nice to be able to hear Fred's voice as it really was - a stunning wee number (now if only someone would do a job on the A-Side, as the production on that was simply awful)
This sounds more like him than other posts. Does a pretty good job. I need to listen to the a few more times. Much better than Phil Collins and maybe Dusty Springfield. Still love the Byrds' version best now, but there's something about this...
Yes. They fucked up this on "solo Collection" . "Queen in Nuce " version sounds too slow but better than Solo Collection ( which sounds too fast ) SIC!
@LocustIvy i really love freddy he is one of the greats maybe its just a personal thing but dusty springfield made me cry when i heard her sing it . the lyrics really strike a deep chord in me i would really like to know who wrote the lyrics
RIP
@cuc321 But in the original mix they piched freddie's voice. The only thing I did was put his voice in real tone.
Freddie never sang "Going Back" and "I Can Hear Music" in the tone that appears in the single released in 73, where Freddie used the pseudonym Larry Lurex. His voice was clearly changed in the mix. Some said that the voice of Freddie Young was at that style, but Freddie recorded these tracks in late 72. And in this time his voice tone was the same as is in the first Queen album
This is the only and real version right? 'cause I've heard people think that the high voice is also a real recording! And that he recorded it twice, again in the 80's, that's a lie right?

Got to give ol' Freddy props for his taste in songs, but this wasn't his finest hour.
Better versions by the Byrds and Dusty Springfield on this Goffin/King classic.

This is not the real voice it's just +1 on the effect sound that's why he sounds like with a low tone

@XWKO You can have an example of freddie's voice on 1972 hearing the de lane lea demo or actually there's a live performance of his live band Ibex
cuc321 1 year ago
@XWKO Thanks, that was helpful information! I didn't get up until today why most video are with Freddie's voice in a high tone.

Please, in the Lyrics to the right there is something very wrong. The ninth line Should be: "But thinking young and growing older is NO sin."
