I just saw *Taken* and thought "Wow, she runs kinda funny." So I Googled "Maggie Grace runs kind of funny" on the off chance that I wasn't the only one who noticed. I was instantly presented with this and another dozen videos very similar to it as well as several commentaries, reviews and blog entries dedicated entirely to her... I dunno, gallop?

In her defense, I honestly think Maggie is an awesome young actress with a wide range and a killer smile. Just not so much in MOTION.

this is deliberately done people. the way she runs has a childlike quality to it. kids run when they're upset, excited, scared and what have you. this is to underscore how her dad sees her as a little girl. it gives more impact on her dad's worry when she's kidnapped and possibly traded as a sex slave..

watch the movie again and keep that in mind when you see her run.

That would be a good point if it weren't for the fact that she runs the same exact way in EVERY role she plays. True, it worked to her advantage in "Taken". I actually totally agree that it made her more believable as the innocent "daddy's girl"... but if you were to watch her in anything else she's done (keeping in mind that not all of the roles she's taken on over time call for that particular "child-like underscore"), you might not be so quick to call it scripted.

Hilarious! I noticed it the first time, and the second time watching it my kids and I were dying every time she ran. I think they would have liked to cast a 17 year-old, decided it was too shocking so used a 24 year-old, and to have her run like like a 10 year-old to even it out. I would have love to seen the filming and the "directing of the running scenes." She had to realize how it was looking.
