how much of this is really propaganda for the new ideology of uni education as business. in other words, instead of colonizing iraq... the rich can colonize the unis, mine them for student-customer moneys... like the book 'confessions of an economic hitman', the elite can now apply their methods internally. turn the student body into an indebted underclass, threatening it with the bugbear 'financial crisis' to pass any old dumb policy no one would vote for if they weren't scared..
