Great Song and agree it should have been a Single...she sounds great but sounds even better now....her Voice seems to have matured and it has more depth to it as you can notice on her Album "X" ...But as far as I'm concerned Kylie would sound good to me gargling....
@Clof1959 Exactly - you've got that with out the Kylie culture/ intense Media coverage of Kylie . It was the rel biggest Jump in sound of her voice from 1st to 2nd album - the ballads on EY i grew to like + appreciate the more i got older where the ultimate truth she could sing depiste what the critics said + why i wasn't so surprise to her her first NON _ PWL album vocal arcobatics, clarity, control + power, was surprised to see her have operatic ability. I believe in you classic
Should have been a single, loved this when I bought Enjoy Yourself in '89. Her voice sounded so much more natural than on the first album... Way better single choice than "Tears On My Pillow"!
This song is from the album "Enjoy Yourself" which started me off on the long happy road of being a Kylie fan. Yes ofcourse I liked the "Kylie" album but this has always been one of my favs. Love every song on it, like this one :)
this should've been a potential single release for kylie by SAW. it had all the ingredients to make it a hit record, just like i should be so lucky, hand on your heart etc. personally, this is one of my favourite kylie songs ever
I've heard that this was supposed to have been the final single from "Enjoy Yourself" to be released, but was nixed when "Better The Devil You Know" was recorded instead. Is there any truth to that? If so, it was a shame. I think this song could have been a hit...but then again, so was "Better The Devil You Know". ;)
Definitely in the top 5 Kylie/SAW tracks of all time (along with Got To Be Certain, Better The Devil and What Do I Have To Do). Brilliant chords as ever from Mike Stock.
..cont....There was some evolution, it wasn't just a carbon copy of the first album formula - it was just right-not too big or small a step imo very slightly edgier/harder midaway between the 1st album and the harder starker dance pop of the ROL/3rd album CLASSIC singles. Kylies voice was also smoother, stronger and increased in ability of its range (in a relative sense naturally).
Just the sort of magical uplifting song in the music and Kylie's voice (notably the "aahhh - ahh" in the chorus) "a single that never was" i expected + hoped for after the first album made such an impact on me when i really began to to take a serious interest in music at the beginning of my teenage years.

Why they never released this as her single. This song is so much better than Never Too Late during that era.
