  • This is absolutely Stunning ! I love it , Great work :-)

  • "Through our web site we sent out an invitation to take part in this album by sending us a C-chord, recorded on piano. We received 66 different C-chords from every corner of the world. Here, in the dying chord of Elegie, are all the pianos mixed together in a global energy of sound. One voice, one world."

  • XD when i listen to this song !! i just wondered ! this is the best one .. when i choose another one to listen ! omg this is the best one ! but the truth is ... they all the best :D ^^ secret garden !!! i can't describe you !1!!!!!!

  • such beautiful music

  • Love it!!! A thing one can close their eyes and fly away to. I just did.

  • Very beautiful!!!!!♥

  • it has funeral-like undertones, i think in poetry an elegie is a lament for the dead...and yet its very touching and simply beautiful to listen to, it raises the soul to unknown realms

  • "Are you ready?"

  • fantastica!ogni tanto mi ricorda un po' la colonna sonora di braveheart

  • Som Para Nossa Alma!!!

  • Everyone may have your own imagination about this song, and that's quite expected, since we're all different from another. But for me, this song brings the image of a legion of angels coming slowly to Earth, with gentle movements, full of faith and light, smiling at us, representing our union with God. They come with friendly eyes, and full of mercy and compassion to our sorrow.

  • @1Night0 Beautifully said:)It also reminds me of prayers though.Maybe because of the candle image.

  • @1Night0 I couldn't have said it better myself :)

  • Wonderful!

  • Tremendously talented group with beautiful music.

  • It's sublime!!

  • it's not beautiful... it's simply perfect!!

  • In ancient time, all the men were called to go to war. The wives were at home waiting for them to come back safety... With many pray and hopes they wait for him.... Yup! This is what think of when I listen to this song.... call me weird...

  • @lilaznmtdgurl pretty weird.... like most of us :D

  • Wow. This song is powerful. Not to mention quite different from Secret Garden's other songs. It's great!

  • I can cry, but i dont know if it enough for this unusual music..

  • are there any sheet music for this?

  • that's a master beautiful piece. although it is named close to a funeral, i have many imagination about it.

    every time i close my eyes when listening, a peaceful grassland and a sunset with something sad behind. I think it is a place to rest our sad mind, our stressful soul. I'm glad to have this place and thank this song.

  • All the songs of Secret Garden are amazing. It's all really worth listening. Sometimes its uppsetting that we have no possibility to listen to such music in radio. It is not very popular in fact. But definately it doesnt have to be popular to be beautiful. I do love music of this kind. I listen to it everyday before sleeping, it brings peace to my mind. I'm sending all the best wishes of beautiful life for other listeners. Greetings from Poland :)

  • who disliked this?? want me to BURN your family?

  • Just a musical elegy ....!!!!!!!

  • An medieval monk walks slowly with candlelight in hand, He sees an open field and goes to it, he hears the cries and grief of the people in his body, He kneels at the top of a hill, praying for guidance, hope, and assurance, that his people will be saved, then he returns to his small chapel, and lays the candlelight on his small desk, then he rests on his bed, knowing one day his world will be suffering, until then, he goes on resting until his final day...
  • in a world where children are not children anymore Secret Garden makes me want to believe in the land of fairies and princesses n i'm a grown woman! :D

  • This song is perfect for a funeral. Sweet, beautiful and melancholic.

    (Just like me, btw)

  • So beautiful... *sniff, tear*

  • I feel like I'm on some sort of sad, long journey.

  • at 4:51. They have what is called a Global C. Its hard to hear but they asked people from around the world to record a C chord and send it to them. They were able to get 66 chords from aorund the world. When played at the same time you hear what you hear at the end. a massive C chord. The composer says it's supposed to represent the overall energy of sound. Whitacre isn't as original as I thought.

  • Inspiring, soaring beauty. Such creative, intelligent artists. Salve for the spirit.

  • Elegy called in ancient Greece small lyrical poem with melancholy and mournful character.

  • Thank you, I now have it on iTunes =D

  • Reminds me of a morgue, and because of that, i like it.

  • Esta es mi canción favorita. Siempre las canciones de Secret Garden me sacan de la rutina laboral... los escucho una y otra vez, pero siempre son experiencias nuevas, me hacen sentir excelente. Gracias.

  • exelente cancion

  • Who the hell disliked something so divine like this???

  • @VOJISLAVzvaniGAVRA an athiest

  • hey this is the Final Acts Productions music on the Rapture!!!

    Watch and Pray!!!!

    The Return of Christ for His church is imminent!!

  • so sad and so beautiful

  • This is beautifl!!

  • One of my fav of Secret Garden. The music is a like a "silence cried out of stop" of the "pain in this world", and a desperate of help and peace.

    *Pain as in, unfairness, war, conflict, global warming....etc etc in this world.....

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I like towards the end, it makes good trailer music, e.g. sth like a war to end all war, etc etc, in LOTR, etc. (bringing sth towards the end)
  • LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
    I've known this song for 7 years now and it still hits me like i just heard it for the first time!
    I love Secret Garden!!!!!
  • One of the saddest songs of The Secret Garden...
  • @caominhduc it certainly is,but it does take you somewhere.
  • @wrm1943 Yes, I gotta agree with you. I see an immense but desolate field, a groomyly dark forest, a lake with cherry blossoms surrounded. I see each tear drop of the prayers fall into Buddha's Golden Lotus. I see myself turn into a crow singing a melancholy tune in the dusk. Where does it take you? I would like to hear what you have experienced. Thank you.
  • @MrGayItUp I think about something totally different.I think about the prisoner's of the holocaust and they have been set free,sort of like finally we are free from all the horror and it's time to go home,a big releif really.RIP to the one's who did'nt make it.
  • @MrGayItUp It's wonderful. This is the aim of a valuable song: arouse imagination and set the mind on pure and essential things. Then this one has touched its purpose.
  • I love them, they awake my feeling
  • One of My Favorites are this One and Gates of Dawn, And You Rise me Up.
  • wow amazing work  (VJJ)
  • SG are the best ! Wonderful, high quality music full of emtions and style. Its a shame that just a few people know them in Europe....
  • I heard this on the Aura channel last night and i had to have it...
  • This is music to love!
    Rolf Hugo Hanssen
    Priest/rev.
    Bergen - Norway
  • Gosh I love this kind of music/melodies. It's relaxing and good to listen to =)
  • one of their most awesome ones!!!
  • Agree with you! :D I love this song!!!!
  • Thank you.
  • Heh I just keep comming back to hear this song! ^.^
  • thank you so much for posting :) :) :) :)
  • You're welcome. :)
  • there is a pretty moving vid with this track called "watch and pray" that's where i first heard this song
  • One of the most beautiful pieces of music I could ever hear in my life. It's a proof that simplicity + beauty works together! Much more touching than many classical songs, in my opinion... =)
  • I think it's my favourite from Secret Garden, although I like all their songs. But this one...
  • @PHAER It's a neoclassical piece, this is the reason why it's more simple. Thus the feelings are easier to arise. But this one is very precious. In fact, Secret Garden has mainly wondrous melodies.
  • And this doesen't have more than a million veiws because...? :D THANK YOU!! I can never find Elegie anywhere online, its almost like a forgotten song...
  • That's the reason I added this song: I didn't find it myself. :D Enjoy!
