white plastic piece that holds the piece of plastic attached to the pot in place, pull the piece of plastic back, play and turn the pot until you cut out the harsh top end, then put it back together.

  • hahah

  • to me more of weh weh.......... not enough breath or OPENING of the wah. sorry sounds good , but looking for more of a 180 degree sound and than 120.

  • WAHHHUU! the best wah ever, and it´s an MXR

  • Andy,

I have been looking at some wahs in replacement for my GCB-95 Crybaby. Could you please post a video for the Buddy Guy wah, if posible.

  • this thing is filthy ! monster sound :]

  • Wow, I think I like it more than my Clyde Deluxe and it's a good $100 cheaper. Two inductors, built in boost, nice handy device.

  • O.O I want it!!! it will be great in the place of my cry baby gcb 95... lol

  • Nice sneaks. Are they Skechers? :)

  • How much for this beast?

  • sounds awesome btw

  • what the hell is custom audio electronics???

  • Well, Bob Bradshaw (owner) has built effects and switching systems for a few artist that you may be familiar with. Such as: Mike Landau, Steve Lukather, Ed Van Halen, Steve Vai and more.

  • oh thanks for answer

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos arn't they like a branch of Dunlop?

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos

Ed Van Halen sounds like a poser. Who are those guys again?

  • Dunlop/MXR

  • 2:03 - 2:12 = badass!

  • youre vids just get better and better!!

  • I got one of these from PGS. I have to say I love it to death.

  • I have a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe anditwasadifficult choice between it and the CAE 404. By the Way, CAE builds the Bradshaw Rig $25,000+ Satriani uses. Along with 100 other stars.

  • wow!!!

  • looks sexy, i would almost have no use for the red inductor tho

  • Its $170. sounds great

  • I see a Dunlolp pot not a CTS :?

  • Its a dunlop/CAE joint product. They've done this stuff before

  • ib4 Kirk Hammett

  • this one or the clyde deluxe??

    or the keeley modified?

  • Its not Clyde Mcoy...(I think at least). It is made by the Dunlop owned company MXR...as for Custom Audio Electronics, I've never heard of it, seems like a company involved with MXR and Dunlop or a word used to mean high class Dunlop and MXR pedals

  • Custom Audio Electronics is Bob Bradshaw's company, he is a legend in the guitar effects, amp and in particular custom pedal board industry. He has worked with people like Steve Vai since the 80's.

  • i couldn't believe this wah when i first heard it on another video, its the best sounding wah i have ever heard bar none

  • wow this is awesome!!

  • how much do these cost?

i need a wah and i'm prob gonna get this one.

  • go on to their website he mentions and you can find out

  • bout 170

  • This is the ultimate wah pedal! Awesome pedal!

  • such choice footwear

  • man that has got to be the best sounding wah I have ever heard very clear and articulate. ss72

  • that wah sounds great

  • Damn that thing is tasty, but I love my Vox wah-wah :].

  • nice... CAE strikes again!

  • awesome

  • what was played as the intro?

  • i can't say for sure but i think it is just some improvised licks

  • pearl jam even flow solo

  • nice shoes

  • That's cool, i've never seen a wah with those high freq./low freq. options before

  • Damn I oughta pick one of these up

  • finally a video of this!

  • awesome i need this

  • Omg , epic wah
