  • @RyanCooleyFanx Reba sang You Lie in a medley in November at her concert in Louisiana and she did fantastic i cried! she still hits those high notes without a care and beautifully!

  • i saw reba do this song in concert when she was touring with brooks and dunn. she didn't even attempt to hit the high notes in this song. i was very disppointed that she didn't at least try. so those of you so impressed with the recorded version-its not so much when you hear it live.

  • Trisha is an amazing belter. Reba has a voice like Celine Dion, sharp, crystalline and soft, yet POWERFUL.

  • I love both versions, why are people arguing...learn from Reba and Trisha...they are mates and they support each other. Beautiful song Trisha!!!

  • This is good, but its apparent Trish can't match Reba's high notes.

  • as a tribute, she did Reba proud

  • i'd like to hear a duet between reba and martina on this song.

  • Cool Trisha really rocks!! I love her version and Reba is the bomb too!!

Two great female country singing artist that are still singing and keeping us happy!!

  • I have to say Trisha did it better than Faith on this song :)

  • am i the only man who feels like trisha yearwood is gorgeous... not traditional sexy so to speak but somethin about her is just... i dont even know! lol shes just a WOMAN you know

  • @BlasterAD as a woman, i think she's gorgeous AND traditionally sexy.

  • Trisha you rock.I've loved this song since it was released in 1990 of course I think I heard it later. It's always been one of my reba favorites but I had always said that if I ever heard you sing it It would never be the same because I love you so much and I remember seeing this video and going wow.

  • Reba's version is great but I love Trisha's rendition better. Just wish I could get this on my MP3 player as I LOVE this song by Trisha. LOVE Reba's old show, too bad it had to end. She is wonderful. Actually they BOTH are.

  • Kudos to her for having the courage to do this song but come on everyone, Reba does kick ass 1000x more than anyone could ever could.

  • NO ONE can sing this like REBA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't care how great their voice is............but Trisha did do a great job. So did faith at the CMT Giants Special honoring Reba. In their defense, this has got to be the hardest song of hers to sing. I give them both props! FYI........This was from the 40th annual ACM Awards. The did something special for it, to honor those special artists who have done so much, and accomplished these special awards.

  • @bRDwyAnnIe here, here! that super high note reba hits is killer!

  • @Bookworm0485 and the super high note... was on a recording...not live !!!

  • Amazing but high notes were poor

  • @britbritbritify yea, there was a 2007(?) video of reba singing this live and she hit the notes beautifully for being much older.

  • Great Job, she did amazing

  • 2005 - The Academy of Country Music's 40th Anniversary Special. The ACM honored artists who had received the "Triple Crown - meaning they won the newcomer, vocalist and entertainer of the year awards. Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Mickey Gilley, Merle Haggard and Barbara Mandrell, along with artists who had won the most ACM awards in the Album (George Strait), Entertainer (Garth Brooks), Female Vocalist (Reba), Single Record (Alan Jackson) and Vocal Group (Alabama) categories.

  • this song makes me a 21 yr old cry my heart out

  • Trisha didnt try and copy the way Reba sang it-she made the song her own which is quite impressive seeing how many times we have heard Reba's song. Trisha gave it a all new perspective.

  • I like Reba's twang and highs better but this version is a close second and to even be compared to Reba is an honor in itself.

  • The announcer said the song is called "You Lied" haha but anyway Trisha did a very good job covering this. :)

  • she did a dam good job

  • can you purchase this concert on a dvd or cd?

  • This is from when Reba won the Johnny Cash Visionary Award in 2004...

  • Amazing!!!

  • I think that beat structure of You Lie is repetitive and only Reba can take a blandish country/adult contempo song and make it sound like a million bucks. Trisha's version is as good as it can be and it ain't her fault. The same for the Faith Hill version.

  • Excellent job as always Trisha. She could sing Pop goes the weasel and make it sound like a hit song!!!

  • My two TOP Country Favs, Reba and Trisha, WOW... doesn't get ANY better than that! Such Beautiful voice, such Beautiful women... love it!

also one of my Most Fav old Reba songs/videos too... NICE!

  • And this goes out to Joe Willson. Way to go!

  • I have seen Trisha 22 times in concert and met her 9 times in person. She is without a doubt, the most genuine sincere sweetest person you could ever imagine. Once I even made her smile on stage in Seattle and she had no idea it was me. Not a stalker, just a fan who completely loves her voice and her songs. Sadly, she and Garth are retired. I'll never understand why?

  • Didn't think Trisha was retired - just Garth.

  • Garth came out of retirement so maybe he and trisha will go back on the road

  • This song is incredibly difficult to perform live. A lesser vocalist would have embarrassed herself, but Trisha delivers as usual. I'd like to hear a recorded version that allowed her to "make it her own," but I think she won't tread on Reba's turf.

  • As I recall the crowd was very appreciative of Trisha performance as was Reba, this was just great singing !!!! Thanks for posting Bree 26

  • IMO, this is not even a marginally good song. But it was a hit because Reba can take a mediocre song and sell it. I'm a huge Trisha fan, but Reba can sell this song better. Maybe I'm too harsh on Trisha, but Trisha needs a good song to stand out; when she sings the good/great songs, she rocks my world. Check out "If I Had Only Known", a much better song and Trish made everybody cry and "Lying to the Moon" - original by Matraca Berg - the original was haunting but Trish's version makes me weep.

  • All in all - I love Trisha's voice. I like this song, though I like other Reba songs much more. Someone else commented that it's a hard song to sing - and I think that's totally right. It's difficult vocally and emotionally to put over. Reba does a great job at both. I think Trisha does a great job with this song (better than Faith Hill did on the CMT Giants special). And while I agree that Trisha did a really nice job on If I Had Only Known, I still prefer Reba's version.

  • @meredithchandler73 Reba's version is awesome yet I think Trisha did a very good job, although I still prefer Faith's version over Trisha's (but that's because I absolutely and unconditionally love Faith) :) And yes: this is a very difficult song to sing.

  • It wasn't just 4 in the 80's, it also included 3 more in the 90's with a total number of 7 Female Vocalist Wins...making her the Academy's Leading Lady

  • This was a special the ACMs did where they had country artists celebrate other artists who one a certain number of ACMs. Reba was honored for winning the Female Artist of the Year four years in a row in the 80s.

  • Was it the 40th Anniversary of the ACMs? Or a different ACM special? Was there just the one song for Reba or was there another performance?

    Trisha is wonderful. :)

  • I think this was the cmt giants show honoring reba..

  • no faith hill sang this for Giants Trisha sang If I Had Only Known

  • I love Trisha, really, but this is Reba's through and through.

  • OK iM LiKE THE FiFTH PERSON WHOSE ASKED THiS BUT WHEN WAS THiS..?

  • i like rebas high notes in this song alot better than trisha's

  • They have very different voices, Reba's is clearer and a little higher, Trisha has more of a hoarse voice, you can't quite compare them. I do think they both are perfect in their own ways.

  • i love reba

  • I don't really know for sure, I think it was 2005 on some kinda of special like "Country Music Honors" or something like that... among the singers honored there were Barbara Mandrell (Reba sang for her) and Reba McEntire.

  • When was this?????

  • When and where was this?
